Faiaa Emuburemu: Kakusei 1-26
I've spent the last two months watching this anime, it was very entertaining. The character designs are very pleasant to look at, and it's a fun, not-too-serious western fantasy story. The cast of characters is huge, and they're all very trope-y, but it works because the interaction between them is so much fun. What really helps is the top-notch localization, with cleverly written jokes and great voice acting. The main character was unusually good for this kind of story, I could identify with him more strongly than is typical in anime, especially during the romantic moments.
This leads to another thing which makes this different from most anime; most series are afraid to commit to romance of any kind, but all sorts of pairing up and even plot-relevant reproduction occurs in this anime. It was so prevalent that it almost felt weird at times, and it was creepy when the child-like "1000-year-old" dragon had a baby with the Russian sellsword. But for the most part it was highly entertaining and amusing to see all of the characters fumbling through awkward romances; apparently rhubarb pie will make you regular.
Depending on how much you care about the story, you may wish to avoid the OVA episodes set between episode 25 and 26; they make the story really silly and nonsensical. There are also a bunch of random web ONAs that don't make any sense which involve the characters fighting against alternate versions of themselves. The weirdest one involved the main character fighting against like five different flamboyant versions of himself, half of them girls.
The soundtrack is also fantastic, some beautiful orchestral and choral arrangements that are striking and, at times, surprising.
Overall, it's the best fantasy anime I've seen in some time.
