Soooo I beat the campaign with every weapon now because I thought it might unlock something cool... maybe some cool unique gear. I didn't want to spoil myself about it what it might be, so I didn't check online.
All I got is confirmation that I am 1000% fresh.... (so... nothing)
I must say I'm a little dissapointed

You should be able to buy each of the hero weapons (except for hero brella) in sheldon's shop as hero replicas now. But they're reskins of existing weapons you can already get.

You get points for covering area in your ink, not for kills. Your personal P is then added to the winning bonus.

All gear level up separately, at the start you have access to 1 or 2 slot gear but when you get to higher levels, its gets up to 3 slots. Unlockable skills are random, clothing color cant be changed, certain brands will always have a specific number of the same main ability. You can manipulate what slot skills you get through Murch, who can shuffle them, scrub them (giving you skill bits), and letting you choose an ability yourself (via skill bits).

My personal favorite is Main Ink Saver and Ninja Squid.

All weapons have their own NON-CHANGABLE set. So the roller you have will always have that set unless you unlock and buy a different roller with a different set. Most of the time other "companies" release different variants of the same weapon with different subweapons and specials.

Murch is on the right side of the multiplayer tower, sitting on a bench.

Two stages right now, will have more added later.

iirc learning how much damage each bullet does and your partials is an important part of using splatlings. You don't need to be going for the full charge all the time, although I don't remember how much charge you need to get at least 4 shots.

The P number is points, which is representative of how much turf you've covered. You don't gain points when you cover ground that is already inked in your color; only when you cover ground that's neutral or enemy color. You also only gain points when covering flat or near-flat ground, but having walls painted for mobility is still important (you probably don't want to get trapped at the bottom of a wall when you could've climbed up it!).

Whenever you kill an enemy, the enemy will explode in your ink color and cover the ground, so you should be indirectly getting points by killing the enemy (unless they're deep in your color (in which case why did they overextend that far lol)).

Also the winning team always gets a bonus +1000 points to their score at the end of the match; if you want to see how much the winners actually turfed, subtract 1000 from their score.

Gear with ? slots can gain points to unlock said ? slots. At the end of every match you play, regardless of win or loss, you will fill every bar available on each of your equipped gear for the amount of points you got. Whenever you fill a bar for a slot, it will randomly generate an ability for you (though certain brands of clothing have a bias towards rolling certain abilities). Clothes cannot be recolor'd, though some outfits do come in different colors as separate clothes. To me, what I'd do is find out what play style I like to play with for a certain kit, then pick abilities that emphasizes that play style (and hopefully looks fresh!).

It's hard to go wrong with Ink Resistance, Swim Speed, Ink Saver Main and Ink Recovery. The other abilities are still very good and deserve some thought, depending on your play style, but you will generally be swimming, shooting, and be near enemy ink a lot.

Each kit always has a designated sub weapon and special that cannot be changed. There may be a variant which has the same main weapon but with different sub and special, but that's as much difference as you can get for kits.

Murch can be found to the right of the lobby entrance.

You cannot rank up in League Battle. Rank manipulation only happens in Solo Ranked; Rank is just a barrier for getting into League.

Thanks guys, super helpful. This game looks like it has an absolute ton of depth to it.

My favourite part of the game is the fact that when the round ends you often don't know who has won, and can often be wrong even looking at the map. I can't remember any other multiplayer game I've played where that's the case - where you have to wait and find out who won. It's a little dopamine boost at the end of every round.

Thank you for your hard work and saving us all the time xD

I kmow, but I was expecting something really cool for beating it with all of them :(
Well on the bright side, at least it means you got a bunch of
extra Crust Bucket tickets to speed up your multiplayer unlocks.

Not exactly a big celebration but still useful!

He doesn't.

