Thanks to der feef for the thread art. Explanation for thread title here.

Edit: That post already explains it. Not gonna add fuel to the fire because even I didn't catch the meaning of the title for a while there.

Benadryl Cucumberpatch kind of killing my interest in this film. But then I remember the main cast and I'm somewhat excited again.

My expectations are low, but I will be there day 1.

I still have dim hopes that the villain isn't Khan, and that Abrams did something original with this wide, new reality he's created.

lol I read the spoilers. Don't worry I won't say anything; watching is going to be the proper experience. Nice banner OP.

Set phazers for fun!

I swear to god if one of you 'i read the spoilaz lulz' fuckers spoils this film I'm going to dedicate my forum time to spoiling every goddamn movie I see before you.

Proud to say that I'm still unspoiled despite really wanting to settle some questions I have about this.

I won't be there day one, though. Maybe day three. Four, tops.

It was better than Into Darkness will be.

And here we go. Trekkies who don't understand that their 'type of movie' will not only induce comas into 99% of people who will watch it, but will also bomb harder than John Carter (which would be a better movie by comparison).

No one ever gets tired in the Abrams Treks. They're all so energetic and running everywhere. So much running. SO MUCH RUNNING.

I'm not sure what you're trying to imply, but yes, John Carter is pretty great. Here's hoping Giacchino brings the same game to this movie that he did Carter.

I don't consider my a "Trekkie" but enjoy all things Trek (to a point), including JJ's last film. I'm sure if this movie is as good as the early reviews say it is I'll enjoy this one too.

I'm looking forward to it.

I thought that movie was mediocre at its best parts. Not hard to see why it did so horribly (outside of the horrible marketing).

I don't want to hijack this thread, so you should probably just stop and accept that you're wrong about this thing you have a bad opinion on. John Carter was the best blockbuster of 2012.

It's been getting great reviews so far. Trekkie fanboys who hated the first aren't a fair judge.

Nearly every single review on the tomato-meter is luke-warm and full of caveats. Not a single one that I can see flat out says it's a better film, lol.

Sounds like an enjoyably watchable, but dumb sequel.
