I feel like if Ahsoka died to Vader last season then there really wasn't much of a point of her surviving the Clone Wars to begin with. Feels like a waste of their best non-movie character.

Other than the fact that she helped build the rebellion.

They're really going on hard with the 2nd half of this season, loving the sound of it. More titles and descriptions out today...

Episode 316: “Legacy of Mandalore”
Air date: February 18, 2017

Hoping to get her family to help the Rebels, Sabine returns home with Kanan and Ezra, and finds herself embroiled in her family’s power struggle for Mandalore.

Episode 317: “Through Imperial Eyes”
Air date: February 25, 2017

Fearing that the identity of a rebel spy will soon be discovered by the Empire, the Rebels launch a rescue plan to rescue him before he is caught.

The end of Kallus, then?

That may be the only way we get one or both of them to die. I highly doubt they'd do it on the show.

Kanan is definitely going in the show. I'd bet at the hands of
Ezra
.

I hope they won't end Kanan and Ezra's storyline in a novel after the show ends.

Like Assajj Ventress.

That would suck.
I'd accept that but only if they give me a scene of Sabine chilling in a cantina alone during or after the OT somehow at some point(maybe the Boba Fett movie if it happens and isn't a prequel).
I expect the Mandalorians follow her for a bit with the Rebel Alliance but eventually turn on her and the Rebels.

Something has to happen with Ezra and Kanan.
Hera and Chopper stay super dedicated to the Rebels(don't know what that means post Rogue One)
Zeb I have no freaking clue, he can hang with Sabine I guess.

That only happened because of the cancellation. As long as the show doesn't end prematurely before all of its stories are told, it should be fine.

It's arguable the crew of the Ghost died in the battle of Scarif.

The Ghost was taken part in the battle still when Vader's devastator arrived and started blowing the shit out of everyone as as many rebel ships fled via hyperspace as possible. Having seen Rogue One four times now the Ghost was NOT shown on screen making the jump to hyperspace.

It is possible that the Ghost was one of the ships destroyed in the fight once Vader arrived. We at this time has no indication or proof they made it out of the battle alive.

With Saw, Mon Motha, and the deathtroopers showing up, what are the odds we see some more Rogue One characters as the show goes on?

Pretty sure
probe droids are those funky things from the beginning of Empire.
Also don't think we need an origin episode for
K2SO,
or anyone from any of the films for that matter.

That's what I thought initially too, but Zeb and Chopper know what a probe droid is, right? They were in S2.

Then again, maybe not, since the rebel leadership in ESB seemed to be encountering one for the first time.

I want Rae Sloane.

This one really seems inevitable to me.

Spoilers for those of us who can't watch until later?

Hera informed the Rebel council of the state of Geonosis after the episode last season the Rebel council sent Saw and a team to investigate.

The Ghost crew is sent to find Saw.

There is a lone Geonosian alive that is using a shield generator and loads of old battle droids for some reason....
It killed all of Saw's crew.

They capture it and question it, it keeps drawing a circle within a bigger circle,
at first they think it represents the egg it was trying to protect,
later they think it was referring to the Imperial logo on poison gas canisters they find.

It is very obvious to the audience it is the Death Star.

I want Rae Sloane.

I thought it was actually happening this episode but it seems like it was a random black female Imperial Captain.

Cool, thanks.

And I read on TFN about the captain. Apparently her name is Bursin.

Really enjoyed it. They did a good job of making me care about the Geonosian and portraying Saw as a morally gray asshole. I didn't like that they pulled back on that at the end though, doesn't line up with the Saw of Rogue One. But it's a kids show and the heroes have to learn their lesson at the end right?

And, damn, Rex throwing some shade at Kanan. "He's no Skywalker."

Saw will probably be around for a bit and won't back down hopefully.
He still has to get screwed up as well and I really hope it happens on Rebels.

That Skywalker line was so perfect imo.

Best episode of the season easily.

I wish they were all like this. It's amazing what even just a 2 parter/40 minutes allows a story to be instead of the clusterfuck they've largely had with 20 min episodes.

I noticed Filoni has a writing credit on these two episodes. Glad he still has some involvement in the show.

Great set of episodes, loved how integrated everything is becoming. It's kind of weird how even the rebels are space racists though with everyone constantly calling Geonosians "bugs".

Hope we see Vader's castle in the show since Pablo was so excited about it in the Recon.

The two parter was... fine... for what it was. I don't think it really gave us much additional insight into Saw's character (in fact barely feels like the same character we see in RO despite the timelines being so close, but whatever). I kinda liked the little Geonosian character and the egg but sadly it's relegated to a plot device for Saw and not much else else.

I'm just kinda done with these recon episodes. Go to location, usually either an abandoned planet or an empire base, retrieve the item or person while fighting, retreat. Feels like half of every season is that over and over. Clone wars was a lot more varied in that regard.

From the previews there's definitely some episodes coming up that look interesting (darksaber, kenobi/maul, hopefully some vader stuff at his castle but maybe that's too hopeful)

Oddly enough for being an Oscar winning actor guest-starring in a children's television show, Forest Whittaker's performance seemed a little off in this episode.

His level of involvement hasn't changed at all, this was clarified in an interview with Rebel Forde Radio some time ago.

The new director (name escapes me) is doing most of the day to day leg work, but Dave still oversees the entire operation.

Everything has to be somewhat small scale as far as the Rebel Alliance is concerned because ANH tells us Rogue One was truly the first major victory.

So is that egg going to hatch into the same queen that we saw in the Vader comic or was that one a different one altogether? Because if it's the former, then that means there is no future for the species.

It is weird that Saw aged about 30 years, lost both his legs and fucked up his lungs sometime between this episode and Rogue One.

Must have been a rough year!

Chopper acting all high and mighty for his Rogue One cameo and then being looked down by R2 being drived around in a nice car cracked me up.

His lungs got messed up because of the Geonosian insecticide according to the Rogue One visual guide.
