Even if you order it online and have it shipped they will have to provide a download link for early access

Heads up for everyone who ordered the DD. The code you got is for the preorder bonuses (crystal and early access). There will likely be another code sent to unlock the DD bonuses.

On my Origin account history it says my order is "submitted". What does that mean? I guess that means it's still processing.

Why limit digital pre-orders? That just seems so backwards. Set up "blocks" of unlimited download speeds for pre-orderers if their issue is bandwidth.

October 1st - October 7th: Pre-order #1-10000
October 8th - October 15th: Pre-order #10001-20000
etc
etc

If you can't download in that timeframe, throttle at 300kb/s.

I preordered a regular edition from Amazon, got my code, and registered it on the ToR site. Will probably cancel that copy though in the coming days.

Preordered the physical CE from Origin just in case. They're only charging $20 for now, so that's good.

But hopefully I can hit up GS in the morning, and preorder a physical CE from the store.

Preordered the Digital Deluxe edition. My holiday starts in ten days so beta access by then would be very welcome. Although with my luck chances are I'll get a beta invite two weeks before release.

Maybe they're not sure they can meet demand? I imagine they only want to have so many keys in circulation.

I remember WOTLK having preorders for the CE up for A day. Literally 24 hours

Nope, they didn't have it when I put the standard edition on my wish list. Probably because the contents were unknown.

Neither version shows up in a search yet, and there is no link to the Collector's Edition from the standard version. So while the page may exist, there has never been a way for anyone to find it.

Edit: I would have made bank tonight if I were an Amazon affiliate!

You are indeed correct. Well the DD edition anyway. As for WOTLK collectors (and cata), a lot of these orders were bought by companies - and had quite a lot left over at retail outlets (HMV in central london had about 10 of each for almost a year).

Still waiting for the UK retail stores to update their page with the CE pre-order.

That depends. Atleast in my country they're releasing preorder codes on 25th for physical CE.

If I preorder on Origin, am I charged only the preorder cost listed? I can't make up my mind between the Digital Deluxe and the Collector's Edition so I'm thinking of just preordering both and cancelling one later.

edit: Apparently it is only the preorder cost. I'll put down for both of them then.

If thats true and they are limiting orders BY COUNTRY then that is dumb. It's a DIGITAL download...

EDIT: Maybe I will just change my country to the US... they wont know... because its a DIGITAL download.

OMG! Received email from origin: "Unfortunately, we had some problems processing your order. You have seven (7) days to correct these errors and complete your order."

Shit! I re-entered my CC info but didn't receive an update. FUUUCK!

Then I noticed the CE is now up on Amazon.

Pre-ordered, receieved code, redeemed code. And relief washed over me in an awesome wave.

Fuck you Origin, canceling that bullshit pre-order tomorrow as soon as their customer service is available. No tax for me!

Ordered again through the Origin page because the password I typed in was wrong (I think). Hopefully I'll get my code and be able to cancel one of the orders.
