So, is there any redeeming factor in watching To LOVE-Ru?

(Only clean picks I could find.)

or should I just finish the last 3 seasons of The Familiar of Zero first?

Ace of Diamond s2 Episode 9
CGdJIEjVAAE9cHU.jpg

Really hilarious episode. I think everyones antics are pretty amazing, Eijun's excitement, Mei's lines, Kanemaru's comments, Haruchis silly moment, and then that Furuya throwing the ball at the ceiling.

Hoping to see tons of Mei.

Those 2 shows you are mentioning are pretty terrible.

Corn watch something good like Kyousougiga, such a enjoyable anime.

Madoka Rebellion

Re-watched Madoka Rebellion since it is now on Netflix and welp I still feel the same way since the first time I saw it.

Homura is the fucking worst.

Wow, Madoka Movie 1 is the show, to the letter.

Seems a little shameless, but oh well. Glad I won't miss much. I'll just skim to the key moments to see how they changed.

I will say from where I am right now is give yourself a lot of time watching Gasaraki. The slow pacing, politics talk, and history stuff might turn off quite a bit of people. If you don't mind the very slow pacing quite a bit, then the show start to be interesting to watch. Also, the mecha battle is great to watching. Nothing crazy like you see in most Mecha anime. More into realistic tone which you don't see too often now. This was in my collection DVD to watch for a while and interested to watch it now than latter on.

For Ghost Stories, I am consider buying it so I can watch it. Don't know if it's worth $33 dollars for the entire DVD collection.

Yeah that sounds super appealing to me. Flag was very similar and directed by the same man, Ryosuke Takahashi. It's also very slow and not much happens, its a show that shot entirely from the perspective of the main characters camera viewfinder as she documents a peacekeeping operation and it makes for some really interesting shots and intimate moments. Very slow, not much happens, but I found it refreshing. Its really strange because it was only 12 episodes, but I remember it very fondly and really became immersed in the story. I like slow, talky stuff a lot, but also love slow, silent stuff, which is why I love Oshii :p

I have that sitting in my Crunchy queue, but after White Album 2 and Little Busters refrain, I'm going to want something mindless and fun to watch. It says:

Genres: Comedy, Ecchi, Harem, Romance, School, Sci-Fi

On my MAL, so that should be mindless fun, right?

Might as well skip to To Love Ru Darkness because at least you're getting high quality lewd compared to the first season.

It's Hero Time. That mask looks creepy. Why would anyone root for that thing? The squid sounds more sympathetic, so the kids made the right choice. I do wonder why Chizuru apparently had a spare mask lying around. Must have been part of her ninja training. So now squids are good at mask. Eiko swallows her pride to advance in life. Too bad squids learn in different ways. Nagisa gets a crush, but her top priority still is to protect humanity from this grave threat. The love chart keeps on growing.

I mean if you can endure really ecchi trash I guess so, but to be honest if you want a really good mindless fun show you're better off watching D-Frag or Barakamon. Though the later is a bit heartwarming and provides some good life lessons.

How is it shameless to adapt a TV show into a film?

By using the exact same footage? They should've just gone to movie 3.

The changes they made are awful. I don't like the new perspective on That moment, for instance(Episode 3's).

I could have sworn her death was more brutal in the show.

I'll be honest I couldn't get past the first couple of episodes in To Love Ru. Some stuff me cringe, and everything seemed so mundane. Idk Familiar of Zero isn't great by any mean, but it's time better spent than with TLR.

Should I just take TLR of my MAL? Maybe I should just experience Elfin Lied instead..

Great, I was scrolling through my MAL at work looking for something to watch tomorrow, lol. The first season of The Familiar of Zero was pretty fun and it has a great VA, too bad she is a tsundere biotch so far, well, most of the time.

It's trash, watch neither. Ignore the fact I read all of TLR last month

Ssssstoppppp

Gintama 124

Meh, I don't really like the Otsu-chan episodes.

Gintama 125

Recap episodezzzz. At least they managed to sneak in some good jokes like how it's hard to remember episodes by name, then when they flashback to an episode they just made a name up.

It's not an uncommon practice to condense a TV series into a more digestible movie format. It would be shameless if they were selling it as something new, but I don't think that's the case.

TLR is only worth watching for the fanservice and literally nothing else. The fanservice isn't even good till the third season because that's when it author of the manga became inspired.

To Love Ru is just a regular harem comedy series until Darkness when the author/artist said FUCK IT and now just tries to see how much he can get away with/hide which is pretty entertaining

Like animated titties? Then watch it. Don't? Then there's not point to watching it.

TLR Darkness is pretty much softcore porn with no actual sex. Which is fine if you're into that.

What exactly are you looking for at the moment?

I just have so many recs on my MAL and Crunchy queue, and I'm just looking for some mindless fun, this is the genre description for TLR, so it works:

Genre; Comedy, Ecchi, Harem, Romance, School, Sci-Fi

It doesn't have to be inspiring or thoughtful at all, just mindless fun.

Go watch Diebuster. It's only 6 episodes and Hideaki Anno is involved so you can never go wrong.

Anno helped with Diebuster on episodes 4 and 6, but Diebuster is very much a Kazuya Tsurumaki and Yoji Enokido joint. Tsurumaki and Enokido also collaborated on FLCL, and Diebuster is definitely closer to that stylistically than anything Anno is known for.

And yet the Darkness tv series is filled with character drama and silly angst and takes itself more seriously than Motto TLR.

Ben-to is on Funimation and it's not garbage like TLR.

Index/Railgun or Accel World.

Well I'll probably watch like two episodes of Darkness s2 before dropping it

Pfft, you can watch a long series and shorter ones at the same time. After I gave up on catching up on Gintama before Spring its been smooth. And with the rate cornbread watches shows it wouldn't be hard to plow through them

Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's Episode 25
CGdTWfZWgAA8_hn.jpg

Hopefully I can finish all 154 episodes before the end of this year. Im still working through Gundam Seed Destiny HD too, but its going the same pace where its taking me a year to finish these anime :/

In any case, only thing I dislike with the plot is the friends. The Yusei and Jack being friends thing is really good, but all of Yusei's others, its like why should we care about them. Yusei's new friends Leo and Lua feel much closer to him even.

Good duel, please let it be a full Jack v Yusei duel, please.

Haly

One day I realized that sadness is just another word for not enough coffee.
Oh yeah, Cornbread would enjoy both Ben-to and Hataraku Maou-sama.

A better idea would be to not watch both of those and watch Gundam Build Fighters instead. It's available for free on Gundaminfo's Youtube channel!

This is a good idea. It's a great way to get into the Gundam series even if you haven't watched Gundam before. You'll miss out on some of the references but you'll still have one of the best mecha anime to have come out recently.