In the first game, Spyke would re-roll slots in exchange for a sea snail OR 30,000G in cash. Now, Murch will scrub gear (removing sub abilities, returning them as chunks and letting you re-level the gear) for 20kG as a flat rate. With snails, you can either add a slot to a piece of gear with less than three slots, or if the gear is already fully-leveled, will reroll all three subs for new ones, returning the three previous subs as chunks. That, too, is a flat rate, there is nothing done for 30k anymore.

Ok that's exactly what i've experienced. Just wanted to make sure i wasn't missing something.

Not even a single mobile wallpaper?
Should have been that singleplayer art from the reverseable boxart cover.

What're all your preferred weapons for the ranked modes?

So far I'm gravitating towards:

Rainmaker: N-Zap '85 or Splattershot
Splat Zones: Octobrush
Tower Control: Tri-Slosher (sorry)

But have been trying different weapons out, so interested to hear some suggestions. Also any tips for any of the dualies would be neat if they're going, just can't seem to do well with them.

N-Zap and tri-slosher for Splat Zones
Jet Squelcher for Tower
Avoid Rainmaker for my sanity lol

Thanks for putting in the hard work.

I guess it's for the best. God forbid if this was how you got something good, like some sweet gear or the Brella.

Splat Zones: Firefin Splat Charger or E-Liter 4K
Tower Control: Firefin Splat Charger or E-Liter 4K

Bonus:
Turf War: Firefin Splat Charger or... actually, just the Firefin here.

I like chargers.

Right now I'm using the Jet Squelcher for everything. Trying to get back into my groove with it.

Nothing like making the enemy drop the Rainmaker at 1 second forcing overtime, in which your team picks it up and goes the length of the map to get the win.

Tri-slosher is the best since everyone runs to a single point.
You just stand in a choke area and splat away

Announcing it early, to hopefully have a team by that time.

I'm planning on doing League (Team of 4), tonight at around 7:30 PM Est.

Ideally, I would like to to have a group that can be on the discord Splatoon server, and voice chat. Although not required.

l got a kill on Thatsrb2dude in a turf war game today this is the apex of my Splatoon career l'm never playing the game again.

Really loving the game
Level 9 half way to 10. Avging about 950-1100 each turf war. Is that a good barometer of whether or not I should try ranked? I'm really loving motion controls, being able to spin around and splat someone is so rewarding!

Tower Control: Splattershot Pro
Rainmaker: Splatcharger
Splat Zones: Rapid Blaster*

I just unlocked the Splash-O-Matic. I think that's going to be my go-to in Splat Zones now.

Ranked is objective based, not turf
So you need a better sense of when to engage and back off encounters and trick/sneak

Octobrush, Jet Squelcher, Octobrush

Doesn't really matter which mode.

edit - I really want to try out the Splattershot Pro in splat zones though. That rain cloud...

A rank in Rainmaker now.
Just need to pull Tower Control from B+ to A-, but haven't had time to play that mode during its rotations, lol

D'oh... :(

Someone bought the alternate color Inkling Girl amiibo from Splatoon 1 that I was about to get. I'm sad now...

Now I have to get the Callie and Marie 2-pack amiibo AND the Inkling Girl alt. colors amiibo!

Also, stop teabagging guys!

I don't :( I love celebratory squid-bagging in Salmon Run. Never do it in competitive modes.

Me neither. Celebratory squidbagging in Salmon Run is the best. I've also got a soft spot for when three of us get splatted at the very end of a wave, and then the last person alive survives, causing us to start to "Booyah" and jump around happily in our lifebuoys.

Just wanna say I love Splatoon 2. 60 hours played, level 22, and I still crave it every day.

Rainmaker: Sploosh-O-Matic
Splat Zones: Sploosh-O-Matic
Tower Control: Sploosh-O-Matic (though I'd like to be good with the Goo Tuber since the kit is totally made for TC)

Hero mode sorta-spoiler:
I'm disappointed that the final boss isn't remotely the quality jump that octobot king was in Splatoon 1, and they didn't really learn in ways for that fight in particular that I thought they should. I'd say that it was actually easier than Octogalaxy by a wide margin.
