Just like I predicted. There's a reason they haven't done ANY EU adventures in-between Ep.VII and Ep.VIII; there aren't any!
Will be very interesting to see a crawl that doesnt deal with a time jump, that has sort of been the point of every one up til now, to inform us of whats happened in the time between films.
I do hope they do take into account the reaction that the 'sameness' of the tech in The Force Awakens. Say what you will about the Prequel-era, they expanded the universe in amazing ways. A 30 year jump should bring about some new stuff.
What if the bit where it picks up from TFA is before the crawl? They deal with Rey/Luke, then there's the crawl and time jump?
Would be very odd, but how else are they going to do it?
Depends how much time has actually passed at the end of TFA between them returning to base and Rey heading off to find Luke.

This being said, just because it starts at the end of tfa, doesnt mean it doesnt jump AFTER the opening scene.
They will never do this, Star Wars is about the old and rundown tech, they knew the prequels messed too much with the visual identity of Star Wars.
I don't mean technological advancements, just different stuff visually. Tech of other cultures and worlds, not the same TIEs and X-Wings (Literally all there was in TFA)
Hell, The TFA Visual dictionary literally says that the First Order was building tech in deep space, yet we saw none of it.

Well it isn't out for a year and a half
The prequels didn't mess with the visual identify at all. We just a saw a different era when things were less Scrappy and utilitarian. The Clone Wars and Rebels shows the progression from the tech of the PT to the OT in design. Plus we never see what planets like Naboo or Alderan look like in the OT films.
Yeah, surprised no new title reveal.
