SSF4: AE transition from GFWL to Steamworks is a complete mess

At this rate I'm not expecting it to be fixed till closer to or on Ultra pc release and even then it might not be fixed.

Netcode is shit. Games hang randomly regardless of connection with opponent. 'Waiting' messages right in the middle of matches that i've never seen in any other version of the game except this one. 1 second hitches sometimes post-match and when transitioning through menus.

Game was perfect on GFWL. Ultra better be a return to form, or no buy.

All of your described issues also happen in the PS360 ULTRA version...

Been playing SSF4 on Steam lately and having some issues with it. Otherwise it is working pretty OK, but I get very weird lag spikes. Maybe once a match (no matter who I play against) I get 2-3 second spike where the game basically stops. I've been checking my connections but it doesn't seem that there is any latency spikes. Weird thing is that when this spike happens SSF4.exe CPU usage drops from 25 to 0 and then it bounces back to the normal 25.

Anybody else having similar issues? Any solutions? On the benchmark my computer runs the game 70 fps so it should be OK.

Son of a bitch, my only choices are the PS3 version or the Steam version.

Which is the lesser evil at this point?!

I remember the netcode being this bad for Vanilla. Never bought AE and bought it on a whim because of Ultra. I definitely feel like I wasted $30.

New patch today.

I bought a new triband router from net gear the other day and the matches I've had are awesome. The router I had before just sucked. My ping was 30ms. This one fluctuates between 1 and 2ms.

Your ping wasn't the problem. 30 ms should be fine for most matches. I haven't been on in a few days. I thought they weren't patching again till Omega released?
