Well they have already shown alien animals, and with the game being set on different planets, moons, i'd be surprised if aliens werent in it.
Plus if you listen to the narration in the teaser trailer, it sounds like something alien related is the goal, it fact it reminded me of 2001 A Space Odyssey a bit.

No they're not. Enough Series S in stores here and I've seen plenty of of photo's in other countries with enough S stock. Xbox is not in the position to show gameplay from a game this anticipated, so late. They need all the hype and traction they can get.

The Starfield announcemeant teaser was posted 3 years ago and is sitting at 3.5 million views with the Official teaser trailer sitting at 16 million, posted 6 months ago. And that is a game also coming to PC, which has an enormous install base.

It seems to me this isn't the time to dripfeed your player base with mainly concept art when a game is in development that long. You should get players excited to the max. Especially with Sony releasing a couple of big hitters this year and having Spider-Man 2 for next year.

Again this has to be said, Todd has said numerous times, including in the round table interview with Phil when they bought Bethesda (if you want to check Youtube) that this is how he likes to show off his games, the E3 before launch. He has numerous reason for that, one being that he doesnt like seeing the same games shown off 3 or 4 E3's in a row.

Plus there will still be like 6 months after this years E3, which is more than enough time to build hype, especially if the game shows off great at E3.

Todd Howard doesn't show his games until the E3 before release. It's how they did Skyrim and FO4.

Also folks, do not doubt the size of this game. Todd Howard is confidently saying it's far larger than Skyrim and Fallout 76 apparently. Seems unthinkable, I know, but I really do believe we are looking at a far more ambitious and more massive game than we are all expecting. Todd Howard has described it as Skyrim in space verbatim, and he has gone on record about the raw size of the game.

I suspect they're taking aspects of this game a lot further than many of us are thinking. I know it's really cliche to say this, but this really and truly could end up being their biggest and most ambitious game ever.

Probably no aliens. Maybe at the end of the game but Godd implied that this is a story about humanity answering the important question or something. So it won't have Mass Effect aliens and at best maybe something that implies that there are might be intelligent ones.
Monster-like aliens we have already seen in the art.

With mods though I won't be surprised that people might be able to create their own planets with aliens Racemenu and so on.

The world itself is kinda big but not enormously big. I think it is smaller or comparable to some Ubisoft games. And how many hours it depends on the player. People spend hundreds of hours in Skyrim and still play it after all these years. I personally did not even finish the campaign but spent months in-game at launch. TES games have always been about the journey rather than the end.
I seriously believe that if there was a mod with aging, where MC can grow old and die - a lot of people would not be able to complete the campaign lol

It depends on play style obviously, and how much of the side content you do, but if you are talking 100% the game, or at least doing most of the content, you are talking 80 hours to well over 100 hours.
In fact if you include the dlc's, i doubt you could 100% the game in less than 100 hours, not unless you like skip through all the dialogue etc

The bugs weren't even the worst part at launch, it was the "No NPCs!" game design that made the game feel completely dead and boring. But you don't see people talking about that because they didn't actually play it and suffer through it.

They missed out the memo of mmo. Mmo must have npc. And bethesda completely ignored that.

Wish they followed post eso launch model. They wouldn't have gotten that much backlash.

Worst is, the 100$ subscription for the broken game. These practices damaged their reputation.

CP looked and ran better on PC but it still had the same buggy code on launch and had all of the same core issues. Everyone who gave thier opinion on CP who played it on PC still said it was a buggy mess of a game on launch.

No, it doesn't have "all of the same core issues." It was way more stable, way less buggy, to the point where I never experienced a single crash or game breaking bug in my 70 hours of playing (just some occasional glitchiness, but not even as bad as Witcher 3 at launch).

Whether or not the game was what you thought it would be is kind of another matter. It wasn't GTA, and the GTA-like elements (AI related to driving and cops) were incredibly underbaked), but for those of us that just wanted an open world, lore rich Deus Ex-ish game were pretty happy with it.

I dont really get what you mean, microsoft dont 'need' anything, they seem to be doing fine right now. And Phil has also said numerous times that they will be pretty hands off with Bethesda, and let them run the studio as they want (within reason obviously).

That has nothing to do with bethesda. Sony is targeting their console holder. And even that, they cant hit 30m for their games. Last Spiderman game, hit 20m. That way smaller than skyrim, considering Spiderman is much bigger force than skyrim.

