This was one of my favorite episodes of the first HnG season. XD Such great parodies throughout the entirety of it. ^^;

One detail about the OP I'm a little worried about is how the OP ends. That single TV noise fade transition could have.... interesting implications for the series.

OOH NYAA OOH NYAA. I MUST FIND A WAY TO GET THIS.
That isn't a bad CG vehicle. Rather it is a very GOOD CG vehicle detailwise. In fact, its better than some hand drawn stuff.
Its a pretty strong season I always find plenty to enjoy, but this season is very very easy to find entertainment consistently.
Once you're in thefriendzone, it's up to you to get out of it!

I was kind of ready to just dump this show completely during the first half. The alien's mannerisms are obnoxious and there's really this kind of disturbing vibe to it under the cheery visual styling. The main character is essentially being held hostage and forced into servitude while this mind controlling alien invades his life. There's this scene that's supposed to be cute or something where the protagonist's life is being threatened on top of a building if he doesn't do something, and it's supposed to be funny or something but it just kind of winds up being really messed up to me. I would have felt worse for the main character but he isn't very likeable, and he's already fallen into fairly predictable patterns.
But the last third of the episode kind of changed course all of the sudden, and everyone stopped being brats for a little while and the show as a whole stopped being sort of vile and unenjoyable. Guy in the turban with the duck is probably going to make or break me giving up on this series with the next episode.

Watching both this and Space Brothers, I'm impressed at how much thought Ayumu Watanabe puts into his transitions. There was a particularly stellar one in this episode I'd like to highlight.
So our protagonist is in class, daydreaming about scissors in underwear as teenage boys are wont to do.
As he bemoans his situation with Urabe, we cut to the outside of his school.
The school and sunlight fade away, and we are left with the pure cloud background.
This background starts to shimmer, like ripples in water.
Urabe's hand comes into view, as she offers Tsubaki a piece of candy.
Finally, we pull back to reveal that the clouds have become their own reflection underneath a bridge on which our couple are currently hanging out at after school.
This whole transition is subtle, seamless, and strongly connects Tsubaki's solitary thoughts with the present state of his relationship with Urabe. Bravo.

She's hardly even in episode three.
MGX is pretty masterful with how it handles stuff like this. I'm really glad that it isn't just a one time thing from the first episode and I hope they can keep it up.
Don't do it Cajun! It will only result in an infinite, Groundhog's Day style time-loop where you end up desperately trying to save drago from making the Contract in the first place!

i don't have the words ..i just went full on the floor seeing how they used this plot device so well ..
Here and there but not really that much or to any effect that it showed up in the first season.

Makes sense to do, though, since those sites are more well known than the dedicated doujin Android app markets.
