Square Enix teasing their E3 booth

This company is a joke these days

Final Fantasy XIII: Lightning Returns... Yawn
Versus XIII - lost interest 3 years ago
FF14 version 2 - No thanks
Final Fantasy X HD - thought this was supposed to be released last year?
Mobile games lol

Hopefully they prove me wrong and show something amazing. Dissidia III for PS4/Xbox720 - that's something i could get excited for.

I like how the Dragoon has a hairstyle similar to Kain.
I also remember reading there'd be more party members than Noctis' gang? It'd be great if she was one of them.

Well, the game is pretty much a sausage fest at the moment so it definetely needs some girls there. Im assuming Stella will eventually be part of the party though, so thats one. It still needs more imo.

No, I want it for the fan reaction. I mean, Lightning was in Type-0 but they got away with it by cleverly disguising her. Can they do it again?

Proof that Seven was supposed to be Lightning? iwannaseethereceipts.gif

He's probably just gonna beat her up and take her weapon.

Then again who knows. She most likely is just one of the many job class based enemies that are supposed to be in Versus.

I can't wait to see black mages.

After my own heart.

I don't understand, if this is the case, why this would be a bad thing? If it doesn't feel natural to the story why try to force in a female character into the plot that won't belong otherwise?

Hamlet was mostly dudes fighting each other. The story is based on Hamlet. Women served important purposes in the story but let's not force a certain sex into a role simply just cause. It'll feel forced like XIII.

I just love how every thread about Square Enix devolves into: "Where the hell is Versus?" and "holy crap Versus has the potential for being godlike"

I'm not complaining, I personally love the concept of Versus, I just hope Square actually knows that they have a killer product on their hands, and needs to just focus on that.

Hopefully E3...which I think we've all been saying again and again.

For the sake of variety I guess. All the dudes look pretty much the same if you take out the hair style and the weapon they use. That doesnt seem to be a incentive to play as other characters at all.

The "sausage fest" had me chuckle for all the wrong reasons! =O

Well, I think male/female ratio has been pretty decent, especially in this series so far, I guess they will make it right.

My dream scenario right there, but no way is it gonna happen :(

Man, I honestly can't wait for the info drips to hit. There's seriously so much of this game that's unknown, including the party members. I'd also love a non-human character in the team, like Kimahri or Quina, but seeing as it's taking a more realist approach, I'm just crossing my fingers for one in the hopefully Ito directed FFXV...

FOOL! You can't COMPREHEND the AWESOMENESS the GREAT GILGAMESH is capable of when it comes to game development. HAH! You could say it would be the RPG of LEGEND!

Ultros is better than Gilgacrap.

That's what happens when you have an entire generation of mediocre home console titles I suppose.

Sake of variety is what killed the story in XIII. It's a very poor reason. If it makes sense for the plot go for it. If not then why bother muddling the story to shoehorn a female character in the mix "for variety".

To your second point that is so wrong I don't know where to start. They all have vastly different personalities. They all use different tactics and weapons. That is more than enough incentive to play different characters. You can switch characters on the fly too. Plus that would be the same thing as putting a female in there too. All it would be is a cosmetic change. It wouldn't add or remove any variety already there.

Your argument for your reasoning to shoehorn a character in is almost as bad as Toriyama's decision to shoehorn Hope into the plot of XIII.

Edit: Please note, I am not against a female being apart of the party or team. I am against them just being shoehorned in for "variety" instead of a critical story purpose. This is the trap a lot of games fall into when trying to "diversify" their cast.

All they are teasing is that they will have a booth at E3 nothing more lol. I am positive they will have big announcements though because Square ALWAYS puts their best foot forward during a new console generation unveiling.

You are wrong, but ok (so if there were only dudes in XIII it would be a better game?). I still believe what I said is the right reasoning in this case.

Party pooper.

Watching the Versus gameplay trailer again I really hope the vehicle/mech/turret stuff is kept to a bare minimum or gone altogether.

And I hope you can give Noctis proper pants.

#Team Biggs and Wedge here, when it comes to recurring characters! ^^ Or maybe rather, Cid?

I never find the Gilgamesh in the games, please halp!

Fake Edit: Oh, I just figured out who the FF IX Gilgamesh really is, I'm shocked!

Well, it's not like the same can't be said for every girl in any JRPG ever, but I do agree some female presence is needed.

An ugly female party member would be great since every other one is pretty perfection and can do no wrong.

I always thought it would be cool to have an old woman for a party member in a JRPG.

And no I don't mean that "2000 years old but looks 8" bullshit an actual fucking grandma.

Started up IX again today and bitch stole 37 Gil from Vivi!

Someone like Brienne from Game of Thrones would be brilliant. Seriously.
But you know how Japan loves their Kawaii shite.

I don't see Stella joining Noctis, there goals don't seem to match.

What could happen, is Stella would be the player character in her own side of the story that you can play maybe.

Let's hope it's an option and not an "option".

I hear ya. It's terrible when developers claim things are optional when they are clearly meant to be used.

:P

I doubt it will be from the beginning though, since they are already showing them facing each other as enemies in the trailers...

I wouldn't mind Stella going against Noctics for the first half of the game, and later join the party in the second half.
