Question about Ranked. My rank was B- last night and now it's somehow C- this morning. Why is my rank constantly dipping whenever I'm not playing?
 
Some guy splatted me and mashed on the ZL button so I splatted him, did the same and he rage quitted and we won and this is where I am with this game.

Had someone do that to me after splatting me and a teammate.
I respawned, wiped out him and 2 of his teammates and did the same to him.

He never did it again that match.
 
I don't care if it is illegal.

OK, how are you supposed to use the Splashdown special? I'm glad they nerfed specials across the board so there aren't any that just win fights 100% of the time as soon as you pop them, but I don't see much of a point in using the Splashdown because of the crazy startup time. I can't seem to catch anyone in it that I couldn't simply kill with my gun, it doesn't put out enough ink to really matter in turf war, and it doesn't even have any invulnerability frames on the start up so sometimes when I pop it out in a desperate situation, I still die.

Right now I'm just using it as a quick way to re-fill my ink tank, but that seems like a waste. There has to be some use for it, right?

I'm surprised, that's how phones/tablets work! Don't tell me you've been going into menus and such to put it to sleep! :P
 
Without any coordination in Turf War, I doubt Splashdown can be nearly that effective.
It turns an accidental suicide jump into a decisive kill, because you can only super jump on a spawn or a teammate.

Don't know how many times that saved my ass when I jump to a dead guy and I got two enemies shooting at my landing area. I can see them from the air and just activate before I land.
 
OK, I've decided the Tri-Slosher needs nerfing. Three nerf in particular:

1) Reduce its range - having 2 slosh kills at a range where even the .52 Gal splats in 3 hits is silly.

2) reduce the damage of the side sloshed - similarly, 2 slosh kills without actually needing to aim are ridiculous.

3) increase points needed to get special - part of what makes this weapon so toxic is the fact too often the squid using it will be even more unbeatable in a 1v1 because of ink armour.

Even after this it'd still see a lot of use (that kit is just too good) but it wouldn't be such a degenerate weapon. Right now I'm not sure there's a reason to use the N-Zap 85, Standard Slosher or the .52 Gal while the Tri-Slosher exists in its current form.

True, but the only place to safely start up your jump is from the spawn, which means you died which means you don't have special.

I suppose you could kill someone, then jump to a teammate and Splashdown mid-jump and hope to gank someone. Seems like a lot of luck involved. Then there's the chance that whoever's hoping to kill you post-jump has a long range weapon and won't be in your Splashdown range, which would really suck.
 
Finally went on the app, ordered those shoes, and saw my last 50 battles.

Ouch.

I'm not as good as I thought lol. Granted, some of those were me trying out weapons like the charger and stuff. Gotta get gud.




By the way, thoughts on Splattershot Pro vs. Jet Squelcher? Really love the Jet squelcher's range but the added power on the pro is nice. :(

You're literally making it way more complicated than it needs to be man, and I say that as a guy who still doesn't use splashdown often because I like the tentamissiles better. You're complaining about the possible drawbacks of a singular special when all of them have drawbacks and that's why they need to be handled in the correct situation. And you just said you were glad they're not 100% win tools this time.
 
I only ZL-bag someone when they're a dualie user and they just spent 15 seconds dodge rolling away from my shots but in the end I prevailed. Fuck dodge rolling.

You're probably right. No sense in coming up with complicated "what ifs" in my head when I could just as easily just try out jumping to teammates, using Splashdown, and seeing what happens.

I mean, what's the worst that can happen? I don't kill anyone? Oh, no! That's so much worse than walking up to a guy and trying to Splashdown them!

Also fun, camping in an inked corner until someone is just right next to you so they'd be in the center of a splashdown marker and then ambush activate it so they literally have no chance of escape

As a Tri Slosher abuser during the Splatfest I agree with the need for a nerf. I have special charge up on at all times and Ink Armour is superb when used right so even with your proposed nerfs I would still use it. Though I'd probably nerf damage more before its range. The side sloshes need to be weaker than the main one regardless.

Squidbagging is only allowed if you singlehandedly wipe outat least 3 of the enemy team in quick succession.
And you can't get killed during or straight after doing it or you can never legally squidbag again.

Now that sounds dirty. And I did just buy that Shirt/Tie combo with Ninja Squid on SplatNet. Maybe it's time I learned how to be stealthy.

These kids try and dish out tbags, but can't even take them without throwing a temper tantrum. lol
 
Anyone else having an absurd amount of DCs today? I was fine yesterday but it's every other game right now for me...

Edit: got booted from online play because too many DCs. I got a cable running into my Switch so I have no idea why it's being so shit right now
 
What exactly does "There hasn't been many players in a while, so the rank meter won't change." mean?

Also, activity log is still not showing up, it just says when I first played.
 
I don't know of any online multiplayer game that I've lost more in than Splatoon 2. I also haven't played a shooter in which I've struggled to aim at an opponent.

It's a great game, but it's pretty demoralizing starting out.
