Dresden's favorite anime is back!
Except now they are ambiguously gay girls in ridiculous clothing instead of ambiguously gay guys in ridiculous clothing.
As if it makes that much difference!

Oh wow, this shit got reeeealy uncomfortable reeeeeeeeeealy fast... I even jumped a bit when he started knocking shit over. It's doing pretty well, framing the romance without condoning it.
The team seemed to work pretty hard to keep it neutral.

It's important that the show actually makes you uncomfertable, because in many shows with similar plots they don't try and do that. They just act like it's some kind of hetronormative relationship.

werent they all in a dream? its like sex scenes only not

the first one was, second was real but it wasn't actually her (was some sex android).

Still cracks me up that they got a different English VA for the girl to just do those scenes lol

As if there weren't enough space-filling LOLNANAMILOL episodes already, 24 was entirely superfluous and even recaps prior filler episodes just in case you missed 'em the first time round somehow!

I even like Nanami a lot when the writers/other characters aren't busy figuratively
or literally
pissing on her.
Star of the show, really.

NO! DON'T SKIP ANYTHING!

Heathens.
For this show it's a pretty important rule.

I'll admit to being vaguely curious about whether censoring really improves Kite enough to make it watchable and even artistic, since the one dude on ANN podcast goes on about it so much.

But not really curious enough to actually watch it.
Kite has some god damn amazing action sequences, but that shouldn't be enough to make someone watch it.

14-15 pages since I was last on is crazy, just caught up.

I've nearly finished Fumoffu, is that the only FMP worth checking out, or are the others enjoyable as well?

Oh! Edo Rocket 3

Damn if there isn't a ton of personality to be had in this show. I'm only on ep 3, but I feel like I've known some of these characters forever. Always a good sign in my book.
It did take an emotional turn though, and here I went into this expecting a straight comedy.
It’s damn fine show. Damn fine.
Dresden said:
So they're doing a live-action adaptation of Arakawa... and also a movie. Did anyone even watch that show?
It didn’t even need a second season. Why’s it getting so much attention?

Yeah, which is why I'm impressed. They stretched it out a bit in episode 5, but overall it's pretty solid and doesn't really pander.

The other FMP's are good but it's a pschitzophrenic show if you don't take to the srs business and you love the high school hijinks.

It's very campy. Asides from how absurd it is, though, it's not that good.

That said, aesthetically, there's something to appreciate about all the uncensored nipples.
Sometimes crazy stuff just isn't that interesting. It's a fine line.

Then again, at least it isn't super-dark Nagai with the child murder and the rape and the cannibalism and the getting turned on by lions.
Halycon said:
And here I thought it'd take 90 episode for Godai to pass the test.

Molasses moves faster than Maison Ikkoku.
Well, at least more stuff happens then in KnT.

Pffft. Those Nanami comedy episodes are so unfunny and yet they try so hard. Her actual dramatic arc is good, though.
Where they trying to be funny? I guess some of the them were, looking back on it. Then again, all I can remember is the
egg stuff
.

I'll probably give them a go.

Do Sousuke and Chidori maintain their Fumoffu personalities?

Eve no Jikan - the movie

Great stuff. The characters are just so well-realized and compelling. And the added scenes really improve it. Bottom line, you can't call yourself an anime fan if you don't want to watch this.
I’ve already seen the series, so this is pretty low down on my ‘watch list’, even though I plan to get around to it sometime.
Miri said:
You'll get more enjoyment out of it if you're already accustomed to the characters and their respective wackiness, but Fumoffu can work as a stand-alone comedy unit.
Some say that’s all you need to watch from the franchise.

Nanami's Egg, Cowbell of Happiness, The Great Curry High Trip (how could you forget exploding curry jex?!), that one episode where Touga boxes a kangaroo...jesus how did I remember those titles...all trying and failing to be funny. They're more awkward than anything. I always want to skip them personally.

It's better when they integrate offbeat humor into the srs bsns, like the student council meeting held in the midst of a baseball game being played on a roof. Or the student council meeting where Touga is throwing an outline of knives at an un-fazed Miki. Or any student council meeting, really. Those were awesome.
Hey, Nanami's Egg is serious business. Not to mention there's nothing better than impromptu Kangaroos.

I agree about the curry though.

But the urge is too strong when it comes to recap episodes in general. :(

I watched those five straight recap episodes in Fist of the North Star. ><

I have a nasty habit of never skipping anything, even pointless recap episodes.

That's hardcore man, I can't stand to watch magical girl transformations, that goes on for a solid 90 seconds. I blame Sailor Moon.

Y'all insane. Stop being so crazy, you could be spending that time improving the world!

I mean, watching more anime.

Koi Kaze 6
You know, it's kind of strange, without the context of the older brother's lust, this could just as easily be construed as a normal, loving sibling relationship. I mean, really the only issue is that Onii-chan wants to stick it in her pooper. It's almost feels like the romantic love bit is a deus ex machina.

Specials!?
Potemayo specials. It's 6 half sized episodes, but since the original ones were already split in two it's more like 3 normal ones.

And I guess the Working! announcement was
VHS tapes. They also made some weird genderbent and mixed up version of the cast. Damn you April Fools!
But maybe someone else with better understanding can look.

Really? Finally I can see Working! The way it was meant to be seen.

Ojiisan No Lampoo: I quite enjoyed this, and I look forward to more works from this project.

That isn't to say that it was some kind of masterpiece, but it was extremely solid and, importantly, based around a concept you'd rarely see tackled in a current anime series.

True. I enjoyed Hanamaru, but the endings were definitely the best part of the shows.

The first Soul Eater ending also had more effort put into it than most
Shaft
shows.
Speaking of Osamu Kobayashi, French website GAiNAX.FR published some days ago an interview with him conducted during the Japan Expo Sud 2011 celebrated in Marseille, France. In that interview he talks, among other things, about that Hanamaru Yōchien ending he worked on and especially about his close relationship and various projects with GAiNAX. I wanted to see more questions about other of his own works like Natsu no Sora, though. Anyway I'm definitely looking forward to his contribution in Dantalian no Shoka:

This is pure speculation for my part, but all of this little collaborations with his GAiNAX's friends (like Hiroyuki Imaishi or Natsu no Sora's character designer Yusuke Yoshigaki) leads me to believe that maybe Osamu Kobayashi will work full-time on a future project of his own for the studio. That is what I want!

As someone who reads a number of blogs and also follows a small (put active) number of anime-related twitter feeds, I never see any of the stuff you mention until you bring it up. Where do you get all your stuff from?

Nonoriri

If your name is Nonoriri you have to go buy Nanami's tampons.
