LOL YEAH THE EL DIABLO TRANSFORMATION

wtf, no hinting towards that whatsoever

There was a really brief scene at some point where Diablo's face flashed into whatever his demon transformation thing is.

Honestly can't remember where or when, but I specifically remember seeing the fire face before he actually did it. I want to say during his introduction or something, I'm not sure.

"Coming to pick you up soon babe. Be ready"

A text a concerned boyfriend sends as he waits to pick his girlfriend up from a night out.

FROM THE JOKER.

pretty sure there was no punctuation which for some reason irked me. like one of the texts was a really bad run-on sentence

Yeah, I remember seeing that and having no idea what it was. It might have been during the bar scene.

Not quite that bad. But close!

After the first fight and Diablo just bails out, Boomerang confronts him with the "ooooooooooo fiyah!" line. Funniest part imo.

I really didn't like it.

My main issues are,

1) the barrage of soundtrack choices are terrible and painfully adolescent and made me cringe.

2) wafer thin plot

3) easily the worst villain I've seen yet on screen, it doesn't fit with the tone of the film whatsoever, actually no, that honour still goes to Green Lantern

4) Joker is pants, he barely does anything menacing and contributes nothing to the film, take him away and you've lost nothing

5) not much chemistry or connection between the group

6) cringey dialogue

7) boring action scenes

8) poor desperate attempts to add back story to some of the characters to make us "care"

There were a couple of good things, Amanda waller and Harley were entertaining.

Did I miss anything good in the after credits scene?

Amanda Waller and Bruce Wayne are at a table talking.

Amanda's asking for protection from Bruce.

In return he gets the file on Metahumans (shows Flash and Aquaman sheets)

Amanda's like "Not sure why you'd need them"

Bruce is like "Looking to make some new friends."

Amanda's like "You looking tired Bruce"

Bruce says something (can't remember)

Amanda: "Bitch I know you're Batman"

Joystick pls.

"You believe in friends, I believe in leverage.

You look tired, you should stop working nights."

"Pack it up. Let my friends handle it."

It was one of the best scenes in the film, great dynamic.

I actually really enjoyed it. The opening few minutes is a bit weak and some of the dialogue is a bit sloppy but overall had a lot of fun. Solid 4/5 superhero film.

That ^ doesn't sound all that great.

I'm honestly quite shocked to see so much love in here for the bar scene. When he uttered the "we're nice on the outside, ugly on the inside" line i nearly melted into my seat from cringing so much, not to mention Harley explaining her joke to the audience straight after.

Letos Joker was actually the one thing I kinda enjoyed about the movie. Wouldn't mind seeing more of him

Killer Croc was lame. when he made the movements into the water during the final battle I honestly wanted to laugh. Didn't really enjoy most his dialogue.

First scene with Enchantras when she changed in front of the military folk I thought she might be kinda cool. But she went kinda down hill as the movie went on.

Did Amanda Walker really need to kill her employees?

Harley idk didn't care for a lot of her dialogue

the villian plot was just kinda lame to me

Random little things, might sound silly: Deadshot apprently got a haircut when they gave him his gear back, and Harley had time to apply nail polish and chip it in that time frame... Idk

Which is rather telling, to be honest.

But you're right, it was amazing. Viola outdoes everyone in this film. Hope there's more confrontation between her and Bruce.

Joystick nailed it word for word

He just forgot the end part where Waller lights Bruce on fire

This is why superheroes shouldn't have capes.

I kinda hated that they actually show Harley applying her "New Jersey trashface" makeup.

It's kinda like adding holes/fades to your jeans or getting a tattoo of "damaged" on your forehead.

Yeah agreed there. Very much want Davis to return, she was probably the best actor in the entire film.

It was one of my favourite scenes just because I enjoyed Harley's reaction to El Diablo's backstory. One of the only parts of the movie that actually moved me in some way.

But yeah, that line/joke was bleh.

Easily.

Plus it is nice to have a black woman being the most competent person in the film and a major character.

The rest of the film is all over the place with its racial politics though. Katana in particular. Yikes.

If this gets a sequel, hopefully they can bring in some more cannon fodder for the actual suicide aspect of suicide squad. Kinda lame that only two of them ended up dying.

Bruce ends with "Shut it down, or my friends will do it for you." Some implication they'll clash in the future.

Batman "kissing" Harley was such a weird moment. Like it was filmed more as if Batman was intentionally kissing her than giving CPR. But the way it ends makes it seem like Harley tricked Batman into kissing her but she never grabs him before it happens so it just looks like Batman goes in for the smooch and she likes it.

Seriously this. I have no idea what that was. No way that was CPR, Batman.

2 out of how many, though? No need to off everybody.

Also I'm all on board for Suicide Squad vs Justice League because it'd mean Smith v Affleck and that sounds fun

At least someone actually died. The (N52) comic is fake out death city. I don't think anyone has really died yet.

Yeah I was thinking that the next Batman movie would be good if Deadshot was a main villain. Joker can be something on the side (As long as Harley is in the movie).

It really bothers me how DC both wants to sex up Harley Quinn and not show the abuse she takes. They had a really good opportunity here to show a woman gradually saying 'no' to an abusive relationship and thus taking back her life from someone who has basically Stockholm'd her (like she is doing in the comics now).

Mark Hamill got second billing in The Force Awakens despite limited screentime. He also has played the Joker. Coincidence?!

Fuck.

The Harley thing felt handled really poorly in the movie. I have no background on her character so I have nothing else to go on. It seemed like Joker tortured/warped her into loving him and it felt like the film almost romanticized that relationship

Margot Robbie is amazing.
Will Smith is great.
Soundtrack is awesome.

Leto is shit.
The story is an utter mess.
It's way too long.

Overall, eh. Not awful, not very good. Two characters carry it.

I wish we could have a Nolan Batman film with Margot and Heath. That'd be awesome.

Errr... Electric guy died! I think. One of the Lime / Light sisters died if I remember right. Some ice dude lost an arm. Did Black Spider survive as well?

I actually don't think Diablo's dead. His fire god (monster?) powers are all over the place, he could have very well survived an explosion.

RIP Ropeguy tho

Another thing that irked me was the way Enchantress constantly waved her arms and legs around, she looked ridiculous, and a lot like one of those inflatable wavey arm things you see in car garages or on Family Guy.
