Finally.

Man I love all the little shortcuts you can take on Moray Towers. Seeing the meter jump from 82 to 42 feels awesome.

Also when the other team has the rainmaker I sometimes find myself purposely killing myself to get back to spawn quicker and intercept the carrier. Is that bad?

You can super jump back to the spawn.

Um, if you were in this game, I'm sorry for trying to kill your friends with the Baller. I didn't know you guys were just goofing around.

I honestly don't feel bad about trying against squid parties. If they want to goof around, they can go to private rooms.

The most infuriating thing in this game is when your team lets the other team win at Rainmaker in the first 30 fucking seconds.

Oh well, at least I finally got up to B-.

True, might give ranked another try, but as soon as I grab the rainmaker I can practically hear my team-members screaming and I don't even have chat enabled! I played a bit of splat zones in Splatoon 1 and likewise Tower Control and they were fun enough, I'm decent at them, I just don't like pressure. I'm here just to paint things, you know?
I don't really feel pressure or stress when playing ranked. It can be tense when there's a constant back and forth, but that's what's fun about it.

Maybe it's because I'm playing against JP players and know they're not actually screaming. Only on the inside.

Well...tonight was infuriating. A night of teleporting ink and three separate occasions where I point blank smacked somebody with my roller with no effect. At least I hope I taught some scrubs on Rainmaker the value of ditching the thing when it's sitting next to your goal (Moray).

They all gathered in the middle of the map and were just jumping together (2 from my team, 3 from their team). I tried to splat them with the baller but they scattered (didn't get anyone because lol range).

The rest of the game they were just avoiding me, it was surreal.

I had some high highs and low lows today. Went from games in which it was painfully obvious my teammates didn't know about super jumps, to completely stomping the other team singlehandedly in the most badass way possible.

Another day in Splatoon 2

Also, I think the game should hide other players' levels in turf wars. If it's evidently not being used for matchmaking, then all its doing is psychologically predisposing people to think they'll lose or win.

Just go paint everything while they goof off. It's easy money at least.

It's what I try to do when the other team has a player disconnect. I try to follow someone around and clean up after them, but usually my teamates just want to camp their spawn. How can I make any money if there's nothing to paint?

Have you guys noticed an increase in 'trollish' teammates?

There seems to be something going on when people don't D/C, but they score extremely low points like in the 100s and don't appear to do anything. This is something I personally never seen in the first Splatoon and I am beginning to wonder if it is on purpose and not a connection issue.

What's technically a "good" score during a turf war game?
Depends on the weapon you're using and the team-role you're attempting to play. A good score for an Aerospray is going to be much different than your average charger or blaster for instance. Are you strictly trying to ink turf wherever you find it, or are you trying to play offensively and keep the enemy on their heels, or are you playing defensively and making sure the enemy can't advance beyond an area you've already claimed? Despite some claims there is more to turf war than just "paint everything."

How is the ranked mode scoreboard at the end of the games ranked? How much you played the objective?
Your placement on the scoreboard is based on your recent win/loss ratio in that mode. So if you've been playing well and winning most of your games (relative to your teammates), you'll be higher up. There's not much point in trying to read too much into it aside from getting a general sense of how "hot" everyone in the team was going into the match.

Drink tickets suck, I used two tickets to level 3 pieces of 3-slot Tentatek Gear (Ink Recovery Up) and only got the slot on 7 out of the 21 level ups.

The main thing it's good for is multiplying gear XP by 1.5, but it's definitely not a good way to farm ability chunks.

5 years play Splatoon too

Put up a personal best 28.0 Superfresh with Splattershot Pro on Musselforge/Moray earlier. And now I'm back down to like 12.0. Those -2.5 per loss are brutal!

Yeah, doesn't feel like they influence it a ton. Was getting one Ink Recovery on the offbrands but the branded stuff didn't exactly fill up. Seemed better for going for 2/3 pure and offbrand situations.

Happened to me earlier today, and it's definitely not something that's new to Splatoon 2. There was an Enperry Dualies on my team that mostly just swam around randomly, squid-kidded, and occasionally spammed booyah. 120p inked or so by the end of our loss.
People like to just randomly troll and squid-party sometimes. It's dumb but eh, that's the internet for you.

A rank still has people that continuously super jump to their death. I really hope they're just throwing the game because if they got to A rank with no brain then I have no hope for the matchmaking system.
This is the result of the leniency towards losing that everyone keeps praising. If the game doesn't punish your rank meter as harshly when you lose, more people will rank up...

protip: don't play ranked during work hours on a monday if you ping with japan because that was not a pleasant experience

actually oddly only one total blowout and a lot of win-by-10-points TC, but I lost every game, so yeah

Question: Why are most of the guns in the game out ranged by something YOU BARELY HAVE TO FUCKING AIM!?!? Oh yeah lets also give it the best sub and best special in the game cause fuck you...

No mercy for skid parties, it was infuriating in S1 when one or two of your teammates just went to a corner of the map and did nothing, effectively transforming the match into a 4 vs 2 and ruining it for you. Whenever I see someone partying on the other team I do my best to kill them as quickly and repetitively as possible, I hope people on the opposite team do the same. They just ruin the game for those who just want to play the game.

does anyone have any tips for aiming? I raised the sensitivity but have found it's been making me worst, if anything.

Typically lower sensitivity is better for aiming, combined with learning how to pre-aim at places where enemies typically are.

Man, I can't stand this game. I really really want to like it, but pulling out of rank C is a nightmare. I'm sick of getting matched with people who literally don't know how to play the game every single game. I'm sick of watching as level 20+ players populate the entire other team while my team consists of lvl11/12 players. I end up putting the game down every time I play it because it's ultimately more annoying to play than anything else.

I've seen three people jump off the edge to their doom because I cornered them lol
I guess they don't realize they can break it before it goes off.

WHERE THE FUCK IS MY OCTOLING GEAR

YOU TOOK AWAY MY SPECIAL WEAPON AND NOW YOU TOOK AWAY MY CLOTHES FUCK YOU NINTENDO
I guess we can hope to get it from the inevitable Marina amiibo but who knows. I also haven't seen the gas mask yet, so I assume there's other things they've left out.

Is Japan really that much better than other regions?

So today's Salmon Run is the worst. Went from Go-Getter to Apprentince.

At one point I decided to let others take the eggs while I focus on keeping them alive and clearing mobs. Didnt work too.

Switch must have THE worst wifi I've experienced.
Playing in docked mode just 1-2feet from modem I'm getting connection errors. So it's picky on the placement of my Switch docked, so I moved it an inch and it was fine. And this happened before as well.
It's not even showing full bars.

Playing in portable mode however from 2 meters away and it's ok.

uh yeah dude

apart from anything else even in my ping region they lag a fraction more than most other players, and anything from A - S+ ranks are just full of murderers

You're in Australia right? Malaysia here.

Getting bodied by Japanese players is depressing. I lose a lot of one on one battles due to lag.

Getting A is a feat itself here. Staying there is a whole another matter.

The problem I found with Splatfest is every time I'd finally connect with a reasonable looking team (I can only judge by their level) I'd get a communication error.

Apparently high levelled players are impatient and like to keep disconnecting. At least the new low level guys are team players and stick around.

So if anything, it's the level 30 pluses that cost ketchup its win.
