Yeah very true! We had some back and forth encounters. I have much to learn in the way of the roller.

So I tried playing a roller for the first time (well, I tried it for one round during the Global Testfire events), expecting to dislike it. But a couple hours with the Krak-on really warmed me up to using rollers. Still trying to figure out how to avoid getting splatted so much, but I kept a positive k/d in nearly every round.
I also expected to hate the Kraken (I've never used a weapon with that special before), but soon found myself giggling with evil glee to see my enemies immediately run in the opposite direction while I hunted them down like calamari.
Anyway, I'm done for tonight but I think I want to get in on some of these GAF rooms soon, just to see how I stack up against the pros. Added myself to the spreadsheet, but anyone who wants to go ahead and friend me,

That kinda sucks. The single player stuff is pretty boring but I'll possibly play it to get my Amiibo money's worth I guess.
I was really focused on covering turf and I guess everyone wanted your blood or something.
You can unlock some cool costumes through completing the challenges. And the only way to get the other mini loading games is through them.
Which is totally BS.

Yep, turns out it was on. Don't remember when I did it. Turned it off and got a Pink vs. Teal match immediately.
Oh OK. I didn't actually see who was helping and I stole a couple of kills but I still just couldn't believe with all the ink flying everywhere that the kill counts were so low for both teams. I think the other team was so focused on sneaking out that they never had or took the chance to get many kills.
Yeah that could be it. They were too defensive and spent to much time swimming around in the ink lol.
I dunno it's even worse than it was during splatfest

That was such a good start.
Connection has been perfect for me for the past two hours. Time to retire for the night. NZap was pretty fun. I don't normally use it, but I wanted to test echolocator with special duration up gear. I'm not sure it's worth the extended duration, since I just hunt and kill them quickly anyway.

Wow after messing around with the charger in the target range I realize just how many bullshit deaths I've suffered due to lag. There are so many times I've died to a charger when the laser was like a foot away from me, but in actuality you shouldn't be able to hit someone with it unless it's dead on

I was internally screaming earlier today when I was playing a match in ranked and the game was doing that "ink is landing but nothing is inked" thing symbolizing a D/C. What made it worse was that for 30 seconds it was like this and even the enemy team didn't know what was up aside from one player on their team who had gotten on the tower. All of a sudden "Enemy has captured the tower" appeared, a fuck load of ink loaded everywhere and they were 20 paces from winning despite two of our own and theirs having a dance party like "we're all fucked anyway".

As a roller specialist, I don't go for the tower. I make a path for it and play interference, only going for the tower if I need to or I've got a Kraken charged up and I need to boot off the other team. Same for Zones. I try to make a circuit of inking the zone and interfering with the other team. Depends on the map, but in Kelp Dome I like to invade the other team's home base area and hit them from behind while setting up beacons. Of course, my style needs a solid team who can take control of the zone since I play a large support game. If they can't take the zone, outside of a Kraken rush there's not much I can do if the other team is entrenched. Anyway, if you have rollers on your team and they seem to be going off on their own, they may be doing like me and setting up.
Nah, I was trying the Carbon Roller and my entire team were mid/close range gunners.

Holy shit, I just sniped an opponent, sound effect went and everything, and a fraction of a second later they turned into a kraken. Must have triggered it at the exact same time. No lag anywhere in the match.

This happens far too frequently for people who have bubblers. I snipe them, sound and effect and all, then half a second later, a random bubbler. So much for kills being on the client side.
