So ready for summer. Good Starmyu.
Not sure if I saw references to it on ANN or here but I watched the first episode of Princess Lover and my overwhelming thought is "Why has so much effort gone into this?". I mean it's standard harem ecchi fare but the background art is good, the animation is dynamic and frequent, the writing is actually good in places and the music is well chosen to boot.
I mean the opening scenes having breakfast with the protagonists parents before they die is genuinely well done, a simple 4 minute scene where they share breakfast and their obvious affections for one another made their deaths feel more real than 99% of dead parents in anime. Of course it is an ecchi harem so I'm sure it will get stupid at some point but there seems to be more effort put in here than seems reasonable for the genre
I don't think people watched the series and insteadwatched the NSFW OVA with one of the girls, hahaha
Psh, you liked it because Sylvia van Hossen looks exactly like Saber!

Bastard Magical Instructor ep.2
Well, outside of the rapey $hit, that was a pretty damn good episode. You knew something was up with him, but I like the dude now, as long as he keeps it clean...
Akashic etc 02
Ah well the restraint was never going to last, I dropped off the manga from about here and think I'll do the same again. Occasional hints of interesting background systems etc drowned out by those uniforms, tired mega MC nonsense and a nasty taste for sexualised violence combined with awful jokes ("sorry for interrupting" really?).
I
I'm gonna spoil this for people because it would only cause people's interests to rise or at worse not lessen in this anime and it's not really relevant to anything; but as far as I've read, even when more girls start showing up and because it's a harem they're obviously all about his dick, he is completely uninterested/sees them as students/does not fingerbang any of them. He keeps it strictly platonic.
Probably cause he's slamjamming his master. Why else would she keep him around?
.
Oh and thanks for the Princes Lover reminder, I had to move that to my Watch list when I'm done Midori Days.
This post is significantly more amusing after the direction the Princess Lover conversation took
LOL, I was referring to the first page post.
There is no way that OVA could be worse than the "sensei" OVA from The Testament of Sister New Devil; now that one was "special"
It is by virtue of the fact it is actual hentai. Not "so lewd it might as well be hentai." like many ecchi show OVAs are.
I mean, there's nothing like...gross or disgusting about it.
She just gets fucked really hard.
Like really hard.
Cinderella Girls Theater 02
Mika and Kaide were in it, so good
We all know that's not the full reason you enjoyed the episode.

idgi. I didn't see Zaizen anywhere
Watched Silent Voice on cinema too.
Fine movie overall. No complaints there. Fine adaptation that captured the manga's message quite well. Though I'd like to see the relations between the two mothers develop as well, like in the manga. I am closer to their age...
But the biggest gripe was with the animation.
I felt I was watching something produced for TV instead of cinema. Hardly felt cinematic. Not only that but even for TV standards it wasnt Kyoto Animation's best work. TV series like Hyouka had much better quality. Some scenes were so static there wasnt even character movement.
Ghibili's Ocean Waves was made for TV, yet it was more cinematic than this. Had I seen a Silent Voice on Blueray, I'd have liked it much better. I felt it didnt use the cinema medium to a full extent.
Yeah, for a first episode, this is surely hitting a LOT of good notes. The art is beautiful,(not that screenshot though) the OST and OP/ED are great and the world is very interesting. I mean, the maid is an ogre that eats people shaped crackers, but looks like your typical moe maid.... No really though, this was really good. Probably my favorite opening this season. Glad I can take a deep breath of relief that this didn't suck.
You're the only one I've seen who's made the complaint that A Silent Voice has notably poor production values. While I have unfortunately not had the chance to watch the film yet, given the excerpts I have been able to see in trailers I have to question your judgement here. Of course, Hyouka was itself at a cinematic level of presentation, but it doesn't appear that A Silent Voice is a notable regression from that, let alone KyoAni's other recent TV shows and movies.
Yeah the scene wasn't too bad at restraining itself in terms of fan service until after he comes in the door and makes a joke about the obvious sexual assault, then there's several shots of her bra when they could have just left that black camisol in place. I mean it's no Tsugimomo "Haha the child is upset and crying at having been touched up while in the shower" levels of messed up, if I see folks on here saying that it can drop this habit I'm open to going back unlike Tsugimomo. At least as OniBarubary points out the MC never seems to reciprocate any romantic interest in his students, he's all about the Prof.Yeah, there are always a minute or two of a show, which really put a damper on it, but the reaction/result after that moment was pretty well done.

Oh wow... What a treat this was.... Some of you will hate the production of this, others, that like dramatic love stories/romcoms, WATCH THIS NOW! Something really resonated here and it blew me away. Outstanding. Tuesdays are my favorite days of the season without a doubt. This was great, I mean, just great...

That face seems to have caught my eye. What's the premise?
Nino, a girl who likes to sing, experienced two farewells in the past. First, with her first love, Momo, and second, with Yuzu, a boy who composes music. But upon those two farewells, she made a promise with each of them: to continue singing until they find her voice again. Time has passed, and now these three are in high school...?!
It's a shoujo manga adaptation, so it's destined to follow some drama all based around the girl (love triangle incoming) but it has an odd and inviting tone to it.
Hmm... I rarely watch drama, but might as well add it to my list... what could possibly go wrong?
What's the best "trapped in the video game" anime? I've never seen one before but it sounds like a fun premise.
Log Horizon by far. Especially the first season is just excellent. Overlord as well is pretty great and is getting a promising as hell second season.
SAO is also a must watch. For the exact opposite reason, though.
You have to include Konosuba in that list as well.
One of the arguments is that if Konosuba is considered a "trapped in a video game" story or not. It's more of an isekai/reincarnation story than a "trapped in a video game" story.
Not sure if No Game No Life counts either.
KonoSuba and NGNL are just lazy about it being trapped in an MMO in that its just a fantasy world that has MMO elements in it but its not actually a game
How is NGNL lazy about it, there aren't stats or MMO elements or any game elements at all, they're literally trapped in a world where a God has decided that everything is ruled by games; as in shit like chess and tag and shiratori.
NGNL isn't even remotely a "trapped in a game" anime. There's literally nothing video gamey about it.

That is not the same as: I woke up in the MMO I was playing though. You guys are talking about the show where two godlike gamers use their godlike gaming ability to win games in a fantasy world based on games where the last arc of the anime literally takes place in a video game
