Did I post this all ready? Can't remember so I'll post it again. I'm content with the ending, it closed enough story threads without opening a whole new can of worms. Definitely better than the open ending for the first InuYasha series. "Yes, we will defeat Naraku!" *Inuyasha & Co run off in to the sunset* -END-
Ahahaha, terrible memories of the Inuyasha finale when I watched it years ago.
"Okay, 22 minutes to Naraku being defeated. Don't know how it's going to happen, but it's got to be something spectacular."
"So they've all been swallowed by a giant youkai and have to escape. It's okay, Inuyasha and Kagome are reaffirming their love for each other. That's very finale-like. And we still have 15 minutes left. Man, Naraku dying is going to come hard and fast."
"They escaped from the youkai! But.......didn't that take just about the whole episode? And I'm not seeing Naraku. Something feels off..."
"Well
yeah you're going to defeat Naraku. Now go and-WHATTHEFUCKIT'SOVER?'"
I had actually been marathoning Inuyasha Kanketsuhen for the past week or so and the Bleach finale happened to air the day that I reached the finale there. It was a bizarre feeling to see two of my favorite shounens from my teenage years end in the same night. I'll comment more on the Bleach finale when I have some more thoughts together, but even if there was never going to be another episode (and I do believe it'll be back for the final arc at some point) I found it to be an immensely satisfying finish to the series. Tears were shed, and not ironic AnoHana tears.
