There's no way that guy has ever played Starcraft before.

The mouse cursor is not always confined to the game window when running windowed fullscreen mode with dual monitors.
Better step your game up :lolraphier said:hmm after watching the stream, I feel the game's pacing is too fast. the combat goes matter of seconds.

i have that card and the 1024VRam is nice, its pretty powerful but i wouldnt take bets on maxing out at 1080P with it.KnightM7 said:Getting a new laptop in the next few months.
So does anyone think an ati 4650 Mobility will be able to max out this game in 1080p? or should I go for the newer 5650 or better? i3 or i5?
And by max out I also mean being able to play all the eventual 10 player thousand unit TD/zergling blood maps that are sure to come.
EDIT: Well, the combat felt little slower in starcraft 1.Zzoram said:Welcome to Starcraft. The fast pace of the game is what makes this game unique.
raphier said:Well, the combat was litle slower from what I played in starcraft 1.
coopolon said:Wow, only 400 people playing right now. Then again, it is still work day on West Coast.
EDIT: I see I made a mistake. I meant that Broodwar was slower.Zzoram said:I'm not sure I understand. Does that mean you think Broodwar is faster or slower?
This!BishopLamont said:God damn why didn't I sign up for the beta :/
raphier said:I honestly don't know anymore I have to experience it myself, but looking how 5 zealots are able to take down the building so fast in beta, I think it's even faster how they would take down same in broodwar. The overall "Damaging" feels like everything has less health than before.
On the otherside, the mineral-gathering is now even faster thanks to larger setup at the beginning of the game.

The gamma appears to be a bit darker than they really are in these shows, which actually gives the game better depth than the default settings in games, heh.
Right here.
Anyway, time for bed as it's nearly midnight here, but I will post some more shots tomorrow.
I actually bothered to create a Battle.net "account", registered my Starcraft and both Warcraft III + expansion, but at that time there was no beta opt-in for SC2. God damn.Caesar III said:This!
I didn't bother so much that I did not create a Battle.net account.
I did this now but my games are gone. I don't know where they are but I own all of them except WoW. FUCK
Yes, although with only a 1.46GB download, something tells me this is not representative of what we'll see come release, so don't fret if you're not blown away.jsrv said:Are these at ultra settings?
I just checked my battle.net account. Frankly I didn't expect to be accepted yet as they said the US would be first in, but hey.JonStark said:Do they send you a mail or do you have to go and check your Bnet account ?

That said, this is a Blizzard game so they usually go for high compatibility, AND the animation is top notch, something you can't really do justice with in screenshots.

If nobody else hasn't done it by tomorrow, I'll be glad to do so.jsrv said:Looks okay to me, though I kind of thought those were at high setting. Any chance you could do a High setting vs. Ultra setting comparison screenshot?
Sure thing.Caesar III said:@ stop it: can I use your shots to upload to my webpage?
Its also a listed bug for a BETA. Strong chance of getting fixed by gold.BlueScrote said:It is kind of obnoxious, but I don't know if any other games with a "mouse like cursor" behave "correctly" in that circumstance, i.e. not grabbing the mouse context.
Stop It said:If nobody else hasn't done it by tomorrow, I'll be glad to do so.
Seriously though, I can see where the work has been put into, the UI is near perfect, the animation is incredible. I can live with these graphics frankly, especially at the FPS the game pulls. I was pushing some serious units by the end and although the FPS counter said 50, it was still as smooth as silk.

What's the biggest battle you ran in to, and did FRAPS drop from 60 (even for a split second)? I would imagine a GTX 275 would be sufficient to max the game, but I have no idea when there's like 300 zerglings on the screen at once with explosions etc, if it'd drop a bit.
DoW II definitely doesn't hold 60 maxed in the heat of things (not even on a 5870), so SC2 are looking to be a little lighter.
I'd be curious if you forced 8xAA through nVidia's drivers if it had any effect on the framerate too! Sorry for all the quiestions, don't feel the least bit obligated to get to them, if I were you I'd just be playing and not even posting here!
I love the 3D animated models for selected units, so glad to see they kept those, they add so much polish to the feeling of the game for me.
Edit: I see you responded about the large # of units above, so if you have a chance, just curious how 8xAA treats your framerates.
