This has nothing to do with spring '05 anime, but since it's also anime discussion thread....
I'm assuming most people here watched RahXephon? Well whoever did, exactly when the hell is it supposed to get better? I barely got through the first 2 episodes just now. I don't think I can finish this DVD tonight. :lol
This is the same Bones that did FMA!? Scrapped Princess!? Wolf's Rain!? Cowboy Bebop movie!? o_o

argh that's discouraging. I have 24 more episodes to watch. Hopefully it gets better. Many anime take a few episodes to get rolling at first. I guess I had really high expectations for this one.

Yeah RahXephon is awesome but most people fail to realize it's not really a mecha show, but a love story.

I kind of like Tsubasa so far. That said, I went into it completely cold, and I honestly don't give a damn about CLAMP, so perhaps if I were a fan going in I'd be rather upset. As it is, I'm finding it enjoyable enough so far. In fact, I'm going to go watch episode 3 right now.
The only problem I really have with it so far is the background music can sometimes WAY overpower a scene.
Also, I should probably get around to watching RahXephon someday.

:lol I just like fantasy stories, set in other universes and what not. Don't blame me, blame my interdimensional warphole outside my window.
And I got to about ep 15 in Rahx and I just couldn't bare it any more. Love stories, blue blood aliens and mechas being born from eggs? I'll give it to them that the animation and art direction is good, but many of the fights, ugh. Take to mind that I watched this when it got fansubbed at first, so I don't really remember much.

First Eureka 7 episode was surprisingly good, great animation and production overall, looks like it's gonna be fun if nothing else. I'm not really in love with Bones but can't believe how some ppl putting down RahXephon, that's BY FAR best thing they've done.
As for Basilisk, I'm not sure if this show is trying to be amusing trash like Ninja Scroll TV with better production or is it aiming for something more serious. Anyway first episode wasn't bad either.
First fansub of Honey&Clover supposedly coming soon (Moritaaaaaa), I think this will be my fave show this season along with Futakoi Alt and Emma.

Aquarion is just way too ridiculous (I'm coming!) mainly why I'm watching Plus the OP is great, my favorite from this season along with Eureka 7s and Trinity Blood.
I think actually, the CG integration in Aquarion isn't bad at all, it's leagues ahead of other shows that do the same thing, but of course a minimalistic approach towards CG in animation will always be preferable.

Man, is Honey and Clover ever getting subbed? Im more interested in watching this after finding Yousuke Kuroda is writing it.
Besides, Is there anything else of interest that has yet to air though? Maybe Trinity Blood, but thats likely to suck and I refuse to believe Gonzo can make two decent shows in one season (and is already possibly liscenced along with Speed Grapher.)

Kurau has solid character work and is far more of a sci-if drama than an action series. There's awesome music and I really liked the interaction between the characters. Kenran was meant to be a light-hearted sci-fi pirate adventure, there's really nothing epic about it, but it's still FAR funnier than many other retarded shounen shows out there and the characters are actually likable and optimistic instead of stupid whiners and wankers in so many other shows.

Trinity Blood is the show I've been waiting to watch from the beginning, and i hope it doesn't dissapoint.

Bones is great yes. But come on. If Bones really is > * then all their animes better stand out from the rest instead of just being lost with other average anime like it out there. Scrapped Princess, stand out. Rahxephon, stand out. FMA, stand out (though I hated it). Angelic Layer, Bebop, stand out. Hell I would even go as far to say as Wolf's Rain a great anime. But then we get animes like Kurau and Mars Daybreak that just finished its run without anyone noticing it. Are those bad animes? I don't think so. But really boring IMO. I really expect much more from Bones. But like everybody said, if an anime is made by Bones, you must always check it out. And that's what I'm doing with Eureka 7.

Fantastic Children gets lots of love (in this forum at least) though of course, it's not as popular as say Naruto
. And just about everyone who likes an anime series, licensed or not, will find a way to watch it. And judging from the people who has seen it (plus in my opinion also), Kurau and Mars Daybreak are really just average. Even Twin Spica takes even more time for it to come out but it gets more love than Kurau and Mars Daybreak combined.Bones still great but not > *. ^_^

Asahina's death was one of the most powerful scenes I've ever seen in any anime. I just stared at the TV, jaw dropped. I'm listening to hemisphere as I typed this and I think my eyes are almost tearing up. :'(

You doubted my anime rankings, didn't you? Well, at least you're converted over to RahXephon fandom now. Great show, great incomplete soundtracks, awesome box...and you still haven't seen the last two episodes!
As for Kurau and Mars Daybreak...well, I obviously don't think the world of them, but Kurau had the heart and Mars Daybreak had the soul. When BONES puts those together, they get acts of genius. When they don't...well, the result still has enough merit to be worth a watch.
