The most expensive one costs 1.5 million -___- (though it's not any faster... it might offer more protection)

I should say that with the discovery of the bugged Texture setting and streamlining of other graphics bars/options, game is more pleasing to play.

One thing I don't know is the things I did in Nvidia Inspector are taking effect or not, gonna try to reset those to default and see how gfx and fps does.

It seems after the current patch, the settings seem appropriate. They also put back in the High shadows setting.

Anybody know what all is available/accessible in the CE Store?

I don't have it, but just curios

Vanity items. Stuff that collector edition guy's can get to show off they have the CE. Stuff like CE armor that's probably just coloured differently. Example is that weird ass yellow crystal for preorders.

Though I did hear that there are CE club only companion kits. Not sure if it is true though.

I have been reading on forums of people planning to buy their armor from CE Shop and stuff. So, I didn't know if the CE Shop was going to have like normal armor for people to buy as they level or as you say just vanity items.

Also, Doumand Krass Chat = Barrens Chat

If you happen to be in a Barnes & Noble and have some time to kill, I can seriously recommend looking through the "Art and History" book. Some cool concept art I hadn't seen before and a little backstory to flip through.

The official website actually has more concept art on it than that book does.

So, I was thinking I need something to play while I wait for TOR.

Why not KotOR 1?

But I finished that already... maybe a Bioware game I never played?

Jade Empire?

Screw that, I'll just replay KotOR.

So I've been trying to log in to swtor.com for like four days now, and every time I get the message that a "SWTOR.COM PASSWORD IS REQUIRED" after I input the proper e-mail/password.

Are their servers just going nuts, or is this some idiotic way of telling me that my password is wrong or my account is locked for some reason?

I think at some point they sent out an e-mail stating that older accounts needed to create a new password after some security changes they made.

I just replayed KOTOR recently in anticipation...going through KoTOR 2 right now..... (much better game)

Hell no KOTOR 2 was just a mess.

Even without the community patch it is the superior game. Kreia and Atton are infinitely more interesting character's than anyone from KotOR imo. Only Jolee Bindo really holds a candle to them. Sure Malachor V comes a bit out of nowhere, and various plot points (HK assassin droids) are left uncompleted, but it still comes across as a more interesting game. With the community patch that adds in a lot of the content that was incomplete at the time of release it's even better.

The problem with KOTOR2 is just that it wasn't finished when it came out. It's a great game with a bunch of really strong characters that falls apart at the end.

The restoration patch doesn't fix all its problems, but it definitely helps.

Yes but even unfinished it has great characters and writing (dare I say superior). I really hope there are nods to KoToR2 somewhere in ToR. Not sure if they will be since they are 2 different developers associated with each game but one can hope.

I read the Revan book that sets a bunch of TOR stuff up a couple weeks ago. The events of KOTOR2 are mentioned and the Exile is in it, but it's clear that Revan and the KOTOR1 story are getting much more (if not all) of the focus from here on out.

I was actually pretty disappointed in that book's use of the Exile. I played KOTOR2 first and I'm way more invested in her than anyone from KOTOR1, but she's pretty much only there as a sidekick for Revan. I would have loved to see her get her own story, but that's clearly not happening now.

There was some good ideas and potential, but to me the story was a mess in KOTOR2 and I just didn't agree with alot of the crap they tried to say about the force. KOTOR 1 was a more simple story but also fit with the nature of Star Wars, and it was a far more complete experience. The gameplay improved greatly over the first, but for the most part I thought everything was inferior in 2. The Exile also I felt was just not as interesting a character to play as.

As a Sith, you get to join the Cult of Revan whose leader believes that Revan is the new Emperor of the Sith (who has apparently been asleep for centuries) but the Dark Council locked him up as they don't like Revan.

You also get the option to save the cult or turn them in.

Does HK-47 not count because he is in both games?

I disagree completely. I was never grabbed by Kotor 2, which has lame enemies, lame good guys and a boring and confused story. Kotor 1 may be more streamlined but who cares? It's got Calo Nord, HK-47, Bindo, bitch Carth to harass and the most awesome Mission Vao, a gripping story and lots of interesting twists

Aren't you part of the Obsidian Detriment force? Not just a member, but the president?

KotOR II HK-47 is a much, much, much better character than KotOR I KH-47

Hell, T3-M4 in KotOR II is better written than half of KotOR I's cast.

I agree, but KotOR's HK-47 is a great character, save for his final "realization".

I am not really invested in Star Wars or the force as a concept so maybe that's why KoToR2 stood out to me. I also thought The Exile was much more interesting to play as since the story is about discovering motivation rather than being led by destiny.

To me the clearest reason 2 is a better game than 1 is that I remember all of the main characters in 2. Your companions, each of the Sith villians and of course the protagonist. I can't really say that about 1, even though I've replayed both a good number of times.

To each his own, they are both certainly good games in their own right. I hope that the events of KoToR2 aren't brushed aside though because of who is making the "3rd" installment.

I remember Kreia and a few of the Jedi masters (Zez Kai-Ell, Vanndar, the dude voiced by Ed Asner whose name I don't remember). I vastly preferred the gameplay in the second one. There were a lot more interesting skills and more levels available in KotOR2. Ultimately, the goodness of the story in the first one hinged heavily on the Tyler Durden-esque reveal late in the game.

So after reading up some more, I think I've settled on rolling a consular/inquisitor. Is there any sort of consensus on which class has a better story?

One person says one thing, another says another. Just play what you think is the right class. Don't let anyone dissuade you otherwise.

I think he is more interesting in the second game. In both he plays the role of a exposition bot/time capsule. He's obviously a better character than Mission, but I still think Bindo is the strongest character in KotOR.

I've heard Consular has a fairly dull story until midway through Act 2, but I've also heard that the Inquisitor storyline isn't consistent as well and becomes weaker as the acts go by. But that is just what I've heard, haven't played the game for more than an hour during the last weekend beta.

Inquisitor story is probably more interesting. The general consensus is that consular has the worst story.

I'm not a big fan of the Bounty Hunter story, I haven't finished it yet, but at level 25 it's not great.

So if it's worse than BH, then it must really suck.

Reset your password, easiest way for me was just going to ea.com and changing it to the exact same password.

KOTOR 2 looks better, is more interesting (though I'll admit, the whole beginning of KOTOR 2 is kind of slow), and seems to play a lot better than KOTOR1. Oh yeah, and I don't have to wait for characters to catch up to me before I change areas.

Oh yeah, HK-47 is much better in KOTOR2 too!

I dunno, it just seems like KOTOR was so much more bland than I remembered it...

though of course, KOTOR2 is not without its faults....the first time I played the game, I hated it because of that asstastic ending, but the patches have more than made up for it!

Granted, i've only played characters to lvls10-15, but god the writers have came up with boring story scenarios.
Consular story is truly boring jargon, jedi is mildly better but still meh, BH started off interesting, but it feels like that story line should have been wrapped up already(at lvl15) i really hope this one story idea does not span the whole experience. Gameplay wise BH is my favorite at the moment.
Imperial Agent seems like the only one that is potentially interesting, but the class seems worse than others that i've experimented with. Not a fan of the cover system and as a pvp guy i can imagine it being even more tedious in pvp.

It's also pretty lame that classes are mirrored between the factions. At least give a few unique skills to each class.
