B+ now, final match was me, another B with two B+s, against 2 B+, an A- and an A. Had an awful day in Turf Wars so that rank up even though it's minor is a good feeling.

I as an A+ just hard carried an S rank, and I don't even play TC often. They went 3/14 because they had a friggin Aerospray RG. They got on the tower, which was great since it was only ever us getting on, but they didn't know how to use their weapon well enough to have it pull weight in Ranked.

That said, I can enjoy S cash money for a while again. Luna Blaster wrecks A+ lobbies.

i destroy people all the time with the aerospray the problem with the weapon is that 99% of the people that use it have no idea how to it makes good players that use it look really bad,

Yeah, it's got a good TC kit. It can deny with mines, and grab tons of area for your team if played safely. Like I said though, if you can't make the weapon work, it's probably not a good idea to take into a competitive fight.

On another note, I want another Blaster on my team at all times. Two Blasters is awesome. No corner was safe for the enemy hahaha.

Edit: So I don't like the new tiebreaker system. It's the same as before, but it doesn't tick on until time goes out. So, whereas before it immediately offset ties by adding a point back on to the losing side if they hit the same number as the winning side.. Now it just waits until Overtime to kick in and checks if the losing side has objective. I don't know what happens if they don't, but I assume it just gives a loss to the second players to the set distance.

I don't know if I explained that very coherently, so tl;dr new tie breaker is same as old tie breaker but isn't as clear.

Gonna play some Splatoon later, but I'm going to be mixing it up between that and Guilty Gear more often now. As long as school allows me anyway... :p

Being hit by a major 'connection is unstable' during a ranked match.. And still everyone was still there after it stopped, and we even won in overtime

soo good lol

Of course allowing that would be shitty lol. But just annoying when you are going to win the match and then hit with the comm error

agreed there

it's just the way your post was worded made it seem like there's some no-brainer solution that should have already been implemented

"wow they still haven't fixed.."

I just don't think there's anything to fix, this is pretty much the ideal solution as annoying as it is when it happens

Impossible solution I'd like in online games like this would be a grace period of some sort. Every 12 hours (rough value) you would be allowed one disconnect. Anything after that and it's on you, bud.

Even that could be abused, but only by the literal worst people playing the game.

I think gaf really underestimates this weapon. It's not anywhere close to top tier but in the right hands it can be really deadly (although this could be said about any weapon). I've seen some people do some amazing stuff with this weapon but I agree that majority of the people who use it has no idea how to play it at its full potential.

Maybe I'm just ranting again, but I HATE HATE HATE solo ranked with a fiery passion. Thinking what the heck, I'm 10 points away from A+, how hard can it be? I had a great win streak in solo just a few days ago.

So the game stacks the deck against me, first with a team of A- pitted against A+, and THEN to really rub it in, another team of A- but this time against a fully stacked S ranked team. I'm not intimidated by S ranks, but quite frankly I can usually play on their level, while the rest of my team simply died over and over again, even while I was keeping 3 of the other team distracted with constant base invasion. Nothing is more frustrating then seeing NONE of the opposing team anywhere near the splat zone while all my teammates are there, and yet we don't have control!

So yeah, it took me 6 losses to finally locate a team that could keep their deaths within a single digit number, and after one victory, well, I have to stop for dinner time.

Why do I torture myself with this game?

I guess you missed my rant about this from the other day? My issue hasn't even been my teammates, the quality of players in A/A+ seems like it's really improved over recent weeks, my issue is the teams the matchmaking seems to deliberately create to hold you back.

Aside from the A,A-,A,A- vs A+,A+,S,S+ stupidity it slaps together it will do things like put the only two chargers in the lobby on a single team on a charger friendly map or all the rollers on a single team on a roller friendly map, etc. I actually posted on Discord the other night right when I hit A70 that the bullshit was about to start and just like clockwork *boom* it was impossible for me to get into a non-mixed rank lobby regardless of how many times I quit and rejoined the rooms I was in. I'd been in lobbies with all A ranks until then too.

It happens whenever I get close to ranking up and I'm used to it now but it doesn't make it any less annoying. I hate it when games create artificial challenges under the guise of "oh well, the RNG must hate you!"

