Hmm.

Man the scalpers are really getting out of control...

As far as I see it, Splatoon is coming out tomorrow night. I reeaally would've preferred a physical copy, but with me not getting paid until tomorrow and with no car to get me to a local game store to buy it, I'll have to settle. At least I'll be able to play it almost immediately. SO EXCITED.

I made a quick post about the Blaster in the spoiler thread. The Blaster set looks like it's absolutely dedicated for hunting and killing.

- Blaster shoots real slow, but it has big splash and can OHKO. It seems to be the equivalent of a grenade launcher or a rocket launcher.

- Poison Bomb (I think?) doesn't damage nor release ink, but it basically hits everyone in an area with a faerie fire effect that reveals them, even while they're dived, AND slows them down. Good for tossing into enemy ink to find would-be ambushers.

- Killer Wail is artillery that can hit through walls, but does not spread ink.

Anyway hopefully I'll be a little more active here than in the other GAF gaming communities that I lurk!

Wonder what it'd be like trying to pin down the weapons in terms of TF2-styled classifications.

I guess it'd be something like
Shooter = Offense
Roller = Support
Charger = Defense

Although Sniper is usually a Support Class in those terms it seems more valuable in Splatoon defensively due to limited range that other weapons possess, so I guess the Blaster falls into that Defensive category as well. I still can't tell whether that's it's own weapon type. It seems like it should be but I'm surprised that the Direct didn't go into detail about it.

::Sigh:: Welcome to Dye.

For what it's worth this was my second favorite suggestion and if this reaches OT2 I'll probably use that title.

My 3 pack came in!

Looks great and smells like paint inside the package for that authenticity.

Have a size comparison to Rock Man:

Damn, these amiibos are looking sooooo good, just wished that Nintendo would still be at my country, i would pay any price for them :(

I would dye for one of them

I missed out on the last test fire demo due to not checking what the time conversion was to my time zone and just assumed it would be on Sunday sometime. Doh!

Not sure I want to get this day one though...5 maps and 2 modes? Very old school in a bad way matchmaking? Not my jam.

I'll wait to see how the game is doing when more DLC content is slated to release and hop in.

I hope this game does well though!

Interestingly, I had a very tight win, and on the win screen, it appeared that two of my teammates were offline. I have to assume they weren't offline for the whole match!

Amazon is being unusually silent about my copy.

Between this and the damn playstation tickets, it's been a bad week for acquiring stuff.

Nah that's Prepare to Dye. Nintendo used that one heavily in marketing and in the Edge article.

Nintendo actually used "Prepare to Dye" on Splatoon marketing ? Damn, i can see that it's a pun, but it just doesn't fell right, Splatoon is such a light hearted game, it fells strange that they would attach this phrase to the game.

DAMN YOU NATE.

I am jealous. Review copy now early retail copy? :O(

Will watch

The pre-review launch code will expire and the online servers will be disabled. The retail copy is our replacement. At least I get to start the game fresh at Level 1 and work my way up again! And I don't even mind doing so. I enjoy the game that much.

Can someone answer this for me? When I play competitive games, I prefer to play using headphones. Does the Gamepad output sound, or is there an option for it? I'd like to be able to play on the TV, but plug my headphones in and receive the sound that way.

The Gamepad has a headphones out port which usually outputs the game audio but don't quote me on that.

I was hoping to find a copy today in NYC but no luck.

Tomorrow shall be the day! That 1 hour testfire did a number on my heart and has me very hyped.

To all those playing right now, enjoy! Ill be adding my name to the sheet when I get home.

My HDMI monitor has a headphone jack so I played with the gamepad sound off and headphones on the monitor.

Unfortunately, my big sound complaint was that the audio was too loud for me even on my monitor's lowest volume setting, and there is no ingame sound effect / music volume slider in the demo (and as far as I know, in the full game as well). :(

I did this with the test fire. Works fine. Just plug the headphones into the audio out on the gamepad.

Yup, you plug your headphones into the Gamepad for audio
