Granted, i've only played characters to lvls10-15, but god the writers have came up with boring story scenarios.
Consular story is truly boring jargon, jedi is mildly better but still meh, BH started off interesting, but it feels like that story line should have been wrapped up already(at lvl15) i really hope this one story idea does not span the whole experience. Gameplay wise BH is my favorite at the moment.
Imperial Agent seems like the only one that is potentially interesting, but the class seems worse than others that i've experimented with. Not a fan of the cover system and as a pvp guy i can imagine it being even more tedious in pvp.

It's also pretty lame that classes are mirrored between the factions. At least give a few unique skills to each class.

You played the wrong classes. The Jedi are shit.

~sigh~

Can't make KotOR compatibility work, so I'm not gonna bother trying.

I'll just play Saints Row or something.

I get the impression that all stories are too streched out to stay interesting and it really depends on the player character to keep it somewhat entertaining. Jedis just don't have anything to offer in that regard.

If you think the bh story is trash, try the trooper. For the portion i got to see it was much better.

Trooper was too "military" for me. Played too many of those games, and Jennifer Hale's military voice... ugh. I wish she had another role.

Seeing a distinct lack of healers questing in the 4 group quests on DK
Healers aren't really needed for those quests. Pretty much any 4 people should do.

On the story, front I think I'd rank them, including the highest level character I'd played of that class:

1) Imperial Agent (10)
2) Bounty Hunter (27)
3) Sith Warrior (10)
4) Sith Inquisitor (10)
5) Jedi Knight (16)
6) Trooper (10)
7) Smuggler (10)
8) Jedi Consular (50)

Of course this could all change in the later acts. I thought the JC story was absolutely garbage until the latter half of Act 3. Getting
Nadia
certainly helped.

I love the IA story as opposed to the Smuggler story. Every smuggler mission ended with
"Thank you, but your starship is in another castle."

Wow I just read a summary of the Revan book. ...I don't know how to feel really...
Poor T3 getting wrecked. But I didn't expect the Exile to get fucked like that... She "lives on" in Revan but we'll still never see her again which sucks. I guess it really does fit based on the end-game spoilers that someone posted before.

TOR SPOILERS

Revan and the Exile are both in TOR

Where can I find this good summary?

Guess I need to grab the Revan ebook. Read somewhere else it give some nice background info for TOR, and I intend to be a Lore Whore about this game.

Jedi are definitely more fun if you play the dark path, which is basically the snarky petulant teenager path but imo it's more entertaining.

KOTOR 2 looks better, is more interesting (though I'll admit, the whole beginning of KOTOR 2 is kind of slow), and seems to play a lot better than KOTOR1. Oh yeah, and I don't have to wait for characters to catch up to me before I change areas.

Oh yeah, HK-47 is much better in KOTOR2 too!

I dunno, it just seems like KOTOR was so much more bland than I remembered it...

though of course, KOTOR2 is not without its faults....the first time I played the game, I hated it because of that asstastic ending, but the patches have more than made up for it!

Kotor 2 > Kotor 1

So I need a quick clarification on this. I don't have a ton of interest in this right now, I'll probably never buy it but who knows.

Is the retail version of this still Origin free? I remember a long time ago I think they said it was but the digital version was only on Origin. If that's still the case that's a big check mark in the buy column for me.

You don't need Origin to play the game. Maybe to d/l but that's about it.

And I think I've changed my mind to being an Assassin tank. Call me super curious.

No version of the game is free. The digital version is only available from Origin. However, Origin is not needed to download or play the game (an Origin account=Bioware Social account= EA Account is though).

Do you only get flashpoint missions from the fleet?

All Flashpoint missions can be picked up on the fleet, but they also tend to appear at the Spaceports on level appropriate planet and direct you to the fleet.

So what is the deal with the VIP lounge? Anyone see the gear you can purchase in there? What is it equivalent to? Random greens? Quest rewards? FPs? Or just all visual candy?

I think one thing seem worrying... There seem to be almost no quests when you go to lvl 25+ zones...
Hm? There seemed to be a steady stream of missions from 1-30 that I witnessed.

Also are there "bonus" quest series on every planet? I found the storylines for those to be on par with class storylines, though I only did Nar Shadda and Tatooine.

So playing a consular up to level 38 I'm going to say this.

Dark I = Smart ass

Dark II = A Dick

Dark III = You're basically one cruel hateful asshole.

There is a quest where
You need to help this guy's mother....you have the option to kill her flatout/

It's SOOOOO much better than the light side it's not even funny. Light side is way too detached and passionless for lack of a better word.

First thing I do in an mmo is make A and D strafe >.< It seems crazy to me for it to be any other way.

Coruscant was pretty boring >_<; in fact most of the Republic side stuff was kinda... lifeless?

I dont know, it just seems kinda crap.

Also they neeeeeeeeed to make run/sprint whatever it is a lvl 1 ability, you pretty much spend 95% of your time running in the earlier quests.... its just lame to arbitarily make 'run' a lvl 14 or whatever ability.

Also why the hell do you have to 'find' each 'hearth' or whatever you call it spot? Its such a stupid system where you end up kicking yourself if you happen to miss a spot accidently.

I dont get why Republic seems worse, they just do. They managed to caputre their lameness and reinforce it with unexciting quests characters and worlds to explore.

Also I really hate the 'capital' cities in this game, its like an even bigger iron forge for both sides with some slight tweaks to it flying through space. Why the hell isnt coruscant the capital for the Republic? Why is it a lvl 10-16 questing hub? Same goes for Empire.

Coruscant doesnt even feel like a city >.< its weird.

I really hate it, I went through it last beta, and its probably the main reason I wont play a Republic class if I do get the game.

Also wtf at having no choice? Why is there only one 10-16 zone? One of the things I like about wow is that you have so much choice, especially now, of where you you want to lvl... here its much more of a linear experience >.> And thats less fun in an mmo imo. (although the new 5 zone expacs are kinda killing that at high lvl >.<)

I hate that the 'story' apparently also means less 'stuff' fewer worlds and areas to explore, because they have to voice every single side quest. I would much prefer to simply have the main 'class' quests voiced, and the companions, and just leave the rest to good ole fashion reading if it means we get more stuff to explore and more variety in what we can do.

I've been thinking about getting this after watching some playthrough videos (not sure if my computer can handle it...). It looks like a great game for an altoholic like me (I got most classes in WoW up to level 30 at least). What percentage of the quests are actually class-specific? If I reroll a bounty hunter after playing an imperial agent am I going to be going through a bunch similar quests in between the main class-specific quests?

The class quests are very limited. (But very fun) Basically most of the game is just grinding through WoW/MMO type grinding quests. They do have stories, but you're not going to get too involved in them unless you're trying to get with the quest giver.

Republic and Imperial both go through the same set of quests after level 10 all the way up until level cap. Each faction has it's own set, like Horde and Alliance in WoW.

Thanks for the info. Kinda disappointing that the class quests are limited, but I'll probably still get the game.

I personally found the pacing pretty good as far as i played (up to 16 with IA and SI).

When you get your class story quest there is usually 2-3 other quests in the same place that you pretty much complete with minimal fuss. So its just like playing the main quest most of the time. No idea on higher levels though.
