The only way to get better at this game is by playing. It will be hard, and you might even need to change weapons in order to beat them. I don't know if they'll make any improvements to matchmaking but I would recommend jumping into gaf rooms and practice with them since nothing is on the line. We have pretty good chargers/roller/blaster, maybe they can give you a tip if you let us know what weapon you use.

Just finished watching these. Amazing. That round on Bluefin Depot had me stifling laughter, thankfully I have a private office at work, lol.
Does "better matchmaking" mean "people I can beat"?
Change weapons and tactics. If blasters and rollers are getting you, use a longer range weapon and be suspicious of any enemy ink. Snipers just require you to move around. I'm confident that unless you change something with your style, you will be right back here saying the same stuff after any update.
Ugh, watching someone play without gyro controls is painful on my eyes. The camera jerks all around. Actually makes me feel a little ill.

I think its a combination of memory and hard drive. I got a Alienware M17x around November/December last year that's been an absolute champion but streaming seems to hang a bit and I blame not getting better/more memory and an SSD when customizing this thing. 5400RPM hard drives are the fucking devil. Also lol 8GB DDR3-800MHz. I need to get a good job again so I can splurge a bit on my hobby again.
The way I see it, my A- that I fought for four times in a row is worth more than anyone's A+ at this point. :lol
Thing is, there is a noticeable uptick in good players (both as individuals and teams) once you break out of B+ and that makes the entire A rank competitive as fuck. It's gonna be wild, but you'll feel far more satisfied ranking up amidst all that.
Make sure you're dropping every time you lose. One team change can be all the difference in starting a run.
Does anyone else see gear while out in public? Like this dude across from me in this diner has those ugly forge headphones on, and almost every jogger in the East bay is running with those ink resistant tentateks.
ended the night on a satisfying carbon roller ambush where I absolutely corner-ambushed two unsuspecting splattershots. Still way worse - started in A30 and over the course of 3 sessions and probably 5 hours or so today got kicked all the way back to B+70.

Had an awful round this morning with a hugely laggy Japanese player. He got a few splats against me -- the worst was when I was gliding around with my kraken, which suddenly got stuck in the enemy ink instead of inking over it. A couple seconds after I realized what I was seeing, my kraken exploded in an inkball, then a couple more seconds later the lagger appeared from nowhere, shooting persistently at the location of my demise.
Living in Brooklyn within walking distance of Prospect Park, Barclay's Center and the Botanic Gardens is amazing for this. I think Krak-On Red and Hunter Hi Tops are the most popular shoes around here aside from the occasional

Also, I have a bunch of friends that want to try Splatoon, but don't want to just go online and pass the controller after each round. Is the 1v1 Battle Dojo any good, or does it just feel tacked-on?
I haven't used the Tenatek Splattershot since the first day of Tower Control, so I decided to give it another try in splatzones. The gun itself feels too short ranged for its low power, and too low power for its short range. However, the sub-weapons are fantastic on many maps. Camp Triggerfish is one of those maps.
Battle Dojo would be fun if the player skills are equal and someone doesn't mind not using gyro. I have played it a bit with my daughter, using the pro controller to handicap myself, but it isn't that great. The framerate hurts as well.

Last night I took a chance and bought Krak-On Ink Resist shoes from him that had two swims. I blew 20K on that and an extra 30K on a new slot thinking I'd raise enough EXP and RNGesus would provide me with the final swim speed up. 10 extra matches with the brush at 4AM way past when I wanted to KO for sleep later, I get a special charge up. Meaning I now have the exact same pair of kicks I had before this venture except the order of abilities has switched.

Oh yeah, that hard drive speed and ram speed might actually be a detriment, but maybe it's more the hard drive. Have you opened task manager or something similar to monitor what's getting stressed? What capture device do you have? I think I remember you mentioning that the software creates a large file during streaming and it nearly fills your hard drive. If you can keep an eye on how much space it typically uses, maybe you can get an external USB 3.0 hard drive with more space than it uses. You should be able to redirect that file to the external drive.
I don't have any experience with streaming hardware, so that's why I need to ask a lot of questions.

Lol she thought it was pretty and wanted to test it out but hit the buy button instead lol.
I made the switch from the provided Elgato software to OBS and haven't had any problems with recordings taking space (or being made without permission) since. I had the task manager up one time during my more troublesome run with the stream and found that the CPU usage was excellent and never went above 20% usage at the highest, but it used a meaty chunk of memory (about 325 - 350MB) for the duration of the streams I'd provide. I figured with 8GB of memory on hand it's not starved for breathing room, but it might be the memory frequency (in combination with the HDD since the biggest problem sometimes is returning to the OBS program [btw, I'm using the version on the right, is that the recommended version?] if it's left in the background for too long -- 4 hours and I need to check it up otherwise the UI starts hanging despite the software still running the stream) fucking things up.
Does anyone have any tips for how to comeback on Camp Triggerfish? There are lots of ways to prevent the other team from getting in to begin with, but I'm talking about situations where the damage is already done and you have to come back during the last minute.

The lowering of the gates didn't matter as much because the map was so big, we could continue painting around the loop and just kinda hold our lead. I've been on the losing end of some of these and have noticed it's just hard to catch up to the other team sometimes, just going around the loop.
I feel like Kelp Dome could have this comeback problem too with its big map, but I haven't noticed it as much because of how it's in open quadrants and stuff. What are the key zones you need to push toward in Camp Triggerfish when you're losing? Is it just a matter of making sure your whole team isn't patrolling in the same direction?

That's odd. I'd like to think that if it runs fine in the beginning, it should run fine later. Is that memory usage when it starts or when it starts hanging?
So wait, the stream is fine when the UI starts hanging? That's odd. Have you updated your OBS software? It said that there was an update yesterday. Have you played any PC games that use that much RAM and did it stutter or drop in FPS after about 4 hours that you can remember? It might just be a software issue.
As for which version to use, I don't know. Google is failing me.