I agree with all of this even though I was very disappointed by how the world simulation was very amateurishly done. Played the PC version for more than 100 hours and was only met with two side-mission bugs (and a few glitches, some a bit annoying but not game breaking) which was later patched.

Regarding Bethesda Game Studios it's mostly the same as CDPR (aside of F76), I haven't had an outlier experience with stability and bugs in their games outside of the norm for complex open world games. Hence why they as a developer in the forefront of developing these types of games they naturally tend to get more flak as well.

Dude are you purposefully misremembering Bethesda titles or something? Witcher 3 had issues for sure but they had nothing on the likes of New Vegas or Skyrim.

The Witcher 3 didn't get any of these, the closest it got where some community made visual bug fixes.

I am sorry this Is just unfair and outright revisionist history. Bethesda games have a reputation for a reason. The community has to step in to resolve thousands of left over issues when Bethesda are "done" with the title.

Vegas isnt from bethesda.
Skyrim and other bethesda games were from objects. Not quest breaker like the witcher 3.

The game was on ps3/x360. Those 2 didnt have mods to fix them. That is how tame the bugs were.

I don't particularly care about Bethesda RPG's tbh, if that's what you are implying. And if I did and SF convinces me, I just get an Xbox. I don't see why I should be butt hurt? Can you explain? I have played the first hour or so of FO4 and a few hours Skyrim VR on PS4, but that's about it. Apart from that, I also can't be that hyped about a new IP that has no gameplay. Whether it's a PS, Xbox or Nintendo game. For example: I love Insomniac and love the Spider-Man games. Because of that I am pretty hyped about Spidey 2. But I can't be hyped about Wolverine just yet. I love the character and the studio, so my expectations for the final product are high, but I have no idea how it looks and plays. I really need to see more before getting stoked.

I mean that times have changed. Bethesda got purchased by MS. Anything they did in the past, will not automatically be something they will keep doing in the future. Social media is many times bigger nowadays. People have access to the latest information everywhere they go and don't particularly rely on E3 anymore (which is also declining fast).

Pretty sure that TrueView Ads get included in views if you hit a certain completion rate.

Not all ads count towards a view, but many do: Promoted Videos, skippable TrueView ads, homepage ads or search ads that drive traffic to the video page. When it comes to paid advertising, view count of a video increases only when it's clear that a viewer has made a choice to watch a video.

Perfect Example was Fallout 4 and 76, both shown and released within months. I see Starfield being the same, I cannot wait.

Fair enough, No Way Home was in that year. Apart from that the name of the trailer states "Marvel's Spider-Man 2 - PlayStation Showcase 2021: Reveal Trailer | PS5". I doubt 10 million people accidentally clicked on the wrong trailer. But ignore that: my point stands: they can use all the hype possible imo. In other words: there would be way more hype and buzz if we got some good looking pristine gameplay by now, especially since it's a completely new IP. It's very hard to establish a new IP.

People want exploration game like skyrim om space, and that is what starfield is.

Exploration is what bethesda is good at. Marrowind, oblivion and skyrim.

I guess I don't value track record when it comes to games. Yes, it makes me pay attention to future games by a company, but hype is just not enough for me to trust anything. I'll be excited and impressed when I can see the game is more than concept art and a jpeg. In the last 10 years I've seen a lot of companies with 'great track records' fail catastrophically and fall victim to terrible management decisions.

And no I'm not a hater. I loved Morrowind, Skyrim, Oblivion, and even Fallout 4 a lot. If Starfield is a great rpg, I'm no threat to anyone.

There's barely any interaction with the world in recent Ubi games though, barely any AI scripting or NPC behavior. Just spend 5 mins in a village in AC Odyssey or Valhalla and you'll see even Oblivion has a more believable and living open world than Ubi games (NPCs following a schedule, reacting to you, etc.).

Well oblivion has a more alive open world than any non Bethesda game, so this is pretty meaninglessness. AC never claims to be that sort of game.

How big is Skyrim — in terms of world and overall gameplay (hrs)? I will check it later today but hope it's on Game Pass so I will give it a go.
My friend showed it to me once, saying how you can switch between first person and third person view but I still avoided it because I thought it was designed with FPS in mind and I did not touch FPS games back then.

