So we went from all CEs generally being 80 to all of them being 100. If this sells, and it will, they'll all be 150. How much was SC 2's?
I paid $120 for my SC2 CE, $70 for WotLK CE and $80 for Cataclysm CE. I can't remember how much I paid for my World of Warcraft CE.

I have never ordered from Amazon.com before so a few questions...

Can someone confirm that you are NOT charged the cost of the CE until it ships?

Does it place a hold on your CC in anyway?

Are they really letting you order for the advance playtime and then cancelling? What are you going to do when the game actually launches?
Amazon never charges or puts a hold on any preorders. Wont be charged til its ready to ship. They are a fantastic service and if you are lucky enough you can avoid paying tax that EA charges.

I still can't believe how shitty Origin is... I guess I'll just put faith in my Amazon pre-order. At least my code has already been activated.

Keep the faith man. So if all these CE orders are limited, why not give us some awesome beta access ehhhhh?

So wait

THe CE is $150 on amazon with $3 next day shipping

on Origin its $20 for the preorder + $150 so your at $170 + $14 if you want 1-2 day deliever so your at $184

Dang EA knows how to bend over its fans

If the game cost $100 m to make and they sell 100 thousand Ce's at $160 average selling price they just pulled in $16m out of just 100k buyers.

Then it seems the digital collectors is $80 if they can do 500k of those its $40m

I think we know how EA is going to make the money back , the game could break even on the day its released. Esp if they move alot of CE

EA is doing 129.99 for CE +$20 Preorder downpayment so 149.99 then you have to pay Tax etc

You won't be charged until the game ships. The cancellation e-mail I received after I preordered did say it may have placed a hold on the card. I didn't see one after I checked my account though.

Hmm... so now I wonder if I should leave my order with Origin, or place thru Amazon (The CE shipped to Canada within 1-3 days is almost $200.)

Doesn't read that way

If your request is successful, your credit card will be charged for the pre-order. Your card will be charged for the price of the edition you ordered when the game is released. If you have questions, please see our pre-order FAQ.

Reads that they are charging $20 now and then the price of the edition you ordered ($150 for ce) later

I'm really curious as to what is going to be offered/how the "exclusive" store for the physical CE is going to work. Exclusive items that you buy with in-game money or real money? A limited selection of items from the start that doesn't expand, or becomes an ever-updated thing, increasing the value? Can you sell/trade the items from this store to other players? Cosmetic items only, or items that have utility/other value?

That would be the only thing that would have me interested in the physical CE ($150 is still probably too high for me anyway) over the digital deluxe or regular boxed copy. I wouldn't care about the extra droid, but this store has me worried/concerned. It seems like a really powerful bonus and I'd like it to be explained more.

Hell, even $60 for the regular edition is a little on the high side for me to jump into a new, untested (to the greater public over an extended period of time) MMO even if it does have a substantive leveling/single-player component. I may hold out for a $40 or less sale.

Which pisses me off that they've already charged my card the $170.32.

Could have put me in the red had I not just so happened to deposit a bunch of cash today.

Well certain errors indeed. It's not even available through origin in Finland.

Click the link in the preorder under each item. Its a store that sets up in game that allows one to purchase merchandise unique to Collectors Edition buyers. They even show the NPC that will sell the wares.

Yeah I suspect EA is doing a Hold attempt to verify full amount before they charge 20. I got a follow up email saying was an error processing my order and I know exactly why. My account is low til payday. I was only expecting the $20 charge.

Man I hate Origin. I understand that there is a lot of traffic on the site but damn, can't see my order history for my Digital Deluxe order status, say's to retry later...

At least I got my key from my Standard Amazon order...

Well the physical pre-order links for the UK go to Game, Amazon and Play. None of them have the preorder up yet.

Wake up!

How I feel. Employee's are working, but no update. The shame.

Edit - Amazon have removed their placeholder on the UK site, so I expect pre-orders of at least the normal version to open within the hour. Come on CE!

I'd guess the items in the shop will be cosmetic items. I could picture a special lightsaber crystal that's available only in the store.

I am in the same boat. I got my original "we got your preorder!" email from EA/Origin, but nothing since. No code, no record under my order history, no game listed in my games list. I ordered the Amazon regular one to be safe as well.

they are already giving a combat droid to ce and digital deluxe users and a mount so in theory they are already letting those with money level quicker. We could see more things like this from the CE store

Ordered from Amazon.... got my Preorder key 2 seconds later. Still nothing from Origin.

Might just keep the physical one... impressed with Amazon so far.

If you order the Digital CE, they did say it would take up to 48 hours. Did no one read this?

Everything went through without a single hitch on my end. Pre-order made, confirmation received, codes get, codes registered and the game shows up in "My Games" in Origin. No fuss, no muss.

I was referring specifically to the vendor itself and whatever he sells. Those were my concerns. Again, it seems like it could be a very powerful feature and that sort of bothers me as a completionist unless it's further clarified exactly what will be offered and how it will work, especially since the CE is probably out of my price range (stupid statue bumping up the price - no interest in that at all.)

All the other bonuses are fine - just like the WoW pets or whatever other digital goodies CEs usually have which are mostly cosmetic/don't impact the game too much.

If it's all/mostly cosmetic that's fine by me, just as long as the coolest stuff is still earned by actually playing the game. That's the tipping point for me when it comes to the micro-transaction/digital goods model. I'm not excessively cash poor, but I'm usually more time rich, and so I'd rather spend that time playing whatever game than working however many hours.

So how does the early start work for the physical edition? You enter your code, and you can still download it early?

I'm assuming it's basically a digital download so it's really identical to the digital version.

That's what it says on the official page.

"How will I be able to gain access to the Game in time for Early Game Access?

Customers who have redeemed their Pre-Order Code for Star Wars: The Old Republic will be notified via email prior to the beginning of Early Game Access that the Game client is ready for download. Another email will be sent at the beginning of Early Game Access to inform players that they can now access Star Wars: The Old Republic"

I have a question, I'll be studying abroad overseas in the fall in Japan. Could I buy the the digital version and download the Client before the game launches?

Early Access to start the actual game before launch.

I doubt they will let you get the client more than a week or two before launch.
