I'd be interested in playing a few rounds with the radar disabled to see how it changes the pacing of matches. Pity it isn't possible.

This is me desperately trying to give my team the confidence to move in on Turning Point. It worked for all but the last control point. Every time I went in I killed 3-4 guys and started holding it alone while my teammates just stood outside of the arena of interest trying to take pot shots through walls. Not once, but twice I used a jet pack bowcaster strike to blow up an AT-ST that came to defend the area because none of them packed ion shots. Only in the last 15 seconds did all of them actually try to move in to the control point, but that isn't enough to capture it.

I suppose I shouldn't care. Win, lose, it's just a 500 credit bonus, right? I still got good xp/credit for trying to that's all that matters? No. Fuck that. The game has different modes because it is meant to be played by the rules of those modes. If all you're going to do is TDM why even buy a team based game? It's not fun to do the right thing and then just sit there alone in the control point waiting to get wasted by the approaching enemies because your 12 teammates only 20 feet away won't actually enter. I'm taking this to Best Buy to trade in for credit on Rainbow Six or something. I even already have Titanfall so I could play an actual arena shooter and not even have to wait for my jumppack to recharge. I'll keep my save in case some miracle happens and DICE fixes the game with a total gameplay overhaul.

Edit: Seriously the more I play, the more the bad design becomes apparent. I'm feeling like I should have spent the $30 on Black Ops 3, which was a sale on the MS store at the time, or the BF4 Premium when it was on deals with gold. Playing the old Battlefront 2 at 30fps on this weak laptop is starting to seem more appealing. Spawns need to be completely overhauled. Combat on the whole should be closer range via lowering weapon accuracy to cut down on the chickenshit anti-objective sniper battle nature because nobody feels comfortable making any sort of open space approach. K/D should be abolished on objective modes and not included in overall game stats. Scoring for objectives should be 3-4x what it is to encourage actually trying to play according to mode rules instead of getting far more points from sitting back and killing meaninglessly.

but what about the children? they're only 8 years old ffs

At last & winning the game & also playing the objectives as well, who says you cannot get a high kill score by playing WA as it was intended.

A few thousand points from level 50 now.

I can't for the life of me be any good at Walker Assault or Turning Point.
I'm just getting killed all over the shop and being useless.
Blast and Heroes Vs Villains I can do ok at though.
Getting loads of XP in HvV at the moment so sticking with that tonight.

I'm pretty sure they would appreciate being able to walk somewhere without getting shot down by that pixel on the horizon. Wolfenstein 3D came out when I was 9, and I did start on that, so I don't really get the concept of FPS for kids. Although, I guess Garden Warfare is pretty sweet for that kind of thing if you really want to go for it. If they essentially put a Star Wars skin on that, it would be a much better game than this.

I understand and sympathize with your frustrations. Hell, the other day I was playing a match of supremacy and was really irritated to find that everyone on my team took the "Fall back" message when you lose a control point way too literally. But I'm not sure what DICE could do to fix people being stupid.

Despite my belittlement at this game since the beta, I'm starting to get an itch for a Star Wars game after seeing the movie last night. I'll still have the will to hold out, purely because of the price tag. I'm in no way ready to pay $79 in Australia for a game that I feel like it'll only be enjoyable purely because it's Star Wars.

This relates more to your other posts. Whether it be an fps, fighter, racer, or third person (Souls series) I've yet to play an online game where a majority of people didn't play for k/d and use the most OP weapons/characters. You can bet a lot of people posting in this thread do the same thing.

Are they ever going to release Conquest?

I went back to the game this morning after seeing TFA and downloaded the Jakku map...only to be let down that the map is more or less just a repeat of TATOOINE with some TFA background art.

This new mode turning point seems like a hybrid of supremacy.

I dunno, I just don't feel the classic battlefront scale with this game. Just seems like infantry fighting 95% of the time with vehicles being a rarity to find on the map and use.

Makes me wish there were static bases for the imperials and rebels that held static spawns of the vehicles. Of course if they made classic conquest...we wouldn't have that problem.

You're totally entitled to your opinion, but you need to play the Jakku map more if you feel like it's like Tatooine. The only similarities is that both maps feature sand. Neither of their layouts are like any of the other.

I don't mind there being powerful weapons. What I mind is when the nature of the weapons creates an environment where the opposite of the intended gameplay is strongly encouraged. There was once a beautiful, incredibly balanced game called Unreal Tournament. It had several weapons that were all OP but in different ways. It is possible to make a balanced game where there is not one clear, most-effective way to be a trolly little twat. You can even count on people wanting to be that person as you design a game, to make the intended way of playing the most effective and rewarding way to play it in the tastes of your average person.

Sweet I'm a 50, but what do I do know besides getting Master on the Survival missions?

Come on, DICE, when's that DLC coming out?

I finally got the Blast trophy. All because for some reason the game never filled up over 5v5, so the timer ran out well before either side was at 100.

Is leveling the only reason you are playing?

Achievements at the moment. I have no real interest in getting the emotes or unlocking the rest of the character traits. Bounty Hunter is cool, though, but I think I'll just switch back to Scout. I just like to run around with my E-11, too.

Want some more maps on the big playlists, as that's what really tickles me.

Ah ok just wondering as I see several posts from people saying they are done playing when they hit level 50, until new content comes out.

