I can only recommend to all of you to play the Singleplayer and collect all of the scrolls. :b

A writer for the Swedish mag Gamereactor, who is reviewing the game, posted some quick impressions saying that even though he had little to no anticipation for the game during it's reveal, he's found himself a victim to the "just one more round" symptom.

I really can't wait to play the full game.

Same counts for me, lol.

I watched so many footage of this game already, will I be disappointed when I finally have it in my hands or is a good game good no matter what?

I have a question as well, what exactly are the items you collect in single player to get new weapons for multiplayer? Or are the scrolls themselves what give new weapons?

I'm not saying the controls are perfect, but I really liked them in my time with the demo. People begging for dual sticks pro-controller support remind me a bit of when we use to hear people ask for 'Goldeneye' style control schemes in FPS.

The Pro controller is just more comfortable, lighter-weight, and has better battery life. I think that's why I'd love to use it for Splatoon.

With that said, I just ordered the gamepad battery enhances, so I should be good.

Ever since the Miiverse community link was shared, I've gained a bunch of new Miiverse followers and random friend request.

Same. And a load of messages asking how I got Splatoon and if I can give them Splatoon.

Managed to get my first ranked battles this eve. Not sure what to think. Maybe it needs to grow on me, but I think I prefer Turf Wars.

Hey, how'd you get Splatoon? Can you hook me up?!

Your uncle happens to work at Nintendo?

I've seen multiple streams scheduled for that time. Embargo must be ending then.

The embargo for live-stream lifts today. We can stream an hr of gameplay. I'll do a stream this week, but not sure when. Otherwise, you'll see me participating with these folks.

Man, Im going to a convention for the weekend so I'll miss the next playtest. I was packing up my dorm all weekend last time (and couldnt connect to splatoon with dorm wifi) so I missed all three of the first playtests. Guess I'm just having bad luck. :/

So here I am, laying in bed, when I'm suddenly jolted out of my rest by an annoying thought:

Where do inklings live?

We learned in the direct that inklings can't turn into humans until age 14. And inklings ALSO can't live in water (as confirmed by the gameplay itself).

So - that means there are just giant vats of colored ink in the Splatoon universe where inkling families live, right? And those over 14 can leave to go to the "outside world", so to speak, but always have to return to their ink vat in order to see any younger siblings or to eventually have children of their own?

And what's more, why is it that inklings can only swim freely in their own colored ink? AND WHAT'S MORE THAN THAT, HOW CAN THEY MORPH TO ADAPT TO A COLOR OF INK THAT WAS PREVIOUSLY HARMFUL TO THEM BETWEEN MATCHES?

While I'm on the topic - do are inklings immortal? Do they perpetually reincarnate after being "splatted"? What does the inkling spirit go through between the moment of splat to the moment of reappearing at your base?

Inkling biology and DNA must be supremely versatile and wonky, and I want some answers.

The game also becomes extremely dark when you realize that each match is two warring factions of the same species battling to terraform the land, canvasing the earth in a substance that makes the area near uninhabitable for the other group to live in.

actually initial e3 interviews seemed to indicate that this was basically just inkling mad sports entertainment.

like skateboarding, only you can turn into a squid so

Guys guys guys

SPLATOON SKATE

HOLY SHIT
BEST
IDEA
EVER
I was thinking last week how I wish the hub had a larger hub world. Have a giant island as the hub and have the island be influenced by Japan, California, Hawaii and other Pacific beaches. Have the main city in the center of the island be like Tokyo meets San Francisco. You could skate, rollerblade or bike through the city incorporate the ink mechanic to it as well as some sort of trick system. Maybe blasting ink on the side of walls will allow you to skate on them. Have different outlets, battle locations, single player missions, minigames and collectibles scattered throughout the city. Allow you to create your own clothing outlet where you can create and sell your own clothes. Also incorporate some sort of graffiti system with the ink to make some cool graffiti art on buildings.

....I think I just thought up Nintendo's GTA.

Why would an Inkling skate/bike when they can turn into high-speed wall-climbing ink-surfing squids?

Because they'd have to make sure they spray their entire path beforehand with ink if they ever wanted to do this ability or come to complete stops midway through their trip to spray down more ink. Compared to Roller blades, skateboards or bikes that you can go fast down hills, skate parks, streets, etc. and spray ink without stopping.
