The only blemish on the cinematography in TFA is the occasional dutch angle. Otherwise, it stands head and shoulders above every other Star Wars film save TESB. Go back and admire those alternating close-ups of the prequels and tell me TFA doesn't curb stomp that shit.

I was mostly referring to the characters. The trailer has done nothing to sell me on them at all.

I can almost see the glorious sacrifice already. Pretty boiler plate stuff.

I'm not sure why it is the responsibility of a trailer to do this?

Thats...thats what the movie itself is for.

Star Wars hasn't shied away from blood. It's just kept in check.

Yeah I know, but that's about it. The ANH lightsaber wound only has blood because Lucas wanted to make sure to get the movie to PG instead of G (same reason Owen and Beru's corpses are shown), otherwise all lightsaber wounds have cauterization. And Slip's bloody hand mark is there as a clever little visual marker serving a thematic purpose. But I feel like when people talk about Vader as a slasher horror villain they want blood and guts.

Fringe looked great for its budget, but it certainly doesn't look like The Force Awakens.

I think Fringe might have actually had better effects.

Can't stop rewatching the trailer. I'm so hyped but the "thanks" and "good" lines really don't land well... at all lol

I just cannot get over how fucking awesome that beach battle is going to be. And now we have a late night raid in the rain it looks like?!

Goddamn, this movie.

It's going to be as epic as Episode III

I thought for sure the big set piece of the movie would be the beach scene but it like there will be a ton of them that we didn't know about before.

The X-Wings swooping in at night is probably the beginning of the battle mentioned in the ANH crawl.

"Rebel spaceships, striking from a hidden base, have won their first victory against the evil Galactic Empire. During the battle, Rebel spies managed to steal secret plans to the Empire’s ultimate weapon, the DEATH STAR, an armored space station with enough power to destroy an entire planet."

They still havent shows Mads. I suspect he will be shown in flashbacks mostly.
Flashbacks... I just realized Star Wars is practically devoid of flashbacks. Only example I can think of in the movies is The Force Awakens, and there it's a Force vision.
