Now this is something I can get behind.
Daryl chose it as his number one anime of all time and in the segment where he explained his choice he said something along the lines of "even though I know a variety of militant feminists I have never heard anyone make the argument that Do You Remember Love is sexist." He used the same tone of voice that Ira Glass used when he was talking to Mr. Daisey over why they had to pull the Apple episode of This American Life. The tone of voice that makes you sound like you're about to kill someone.
For some reason I listened all the way to the end of the second ANN Cast about the 80's. It was just about worth it to hear Tim pick up and discuss some rather more obscure titles. I really feel like watching Time Stranger, Goglo 13 (not obscure, obviously), Cobra: The Movie and Night on the Galactic Railroad.
Furries in my AMG! anime?
Is it worth mentioning that Daryl's name was brought up and dragged through the mud as a staunch supporter of sexism in anime and a detractor of women on ANNcast's sexism episode?Zac though...man. I don't even know what to say. The podcast ended in a pretty awkward manner. Zac ripped Do You Remember Love to shreds right at the beginning of the podcast calling it: outdated, cheesy, stupid and incredibly incredibly sexist (which no one called him on at the time). He's completely innocent of course, and a really stellar and knowledgeable guy.
Daryl's sense of humor parses very poorly; film at 11.Is it worth mentioning that Daryl's name was brought up and dragged through the mud as a staunch supporter of sexism in anime and a detractor of women on ANNcast's sexism episode?
Ghost stories featuring Urd.
But then who is Nicolas Cage?
According to the video description, it's some aspiring filmmakers' demo to market themselves to movie execs. Not even a peep about the blatant Eva imagery. Now this is something I can get behind.
Hollywood adaptation of NGE, obviously.

(DYRL is a pretty bad movie, though.)
Oh, wow, I never bothered listening to that episode because the idea of an ANN cast discussing sexism sounded like a guaranteed trainwreck. Not one of those cool, exciting trainwrecks either.
Anime fans are all sexist after all!Is it worth mentioning that Daryl's name was brought up and dragged through the mud as a staunch supporter of sexism in anime and a detractor of women on ANNcast's sexism episode?

You guys do a really good job of making me never want to listen to the ANNcasts.
This part was hilarious, you could totally tell that he'd been stewing about that for the entire time that they were recording the podcast (several hours).
Drool fetish is normal.
The more common term for it would be .kissing.
Seriously. Every time I see someone say something about the drool in this series being gross, I cant help but imagine how theyd handle a relationship with an actual person.
The Time Stranger? Do you mean GoShogun: The Time Etranger? If you do I would recommend it. It's a great mix of thriller/action, and it does a great job a telling the story from different perspectives. As a bonus, Remy is a bad-ass heroine.
Even the Utena fans?Anime fans are all sexist after all!
Especially the Utena fans!Even the Utena fans?
Does not compute.Especially the Utena fans!
I could swear I read posts like this here and not on gamefaqs.
No, it's Zac and Justin. I haven't listened to the episodes, and I know exactly what Jex is talking about. It was a good podcast, honestly, and their only one worth listening to in a long-ass time. Are you getting offended on behalf of DYRL, really?
It's like the ending to Fez!Does not compute.

Okay, which one of you wants to educate these fine folks by posting the banana gif?
Does not compute.
The fans man, the fans! It's not hard to understand. Everyone know that Ikuhara is a huge sexist.
What is that? A PC game? It's like the ending to Fez!

I have mentioned that these two episodes were actually pretty informative, but Zac is a terrible human being and the way he discusses anime and 'makes arguments' hurts my soul, even when I agree with him. I rarely get this annoyed by a podcast (mainly because I turn them off and never listen to them again after a few minutes) but I had to push myself through this one for the good segments.
Zetman 3
I'm glad they coveredall in 1 episode. Was definitely painful to read and made it very hard to sympathize with grandpa Amagi before the reveal.Akemi's "death" and reveal she wasn't dead
This is still going way too fast. I'd probably confused as hell if I had no knowledge of the manga, particularly regardingKanzaki's head.
tbh the funniest Daryl & Zac related moment for me went something like:
Zac: Angel's Egg is completely impenetrable and I have no idea what it were about
Daryl: well I've always taken it to be religiously themed and about loss of faith
Zac: yeah OBVIOUSLY those themes are stewing around in there
I was still rather confused on Akemi, I dont think they did well making it clear or reiterating that that is the real her, unless I missed it, its hard to trust the old man
As an Executive Editor he also gets to pick and chose writers. What a terrifying thought.Judging by the few reviews of his I've read, Zac seems an especially poor writer and thinker even by ANN standards.
It's better than that derivative Japanese trash anyway. What is that? A PC game?
So it's all a ploy!It trickles down. His sexist agenda is subconsciously implanted into people minds through rose petal laced scenes.
There are no original ideas anymore anyway. It's better than that derivative Japanese trash anyway.
Time to pack it in and go back to cave paintings! There are no original ideas anymore anyway.

The upscaler sucks. How are the BD releases for those?
Alsopostcardstone tablet bonuses!
I really thought you were referring to Toki no Tabibito (a movie I saw decades ago and had completely forgotten about until your post).Yes, that's exactly what I mean.

Dutch sure is the celeb around these parts.
