He grows on you, surprisingly.
NNID?
Man, I don't even know. I've never played my WiiU online other than a few Tekken Tag 2 matches. How do I find out my NNID? I'd be down for some co-op or Spies/Mercs...
He does. I miss Ironside a lot but if they must have Sam at the forefront then the new guy isn't that bad. Little too generic but definitely not the worst. He grows on you, surprisingly.

The whole team actually grew on me. Something was still missing (maybe too much military mumbo jumbo?) but I wouldn't mind talking another tour in the Paladin.
And maybe someone here can help me understand this one. I've noticed some mercs don't stay tazed as long with the shock crossbow as others... Is there a suit option I'm missing or how does this work? Some seem to be out of it in less than a second while others are tazed for what seems like an eternity. Is it armor rating? Or is there a specific piece that I'm missing or? (And god, allowing melee while the merc is tazed = one of the worst design choices EVER)
I'm the opposite on Sam's new VO. It just felt progressively more out of place and out of character to me. But, thats coming from a more 'hardcore' fan. It just didn't feel like this was Sam Fisher.
Overall the game was enjoyable, a step in the right direction with regards to moving more towards a suitable playstyle for old school fans.
Spy vs Mercs is a huge step backwards. Spy melee has ruined the game imo.

I don't think there's any anti-tazer option, but it could depend on armor rating and/or where you hit them with the bolt. I know in singleplayer and co-op guys with helmets and heavier armor do not get tazed if you hit them in body armor.
I believe that the better armor you have, the more resistant to stun you are.
I agree though, new Sam is definitely not old Sam. It's a reimagining of the character. I've started to see it as a 007 situation. I just try not to dwell on how great Ironside's Sam was, as comparing the two just hampered my enjoyment of the game.
I hated Daniel Craig at first, but now he's my favorite Bond.
My problem is just that there's no levity whatsoever with the new Sam. He seems a lot like Jack Bauer except with Jack you really understood the underpinnings of that character and his motivation.
With new Sam I'm not buying that he'd be as dedicated to the mission as they are writing him, especially coming off of Conviction where they tried to humanize his character a bit. Now they've really stripped him of any humanity, and he's basically just your generic down to business military character.
Don't get me wrong I do wish they would have just moved Sam into Lambert's position or something. I've been with Ironside since the original Xbox deal, only missing out on his PSP and Double Agent adventures. I can see where you're coming from.I'm the opposite on Sam's new VO. My NNID is Whoompthereitis. Feel free to add me, any WiiU players out there
I found it works much better if you position the Gamepad flat and look down at it. Once you understand the level of movement required, it becomes easy to do.

I'll help.NNID: keakster
Looking to get through the Briggs and Charlie co-op missions
Is there anyway to fully ghost the? I'm thinking no, but I got Panther and the Youtube playthrough of that one dude went ghost with no Panther popping up but he knocked out a bunch of dudes. :/ Not sure if I should go that route since it takes out the bonus for not touching anyone but...Jail assault
If you wait it out long enough they'll change state and you can stealth KO them for ghost points. If you don't wait until they change state you get combat KOs and if you leave them alone you get Panther evade points.Actually inif you're fast, you can avoid getting Panther points there. But yeah, the part I'm at I'm thinking is impossible to ghost which is stupid because if I'mthe Penthouse/Panic Roomsitting on a pipe, you'd think they'd either look up or start clearing rooms one by one thereby letting me slip through.
The first person sections in the single player are absolutely killing my desire to continue playing. Any time I fire up this game I end up playing spies vs mercs instead.
5-7 minutes got me through all of them altogether. But then again I used my gun. Those sections don't last long, maybe 5-7 mins each tops.

Had some amazing matches tonight with J Mizzel.
I know I can be bossy, but there is a technique behind why my team wins 95% of the time.

Wii UWhich platform do you guys play on?
You meanDamn, that exfil. Couldn't do anything but Panther through it.disappointing on that front if it's true. I mean I saw "exploration" bonuses but no real avoiding enemies routes. Is there actually any alt-routes once you fast rope down? Outside of the basement that seems to be a movie set, there's no real alternate routes to Briggs
After 6 missions, I've really gotten into the groove of things. This is the old splinter cell I miss! (Reminder: last game I played was Chaos Theory). Having so much fun.
I've been busy with work lately and missed this one. I've enjoyed all the previous SCs to varying degrees. Is this one worth picking up or should I just skip it? I have a huge back log at the moment.
How is it on the 360?
Only a few missions in, but quite good so far.
Are there no checkpoints in side missions? I was initially excited to see optional missions, but I tried one of Grim's solo and it seemed like I had to do the entire thing in one go. I can understand having no checkpoints for co-op, but none for solo would really suck.
Glad you're getting into it! So far I've yet to see someone get farther in and not start to enjoy it. Gameplay is just so satisfying.
It's really a lot of fun. I'll be honest, I've been waiting a long time to play something similar to the old Splinter Cell games. Been really burnt out on all the FPS shooters. So this is a real blast.
There is, but now that I'm replaying the campaign those sections take on a new feel. I have a much better handle on the mechanics and as a result those sections are playing out very different.I love that you can stealth your way through a lot of levels. Right now I'm at the third level, American Consumption.
The only thing I disliked in the beginning was that escort mission and that accompanying action sequence to defend your position. Such a shame. I had a blast with the stealth and then they throw that shit in. I hope further missions don't have much of that stuff.
The WiiU version needs a patch asap.. Sigh.. My WiiU freezing on Spies Vs. Mercs mode is so damn silly...
You can play all of the game as ghost. Even the part in the train. Took me like an hour to figure it out but if you use smoke before you enter and wait they will change stance and you can knock them out for stealth points.
There is no point in the campaign where you are forced to get panther or assault points.

For instance, if you avoid detection during the escort part of that mission there are no reinforcements and no "hold your position" segment.
There are still plenty of forced action situations though, but while the game insists on throwing you into a meat grinder at times, you'll find that you don't have to play them that way.
