But the stuff that made me laugh the most is using an image from Bleach for the Jojo's Bizarre Adventures OVA. Funny as hell, how could that kind of mistake happen to someone?

I'd say it's almost safe to assume she didn't watch all 500 of them or a lot of them were quite a while back. Given that a google image search could deceive one to make this sort of mistake. Hell I found One Piece pics when I tried it just now.

Even making a list of 100 essential anime movies would probably be pushing it.

You might even find it hard to populate the list with 100 anime movies period if you insist on a definition of movie as something which was shown in a theater.

First it looks like Kirei's going to smile, then he looks all serious as if he's trying to hide his laughter and is overcompensating, then he just looks kind of bored like Rin's taking too damn long and he has a bunch of shit to do so can he go now.

Ah, I see, I see. Will give it a read from that point then since it doesn't sound like it's worth reading through the whole Genshiken manga after seeing the anime.
I don't remember much about the other parts of the manga, but I think the anime is a fairly faithful adaptation in that respect.

I finally decided to check out the first SatoJun Venice videos and, beyond some of the travel porn stuff, it was interesting to see what he learned as he went through the city and rode on a Gondola first hand.

So there's a lot of photo-referencing:

But it was funny because they had already produced some episodes by that time and after the trip, Sato decided to go back and redo all the sculling animations because they got it wrong before they went on this trip. He even noticed how the water would reflect light onto an oar and decided to add that into the show as well, although to be honest, I didn't really notice that the million times that I watched the show.

Now I feel like rewatching the whole series again though. Must resist.

The funny thing is that
Rin was the only character to be suspicious of Kirei from the very beginning. She's already a much better judge of character than her father.

To be fair to Tokiomi, Kirei's own father had no idea about what Kirei was really like either. Kirei even comments on that after he's dug out of the rubble by naked Girugamesh, that his own father didn't know anything about him. That being said, Tokiomi ended up being pretty worthless all around, if Rin ever found out how useless her father was in the Fourth Holy Grail War she would be pretty pissed considering how competent a mage she already is as a high-school student during the events of F/SN.

Damn son. That definitely wasn't in Kimi ni Todoke. lol
That paper gave the impression that girls liked the "concept" of sex as opposed to the actual act of it I suppose, which I guess begs the question of why it's not reflected in the anime.
(Beyond the simple reason that 99% of anime is made for otaku manbabies, I mean).

I mean, I don't mind idealized romances - since I am a fan of KnT after all - but if you make a manga about people who swap spit with each other but don't otherwise do anything, it just seems weird.

Maybe Junichi sucking on the back of Morishima's knee and implied hotel sex is the best they can do without getting too lurid or scaring the otaku away. lol
Just because it's not in one series doesn't mean it isn't (or used to be, recently, anyway) relatively common in the genre, which it is.

(Beyond the simple reason that 99% of anime is made for otaku manbabies, I mean).
You mean this for shonen/etc. stuff, I assume... but yeah, that would be most of the reason.

Hmm... I see how it is... lol
What? You were wrong. :)

Imagine a giant green guy in a school girl uniform playing MJ!
... Green?

The latter, yeah, haha. Thanks for catching that, I've edited the post to reflect it.
Yeah, that's what I thought you meant.

Essentially when the animators skimp on the look of the characters as a shortcut for whatever reason, budgetary or time. Re-l's off-model moments were really sporadic. This medium shot of Re-l and Pino isn't the best example but you can certainly see that some detail is missing from Re-l's nose, the lower structure of her face is a bit unusual. It doesn't look entirely like Re-l but gives the viewer enough semblance to make the deduction that it is. TVTropes does a better job at explaining off-model than I do.
Oh, just something about animation, not the actual characters or something.

I agree with this. It does seem like the show that would benefit from a rewatch.
Yeah, it's definitely a complex enough series that you're unlikely to notice everything on your first time through it. Nothing wrong with that though. I know opinions on the series are mixed, but I definitely thought it was good.

