Well, uh I dunno, might it be because it's in a jungle?
Not just that though. I meant everything... not just the environments; the whole thing has this sort of sepia like tone to it, except in green. Granted, it looks like it's on purpose... I just don't like it really.

Someone can't read.

Yah that was my mistake.

That's only happens in the jungle. When you get to the mountains area the color tone goes to orange/yellow. They always choose a dominant colors to fit each game area. MGS was blue, MGS2 was blue/green for the tanker, and orange for the Big Shell (outdoor) green (indoor), and MGS3 was green for the forest and orange/yellow for the mountains.

Technically Chaos Theory looks better than MGS3 but artistically MGS3 rapes CT. There is some stuff in MGS3 that is technically awesome. Anyway the main point is now that Team Kojima has the most powerful hardware on their hands they will show their technical skills.

Yeah exactly. I loved that. Genius.

I think MGS and SC are rivals to a certain extent. I'm sure Kojima and his production is very aware of their games, and so are the SC dev teams. The E3 MGS4 teaser with Snake wearing a 3-eyed night goggle was obviously an intended pun right there ;-)

Fanboys can go headbutt each other, but in terms of creativity, I think it's a healthy competition, and in the long run, makes games better.

(As for me, Splinter Cell is the stealth game of choice. I see the game as Thief: Stealth Evolved, I just love the whole lights & shadows aspect of these games.)

Best part of that was how he sounded like a giant robot with how loud each of his steps were.

I've always got the impression that the developers of both games respect each others games a lot, unlike a lot of the fanboys in this thread. I would expect Splinter Cell next gen to be technically one of the best looking series over the next few years but MGS will probably have the edge artistically.

I've always been a big MGS fan so MGS4 is right at the top of my most wanted list just behind Oblivion. I didn't really enjoy Splinter Cell until the third game but if they take Chaos Theory's gameplay as a starting point and carry it forward and improve on it for the 4th game then it should be fantastic.