I just did my first ragequit. Started a game of Walker Assault, it was early and a Y-Wing hadn't even locked in. Got killed 3 times in a row in less than 3 seconds each because Leia & friends had apparently moved up to behind the back AT-AT to spawn camp.

That should not even be possible. Why design a game where spawn camping like that is possible. I joined the game to play, not to wake up and die.

Message them saying you recorded and reported them. I said that to a guy spawn camping the TIE fighters. He tried explaining why he did it, but I wouldn't budge. I told him that spawn camping is bannable. He believed me and apologized. Felt so good.

I dinged 50 earlier and continue to play. All of this talk of hitting 50 and leaving is all fine and dandy. For me, however, I'm simply having fun with the game, and that keeps bringing me back. There are annoyances, sure, but I am sure they'll be addressed.

After a pretty strong game of Droid Run, I decided to try and upload a video of it. I haven't quite figured out the nuances of recording on the PS4, so this vid starts about a minute in to the game. I ended up with more than 40 kills and less than 10 deaths- using the DH-17 which, contrary to most here, I believe is the best pistol in the game. Tried the DL-44 plenty, and I cannot do what I've done here with that gun.

Battlefield 4 was almost unplayable due to server issues for quite some time, so I'll take the issues we have in Battlefront at this point over the issues we had in Battlefield in its initial stages. Hopefully it all evens out.

DH-17 might be the most balanced gun in the game. Top 3 for me. It is shockingly good, very underrated and underused.

Everyone should try the SE-14C and DH-17.

Great video and I agree about the pistol. Still hate homing shot though, it locks on way too fast. That being said, I hate bowcaster too since it's even easier to get kills when paired with jet pack. A lot of these secondary cards are a bit silly.

Now that the, I guess, mental "burden" of finally reaching 50 is lifted, I can finally just go all out and play without the HUD.

This game is way too gorgeous to obscure, even with the minimalist fonts and HUD. Endor looks amazing. 1st person for maximum "immersive-ness" (even though I'm a 3rd person guy when it comes to this game).

Without the HUD do you at least see the aiming reticule?

Now that I stopped using Bodyguard in favour of Scout Homing Shot went back to being annoying as fuck. The range and lock-on accuracy is ludicrous.

No, and you don't get it when you scope in, either. It's pretty neat, even if it doesn't make sense in that aspect (like looking down a scoped weapon).

Random, I think it's really cool to see all that sand get on your armor, especially when using the Black Stormtrooper.

Following the release of Star Wars Battlefront, DICE announced in December 2015 that the core team had moved on the the development of the next Battlefield.

http://battlefield.wikia.com/wiki/Battlefield_(2016)

I find that very interesting. I guess it means they left a very small group from DICE Sweden to handle the Battlefront DLC, kinda like what Visceral did with Hardline.

This means DICE LA is probably going to be called upon to work on BF5 instead of Battlefront.

I hope they put in good work. We've got 4 packs to go.

I'm not at all familiar of how DICE rolls out their post-launch content, so is this team good at what they do (the Sweden team).

Hey, let's put infantry turrets in bushes. It barely even shows up with a scan pulse, and can shoot from practically out of range of it anyway unless it is behind a tree from their angle, so they have to remember exactly what bush it was in and shoot it from super far away while hoping one of us don't catch them out. We'll also put infantry turrets on a high walking planks so it isn't visible from the ground, but it can somehow still shoot downward through the planks it is resting on. That way they have to remember exactly which plank it was on and somehow get up into the trees and find a clear shot from far away for the homing shot that they must have to be able to see it and lock on, all while hoping none of us catch them out while doing it. And hell, half of us will hide in the bushes, too, since we have perfect camo. We'll also have 2 of us hold on to orbital strikes so that while our bazillion Y-Wings are bombing we can utterly eviscerate the AT-AT in seconds. It takes a bit of controlled aiming, but we don't have to worry since we always have a hero on the ground to fuck shit up for us no matter how many times they kill the heroes. Truly this is genius game balance. They could deactivate uplinks if they were more skilled, but clearly we are more skilled. Such great game design.

Whenever I get one from the bounty hunter trait, its an easy 3-6 kills for me. There're many spots in basically all maps (specially if you know spawns) where those things are just too damn strong.

Do you not shoulder switch when in 3rd person? I'm constantly swapping shoulders. I'd get killed all the time if the camera was stuck on one shoulder view, especially when rounding corners.

Wow, I wish my infantry turrets shot through planks off angle.
The thing shot me from 30 feet over my head, and then the camera zoomed to show where it was to explain precisely what killed me and it was only looking at the underside of some walking planks. If it isn't supposed to do that, it didn't know.

The problems with WA on Endor are well documented but has anyone seen a Rebel win on Sullust supremacy? It just seems really badly skewed in favour of the Imperials. The central control point they can approach to its borders in complete cover and from an elevated position. The rebels can advance on it from the cover of the corridor bottleneck only to be met by a doorway you can't see you enemy through because of the light pouring in. They have to advance up the side of lava flow were they can be shot at again from an elevated position with cover from straight on and to their left, where there also happens to be a turret that can aim down-range and onto the control point. The middle (and most important) control point is simply in the wrong place. I've never lost as Imperials on this map and about 75% of the time we've won by taking ALL the control points, though whether this is because of people quitting out from the hopelessness of it I can't be sure.