Don't kill yourself yet, there's so much to live for, like pretending that you never watched this series...

I'm only messing. I was taking the statement "other girl == other girl" literally. I haven't even seen Love Hina.
Ah. Love Hina's good, try it... :)

Well it kind of makes sense that Lancaster was exiled from the rest of Planet England.
It's definitely the Star Wars theory on planetary design. Eh, why not, though... I've never really minded it.

We need a AKB0048 RPG games. Unfortunately it would be on the 3DS and thus region locked.
Combination action-RPG and dance game, or something? Could work, perhaps.

Thinking back on FSN though, it involved mostly teenage characters. FZ involves mainly adults. Wouldnt it stand to reason that the characters in FSN would be more immature and "fanservicey"?
Immature maybe, but fanservicey? No, not really, unless you mean "anime characters are usually teenagers" is fanservice.

thats how Kino's journey explored "{countries". Kino always just went to one city that represented the way the country operated. It worked out well for that series. Theres really not a better way to do it in a short series.
Yeah, Kino's Journey used that same design as well. It does simplify things, of course, but it's not completely impossible, certainly. I mean, sure it is convenient that every place they run into in things with this kind of design can be easily distilled into a single setting or style, and that is unrealistic, but still... the alternative would be too complex for most any movie or tv series to handle. And having at least some single-environment planets makes reasonable sense, I think.

Also, is anyone still watching Sengoku Collection?? Isnt that supposed to go on for another cour?
That thing's not over, really? I guess everyone was hoping it was...

Actually, the funniest thing is that (FSN spoilers)
he looks all smug after giving Rin the dagger without knowing that the same dagger would be used to kill him a couple of years later.

this show is . . . too good.

gotta love the comedy and the way it balances that with escalating stakes and the feels. It's also the best looking show this season, and the hip, goofy aesthetics coupled with the vibrant colors really make shit pop. i'm sure tons of other folks have commented on the character developments and all the assorted quality writing perks. the way that they develop and now have bloomed feels natural and right. even with the off-the-wall premise it still feels grounded by the believable characters and the lack of dorama for the sake of dorama (fuck you apollon).

i am satisfied; let god nakamura lead the way as the FALSE IDOL apollon falls by the wayside. saving episode 11 for tomorrow. i'm going to be so sad when this is over. But thursday is going to be so hype.

Not bad, but nothing special, really. The whole show felt like a throwback to action anime from the 80's and 90's, visually and thematically, which is nice I guess, gives it a sort of a unique feel among anime today.
It was a bit rushed, a lot of it is left unresolved and I expected some more action (especially from the finale), but I wasn't bored and it kept me entertained for the 20 minutes per week I was willing to spend on it.
I guess I'll read the manga someday.

Let me just go over this one more time.

It's the worst thing you've ever experienced. It contains everything you hate in your anime.

How is this not a 1? What would an anime have to do to be a 1?

I'm guessing the 2 is because of brief. Bonus point and all.

Wow, dude did you read my mind? Right on. Yeah, Brief was really my only source of enjoyment so it deserved some praise for that.

To be a one, assuming I wouldn't drop it (ie forced to watch it cause of friend obligation or something, like P&S), the anime would just have to be plain bad, really slow and dull filled with ugly characters, ugly art, ugly animation, terrible and unlikable characters, a plot I couldn't care for, essentially anime like Honey and Clover, or something with absolutely no redeeming factors and just barf inducing like Ikkitousen or Blood-C.

Xin and Diao are hilarious, there were so many good parts, all of the interaction parts are often unforgettable as well. Xin is definitely making this anime fun. The music while running to the destination was nice. Though the best exchange was whom would carry whom with Xin and Sei.

Cant wait to see how he defeats Muta, that dark aura

Been watching Daily Lives of Highschool Boys. This is some funny stuff. What's most weird for me is that I cant really tell who the main character is LOL.

Watched 7 episodes so far, and was thinking of watching Steins Gate next.
What's AnimeGAF's consensus on Steins Gate?