For me it's just "maps that don't suck for rollers" and "maps that suck for rollers".
puhleez, the only map I think sucks for rollers (not dynamo) is Bluefin Depot (Turf War and Splat Zones) and Camp Triggerfish (Turf War and Splat Zones).

Meanwhile Neo-Underpass, Blackbelly, and Flounder Heights are roller friendly.

u gotta git gud nathan

I'm inclined to believe that the ranked matchmaking IS designed to throw tougher teams the better you do, especially when you're close to ranking up.

Yesterday I got to A+ 91! And they threw Japan's best at me lol.

Also if you're playing with me in pubs, I think I'm lagging a bit...maybe it's just me.

I think I was ranting about the matchmaking yesterday lol

I mean, I'm B+, and I lost count of how many times the game put me in a room with everyone else A- or higher, or when it teams me with 3 other B+, while the other team has 4 A's

Its also frustrating when you lose more than 10 points because of your teammates' ranks, while you were clearly carrying them

I like bluefin and camp as a roller :D you just have to flank more often in those maps if we're talking ranked (and not die at the zone in bluefin). Turf war though is where it's fun, placing beacons and jumping around constantly lol

I think that the mall works really well for rollers too. Plenty of places to get sneaky splat kills and flick people to death safely. You can also get plenty of easy kills just rolling up those half-pipes on unsuspecting squids/kids.

I just played on a A+, A+, S, S+ team against a A, A-, B+, B+ team in Splat Zones. Thankfully we won but I got a whopping +4 for the win. :|

That's why I can't stand mixed lobbies, it only works out in your favor in the rare instance that you're on the lower ranked team and win :/

Haha, no I saw your rant as well, I guess it's pretty much the same song and dance for everybody trying to rank up. The charger matchmaking in particular really makes my blood boil on maps like Mall and Bluefin, as I'm not sure I've ever had a decent charger on any of my solo ranked teams, ever. They're always on the other one.

That strategy works better for any weapon with range on those maps.

And I'm talking about a setting where everybody is playing on point, for the most part in Turf War, people aren't and overextend.

Triggerfish is one of those maps that never shows up on rotation when I play these days. I don't think it's *that* bad for rollers but you do have to basically play defense.

Bluefin Depot is on Turf Wars almost every time tho, go to hell Nintendo.

As for those "roller friendly maps", I wouldn't call them "roller friendly"; for me, a "roller friendly" map would be one where .96 Gals and Heavy Splatlings do not exist. There is no map where those don't exist and therefore there is no such thing as a roller friendly map.

Sorry whoever was on my team last match. A storm just rolled in and took out my connection during the last minute...

yep im done with ranked unless its rainmaker too many stupid people to depend on in the other 2 modes atleast with rainmaker i can do things on my own since the rainmaker can do damage.

It's so frustrating dealing with a bad team. I admit sometimes that I'm the bad guy, but I just had a series of bad teams (and a disconnect) and I think I need a break from ranked, lol. Or, I need to learn how not to care about rank.

Through some divine miracle of getting competent teamates constantly, luck determination, and clutch suction bomb spam, I finally hit B+ from 29 points and made 45k. Time to quit while I'm ahead and stick with turf war for the rest of the night.

We did talk about this some in Discord yesterday (early morning?) and I'm still looking forward to Carbon Roller Deco with the seeker rush, H-3 Nozzlenose with suction bomb and echolocator and the Zink Mini Splatling, which comes with disruptor and bubbler. I need a bubbler weapon stat lol.

Indeed we did! I know exactly what you mean about the bubbler. I find the JR lacking, and I'm no Ryechu so I'm not going to be squiffering anytime soon. It's funny because I'm essentially a brush specialist and I find the bubbler pretty bad on the Inkbrush. Could just be because of the awful sub: mine.

I feel likeit works a lot better on the open maps and with a lot of run speed ups. Flounder is kind of perfect for it though so it doesn't make sense that so few people use it there.

I think when the smaller splatling gets unlocked you're going to see a lot of people start using the OG splatling again after getting a better understanding of it.
