Got 99 problems and only one of them is a waifu
It's gonna be just as bad as Princess Lover. Should just make an h version from the beginning.

Reservations and concerns about Aniplex of America's pricing strategies aside, it would at least be nice if we could wait until after they reveal home release details (several months from now) to begin bitching about it.

I guess more Belldandy is never a bad thing.
I have two comments about this.

Firstly, I think we've all seen enough of Belldandy, unless it's the Belldandy that's secretly controlling Keiichi's mind.

Secondly, for a one off, the animation in that trailer looks atriocious. Actually, I think I need to back up a little: that whole trailer is very poorly made lacking in rhythm, logic and mood. It's just a set of not very interesting scenes of characters sitting around, which I wouldn't classify as particularly engaging. To return to my comment about animation - it's just a bunch of flapping mouths, the cheapest form of animation! I can't believe that's what you'd focus on in your trailer.

I don't understand the dislike for Aniplex of America's business model. They stream their shows for free online and then if you're a hardcore collector you buy the physical discs. People need to get out of the mentality of thinking the only proper way to release the show is very cheap discs. Streams for watching, discs for collecting - this is a very sensible business model if you ask me.

Attack of Titan Ep. 1

''Quick, make everyone wide eyed so we can showcase their fear. See they are scared, Right? They are very scared. Look, at those eyes...''

I am going to lambasted for this; But I feel the series is trying too hard. The atmosphere is quite flat and others have showcased fear and tribulations way more effectively than this series without being too obvious about it. One would see the Irony when I say; for example Higurashi displayed a much more subdued and grim atmosphere than this series (Even with those ridiculous wide eyes which I have to say look much more believable.

Yeah, my impression of the first episode seems to be cold at best. Hope the next few episode fair better.

Well they could have given Blast of Tempest better disc treatment, a mini poster and 13 episodes on a dvd and thats it...

I honestly don't know what's worse, trying to chase the premium model of the late 90s/early 00s, or the Sentai/Funimation model of releasing everything under the sun.

Weirdly, NISA seems to be the only company that exists right in the middle by being selective and setting a higher MSRP.

Hooray more beating around the bush

Actually it looks like this isn't about Belldandy x Keiichi's un-romance. Which is good because like absolutely nothing has happened in their relationship in the manga until like this year. I'm so glad it's finally FINALLY going somewhere.

The English dub is superior

If you think about it, every company has some faults with it.

Sentai? Barebones releases.

Funi? Too long wait for BluRay releases due to Reverse Importation fears

NISA? No dubs.

Aniplex? Expensive.

MediaBlasters? Will it actually come out.

Viz? They still license stuff?lol

MANAGA in Europe seems to be bang job in their releases in the last 2 years or so. Although, there are a lot of Anime that haven't been licenesed by them.

Where is my Fucking release of TORADORA!!!

reading Ah! My Goddess for the romance.... it's like wanting Yotsuba to grow-up.

The most of the story arcs don't even have a romantic subplot. It's more or less one of the slice of life series.

I did, that's what they were giving me shit for.
As in they protested the inclusion of the tag? I need to see the receipts.

See, it then becomes a case of pick your poison, except, given the nature of licensing you don't really get to choose. Other than between buying something and dealing with whatever shitty thing each company's shtick is or not buying at all.

Sentai releases have had the most extras of any company though, outside of the super premium Aniplex releases. Dusk Maiden has two OSTs and commentaries!

I actually don't have a problem with any of the companies, really. I just find that, for whatever reason, Funimation isn't licensing the stuff that I would actually want to own nowadays.

Though when romance finally appears, it gets pretty good. Even for that fleeting second.

Sentai is pretty random with what extras they toss in. Sometimes they get a lot of stuff (relative), and other times you get creditless OP/ED!!!!!!111

Yeah, Funi is being pretty conservative with their licensing. Or they are just getting last pick in stuff these days with Sentai and Aniplex literally grabbing everything before it even airs.

Either way I really still don't know what's going on, because knowing that a school was opened for the survivors is just a huge bottle of questions

Spoilering responses since most of this information comes from Novel 7, which hasn't been covered in the anime yet. Nothing particularly spoilerish within, but still.

how could the already bankrupt Argus finance that? If not them, who?

I believe it's a government effort, with the official purpose of reintegrating the SAO survivors into the education system, but also most likely intended to monitor their mental state, since they've spent two years living in what essentially amounts to a lawless state, and could present a danger to society. Regular counselling is a mandatory part of the school's curriculum.

Where is this school and approximately how many of the 6k survivors are of the appropriate age to attend and within the correct distance to travel there?

In Nishitokyo, a city in the prefecture of Tokyo. Since a large proportion of Japan's population live in or around Tokyo, and many more travel there for work or study, it's fair to assume that there would be a lot of survivors able to attend. The school is open to all former SAO players up to the age of 18. Theoretically the youngest players should be at least 16 by now, since the NerveGear usage guidelines forbid the use by anyone aged 13 or under, though some of the kids Kirito and Asuna met at the Floor 1 "orphanage" looked as young as twelve, so there may be some who didn't follow the guidelines. Considering the demographic of the game, it's fair to assume that a decent proportion of players are still of school age.

Since the school requires no entry exams or entry fees, and is able to provide qualifications that would be very difficult for these "dropouts" to obtain otherwise, it's a very attractive option for SAO survivors who are still of school age, and so, despite the fact that it certainly has its negatives, it's likely that the vast majority of survivors who are able to attend chose to do so.

How was this school built and staffed within the period of two months between the end of SAO and the present day? Where do you find teachers who are equipped to handle children 2 years behind the curve who also have undergone a trauma that they are legally bound from discussing with the public but which should also have serious effects on them mentally and emotionally?

The campus itself wasn't "built" expressly for this purpose; it was an existing school building that had been left unused due to restructuring, and was repurposed for this specialised situation. The staffing, on the other hand, was quite rushed, and it's made clear that the teachers are basically doing their best in an unfamiliar situation. There are certainly parents who look down on the school for having an underqualified staff and substandard curriculum.

I think it's pretty clear that Aniplex understand this particular field of business very well, which is why they're quite successful. They seem like one of the few companies who actually understand the realities of the market that they work sell to.

I guess it's gonna be a heartwarming story of love from one of keichi kouhai in love finally helped by belldandy ( but in the end love & music will do the trick ).

There is like no reason why it wouldn't turn that way.

I'd still waatch it because ah my godess is kinda the reason why i'm watching anime

Sell special editions to nerds, give up on everyone else and assume they're pirates. I assume this is the model that works in Japan as well. It certainly works for HBO. lol
