Still not watching Heybot until MetroidPrimeRib watches Majin Bone.

One obscure kids anime that nobody watches for another obscure kids anime that nobody watches.

Wait wut? Then how did Akko
lose her magic?
Didn't she come from a muggle family?
I'm pretty sure before this Croix says something in the lines of "Most of the audience would not use magic in their lives anyway (since they're muggles) so it's fine taking their Dream energy." Thus there's only any real harm if any child is from a magical lineage and ends up losing her magic (like Diana), but Chariot is unpopular in the witches circle anyway so no worries about that.

Closer pics of the Patlabor EZY poster
The old description of Patlabor with the poster for Movie 1... Dare I hope for something that has to do with the old cast? But then there's that Twin Peaks situation with the VA cast now probably old or dead already...

I have a somewhat mixed impression of the episode as a whole, which is partly why I didn't want to write it up (that and I still need to do my 08 MS Team writeup too). The episode largely serves as an infodump for Shiny Chariot's background and instead of giving her backstory justice in a fleshed out manner ala Fate/Zero or Madoka, it rushes through the emotional beats so it mostly comes across as superficial. There was enough material in the first six or seven minutes for a pretty great two parter. The writers could have focused more on the increasing pressure on Shiny Chariot and her own desperation to stay relevant. They could have also used that extra runtime to flesh out Croix and Shiny Chariot's relationship. For something that is pretty much the driving force of the entire show, it's not treated with that same prominence from the scriptwriting side[...]

Alright Jex, I'm starting my writeup. We're probably gonna diverge a bit. lol
Not particularly, in fact, I think we're basically on the same page.

The most interesting part about last week's twist
was that it was an explicit betrayal on a number of levels. Not just on the teacher/student level, but also the entertainer/fan and role model/inspired person level. It even subverted the expectations of a light-hearted story. This served as a real emotional gut punch that brought the last episode to a shocking conclusion.

Yet this episode basically reverses all of that, it pulls that punch all the way back in a completely unsatisfying manner.
Chariot literally didn't know what she was doing. She was duped, and it really wasn't her fault. This is such a boring way to tell this story because it basically means that Chariot was always good. She doesn't even really need to feel bad because she was not responsible. It would have been far more interesting to see her struggle with her career more, and eventually succumb to the temptation of using the 'Dark Magic' again. If she knowingly did something wrong that would at least give her the ability to have a proper 'redemption' arc later on. But instead she's just a wholly good person. Boo.

I had no real problem with the Diana and Akko stuff in the second half of the episode - it was basically good character work that I would have appreciated more of across the season.

Once again, the series lurches between good and bad. It can't seem to maintain any kind of consistency or momentum.

Sentai having another sale on their website. Doesn't look like some of the regular edition blus are priced all that great but the prices on the CE's are good with some of the more recent releases on sale.

Amagi Brilliant Park $57.99
Is it Wrong to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon $52.99
No Game No Life $51.99
My Love Story $63.99
Monthly Girls Nozaki-Kun $41.99

Shipping is free over $50 and they use rightstuf as their distributor.

Heybot is just a meme show, but it is a worse meme show than Kemono Friends was because Kemono Friends was actually good and popular.

Plus it doesn't have Alpaca, Crested Ibis or Raccoon.

Raccoon is not bird friend.
True but Raccoon is an idiot and I have a soft spot for idiots like her. Alpaca is Crested Ibis' friend and thus a good Friend by extension. Plus I like her design.

That one magical school anime airing 11 END

THE END Yup totally the end, show ended on this episode as far as I'm concerned. Nope no other episodes exist after this one.

Amazon's recent sale that had everything at like $20-30 spoiled me.

Am I really the only one who immediately assumed that
it was unintentional? It seemed way too evil to be at all consistent with everything else we've ever known about Chariot.

And remember what Diana told her. Chariot doesn't need redemption for what she's done in the distant past, she needs redemption for what she's doing right now.

Do I need to have watched all the past episodes of Hell Girl to watch season 4? It seems like a show I'd be interested in but I don't have time to binge 3 seasons.

Some random reddit guy's comment concerning Violet Evergarden:

some guy on reddit said:
I'm just gonna do a quick runthrough of what Violet Evergarden is so far.

There are 2 Light Novels released, with the first novel only having the last chapter untranslated. So what do we know from the chapters we have?

The rough format of the show.
Well it's episodic. Each chapter is its own self contained story. There is very little connecting each chapter. Rather there is only one thing connecting each chapter and that is Violet Evergarden.

What we won't get:
Now you could be thinking "oh cool we get to watch her grow and such throughout these short stories that develop her?". And eeeh... not really. None of the chapters so far is from Violet Evergardens POV. Every chapter introduces a new character and it is from their POV mostly. Now there are a few hints of character development here and there for Violet Evergarden, and I'm expecting the last chapter to be more of it as so far we barely know our title character, but mostly it is about the POV characters for each chapter that the stories are about.

What are the stories about?
Well they are varied, but none of them are unique. You've seen them before. It's clichéd mostly, and melodramatic for some of them. It's good, but it's not great.

I may have sorta underselled it but I just don't want this to get overhyped before it has even aired (it already sorta has) because it's not that great

I'll keep my expectations in check because that doesn't sound appealing to me at all.

Well then, they had a cunning plan that actually turned out to be a cunning plan, I am sort of surprised at this.

Koyomimonogatari 01

Seems like a side story before the events of the first arc of Bake and it was neat.

It's been a while since I've gone back to Monogatari. It sure felt good.

Just finish watching Gunbuster and I can see why this OVA is a classic. Will post an impression of this show later this week as I am going to watch the sequel soon. Will say the last episode of this OVA (watching as an OVA not movie version), the entire black and white animation, is that on purpose from the creator or lack of budget? It feel odd of the sudden from seeing color up to 5 episodes and then black and white. Either way, it didn't hinder the story and I am was okay for it. Also, a very great soundtrack. So many good music to discuss but I think the best one is the music play for the big battle at episode 4 climax. Might be the one I will remember the most from this show (Toki no Kawa wo Koete) . Either way, love the OVA and now understand why people love Noriko as one of the best female anime characters.

Sakura Quest Episode 11:

Ah, so it was Rini's urn to get the character development and it was nice that everything was interwoven into the episode this time around.
