Star Wars: Rogue One Story Trailer

The calculating odds line was definitely a C3PO reference, but his other line and his intimidating appearance are immediately communicating something more along the lines of HK-47 or Mr. Bones. Less "obnoxious twit" and more "uncomfortably homicidal".

Yeah, with his first line I was thinking the same thing (specifically about HK-47), but by the end where they're just like "oh, that's our silly little robot! He means well!" I was kinda bummed.

Again though, this is a very preliminary opinion based on a trailer. I'd never be stupid enough to make judgement calls about the quality of the entire product based on a few seconds of jumbled footage.

Looks fantastic.

Disney hasn't screwed up Marvel yet, and they didn't screw up Force Awakens. Until they actually do screw something up I'm totally buying what they're selling.

Thought it looked terrible, especially in regards to the acting and line deliveries. Also I get it. Darth Vader is in the movie. I don't even like Vader anyway, get his appearance over with so we can move on.

Cipher Peon, you have the weirdest movie taste that I have ever seen.

Anyone who needs a refresher on what Greig Fraser can do should watch Killing them Softly and Zero Dark Thirty, both films are absolutely gorgeous. He was a great get for Rogue One.

Lol, both films that are actually on my watch list... got to speed up the schedule it seems now tho

Is there a term for the performative disliking of something?

Because goddamn some of you people apparently expected this trailer to personally give you a sponge bath or something.

Also can we just stop with complaints about Star Wars movies having things in them that All Star Wars Movies have, like stupid one-liners, stupid one-liners being said by droids and Darth Fucking Vader!?

What do you even want from these movies if you are complaining about fucking Vader?!

Wasn't really reeled in from the original trailer, but this new promo's got me hyped.

Admittedly, as a veteran of the old EU (and all of its craziness), I've grown a bit weary of these things that try to cram in things in a pre-ANH era. But I'm more than willing to see how this new movie fits into Disney's EU and what story it stands to tell.

Reading what was already given to the press about K-2SO, looks like you have nothing to fear.

From Entertainment Weekly
K-2SO (Alan Tudyk)

This towering, powerful security droid is described by Edwards as “the antithesis of C-3PO.” In other words, he’s tough, confident, not especially interested in "human/cyborg relations," and the complete opposite of a neurotic fussbudget. “Kaytoo is a little bit like Chewbacca's personality in a droid’s body,” Edwards says. “He doesn’t give a s--- about what you think. He doesn't fully check himself before he says things and does things. He just speaks the truth.” Like Jyn, he’s also seeking a bit of redemption for past wrongs. Droids, too, can have regret.

I feel you. I really do.

First I've heard of the character, and I love everything in that quote.

This trailer looks way better than the last.

I find it difficult to get excited about this particular story, but it's still Star Wars.

Jyn got me feeling all sorts of things

phew

I think some of you are expecting too much out of Vader's appearance. At most he'll probably just kill off some incompetent Imperial folks that failed at their jobs. Basically a cameo/guest appearance.

Nah. There's literally no chance he doesn't cut the rebels to pieces in the end.

Nah. The final act will be Donnie Yen taking him on one on one wuxia style in an epic martial arts force battle while the others escape. Expectations through the roof!!!!!

D:
Choo choo motherfucker. Although I know this is a joke, I wonder if his baton could charge up to fight a light saber.

Why does he need to charge up anything. He's a blind super warrior. A lightsaber needs to actually hit something to work. Vader has no chance. Rogue One? More like Zato-One!