Funny enough, nothing has made me appreciate Bethesda's games more than Cyberpunk 2077. I played Oblivion, loved it, played Skyrim and loved that, too. I never got into Fallout because I assumed it was just a clunky looking shooter. Had no idea it was truly an RPG. I didn't take the time to learn about the game. If not for the Fallout 4 Xbox One X update, I would have never given the Fallout franchise a try, and I'm happy I did.

I found the animations and combat of Bethesda games impossible to truly appreciate, but what I realized was that, though it would be so much nicer if it animated way better and looked cooler, I was thinking about things entirely the wrong way. Games often require you to suspend disbelief, and to allow a game to "play like a game," and when you understand that, you come to appreciate a lot more of what's going on around the game. You take note of all the various systems that are actively working in the game at any given moment, and collectively it's all pretty fucking impressive and fun.

For me, at the time, being first person was enough to ignore a game completely. Resistance changed that for me. Now Destiny 2 is the game I find myself playing daily lol.

I guess I do prefer 3rd person over first but a game being first person is not a turn off anymore. As for suspension of belief, that's not really a big problem for me (usually), specially if the game is engaging enough — last generation, that game ended up being Breath of the Wild. Nintendo nailed it.

I guess I don't value track record when it comes to games. Yes, it makes me pay attention to future games by a company, but hype is just not enough for me to trust anything. I'll be excited and impressed when I can see the game is more than concept art and a jpeg. In the last 10 years I've seen a lot of companies with 'great track records' fail catastrophically and fall victim to terrible management decisions.

And no I'm not a hater. I loved Morrowind, Skyrim, Oblivion, and even Fallout 4 a lot. If Starfield is a great rpg, I'm no threat to anyone.

Exactly. Studio makes games people absolutely love, and are among the best universe and world builders out there. So when they say they're building a brand new epic singleplayer RPG in a sci-fi universe, one they've been thinking about for 25 years, something that was second on their list of things they most were excited to make following the Fallout franchise, that's all the reason in the world to be hyped and excited. We don't need to see gameplay to be excited for it. Did we all need to see Avengers: Infinity War before it dropped to be excited about that? Should the game be revealed, and it turns out to be absolute trash, then obviously our excitement and hype was misplaced, but we all lose nothing in being excited. I didn't need to a see a lick of gameplay back when Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey were announced by Hironobu Sakaguchi. I just know I love the man's work, I like the way he designs games, and the games he has made are among my favorite all-time.

So, yea, it's okay to be very excited about Starfield. I'm dying to get more information, and to see the first gameplay for this game.

Those really were not that buggy for me. In fact, I thought Fallout 4 was decently polished. I could count the number of bugs on my two hands when that game came out.

If someone willingly inserts himself and says "I am calling out fanboys" then he better not complain about being called out.

Don't feed him. He jumped in to defend the person whose post, was doing exactly what he claims not to be doing (referring to jank/glitches). And I am also not taking the bait he has been trying to set up (now he just seems desperate) but the point of my post wasn't to tag anyone as a fanboy; I was just pointing out to someone else to ignore Concern (since his post was just fanboy bait, what he jumped in defense of); Concern was saying something about something that didn't really happen in this thread (he got triggered by the first post for some reason lol); that post of his is now gone so all is well and we should end this discussion right here instead of continuing...there is no point.

No, it doesn't have "all of the same core issues." It was way more stable, way less buggy, to the point where I never experienced a single crash or game breaking bug in my 70 hours of playing (just some occasional glitchiness, but not even as bad as Witcher 3 at launch).

Whether or not the game was what you thought it would be is kind of another matter. It wasn't GTA, and the GTA-like elements (AI related to driving and cops) were incredibly underbaked), but for those of us that just wanted an open world, lore rich Deus Ex-ish game were pretty happy with it.

Being "better than the last-gen consoles" is not high praise. It's nice that you experienced little problems but that wasn't the case for many gamers, even on PC.

Also, I felt this game failed as an interesting open-world game but MOST IMPORTANTLY, as an RPG. I never said I expected a cyberpunk GTA. I think Cyberpunk fully polished is a slightly above-average game. That's my opinion.

Same, I played every major Bethesda Elder Scrolls title since Oblivion at launch, and didn't encounter many, if any, issues with bugs at all. I didn't play any of the Fallouts at launch. As I mentioned before, didn't become a fan of the series till the Xbox One X upgrade of Fallout 4.
