Would be cool to buy, but not rewarding fans who bought all of the DLC seems kinda disappointing.
Guess waiting for a sale or not buying at all are the best options. (PC)
That was my first taste of ACG, and that was pretty damn good. Summed up my feelings of the original version completely.Got the day one edition and I'm looking forward to start all over again tonight at midnight.
Honestly to me, SOD is such an enjoyable experience. Yes, its sad some ugly bugs remain but the Fun Factor and amount of content is crazy good and the replay-ability is endless.

Well, the lighting's pretty good.It has improved imo, although I pasted that info from their announcement things and edited it from "silky smooth frame-rate" down to "improved" I didnt think it was that bad/terrible, its just not perfect in some areas, gets worse sometimes more than others

So is the PC version as buggy as the Xbox one version?

I must say it's quite enjoyable, you can see they have improved it slightly with better draw distance, textures, more fauna and better resolution, but it does have problems. The audio sync when characters talk is non-existent and zombies seem to get stuck in walls. The clipping is noticeable but it hasn't spoiled the game for me, it sort of disappears from your thoughts after a bit.
Frame rate though is really weird, in vehicles it is very choppy, especially at high speeds, but when you're just running around on foot it's largely fine.
I hope Undead Labs are making a sequel, it has so much potential to be more but what it does have is seriously quite big.
Yeah, it's deep rooted bugs that pop up regardless of platform. I haven't ran across any game breaking bugs in my play through on 360 and PC. The gameplay definitely overshadows the "jank" as some say.
They are suppose to be doing a mmo. Haven't heard much since SOD release though but we may see something of it eventually. I'm hoping e3.
"How awesome is State of Decay? So freakin' awesome."
Agreed. It's just a shame that the Xbox One version is absolutely riddled with bugs.
The game is fantastically designed, but I've lost HOURS of character progress multiple times due to random bugs. Characters refusing to take medication or get out of a car that's about to explode? AI teammates blocking escape routes and not helping when you're getting overwhelmed by zombies? Zombies killing you through walls? Clipping through the floor and falling out of the game world to your death because you had the audacity to walk down a street? So freakin' awesome. Especially when you're in your fifth hour of play with a character.
Plus it's lovely when you drive into the town of Marshall in the main game and it drops from its already choppy framerate to about 15FPS. Then there's pop-up (no exaggeration) about three feet in front of you, and the times when the game refuses to load and sticks on the loading screen. Or times when an AI character you're escorting can't find his way through a door, meaning you have to fail the mission. Or the time when a character you've decided to take with you on a mission just disappears halfway through a battle and then turns up later at the base. That last one has happened at least 70% of the time I've taken a secondary character with me on anything other than a "Morale Mission." How about being able to clip through fences just by attacking a zombie that's on the other side of one? Awesomely useful, until you do it by mistake and a Juggernaut spots you and kills you.
Leaderboards are screwed, too. I had 90,000 kills apparently logged within a couple of hours, despite the achievement for killing 500 only popping the next day. Noticed Steverulez up toward the top of the pile. What have you got there? 150k kills now?
Plus a 3.9GB patch last Wednesday, followed by a 3.7GB patch on Saturday - neither of which seem to actually do very much. Not sure what size the final Day One patch will be. I assume it'll just be the 3.7GB one.
Opinions are opinions of course, but I genuinely don't see how it's picking up 8.9s and 9s in places. For once, the Gamespot review is easily closest. Even OXM only gave it a 6.
Such a shame. I was addicted despite the bugs, but it didn't last long.
did they fix the hilariously anti-climatic ending
I wish the Xbox One version was 60fps.
Opinions differ, but I would trade 900p-upscaled & 60fps over native-1080p & 30fps.
No, to regenerate health/stamina levels you need to switch characters, use consumables or radio (call pastor/doctor).I am new to the game. Can you sleep to regenerate health?

Never beat it on 360 whats the anti-climatic ending
W.O.W.
NO BUY for now then.we'll see if and how that'll change down the road. Thanks for posting this mate, you saved me 30, I would've been livid, giving money for broken games is a big no no.
I doubt they'd be able to lock at 60fps even if they dropped the resolution down to 720p.
Engine isn't built for it. Karak made an interesting point about why that might be, but I can't seem to find the post.

I have a couple buddies interested in the game, but I've been having a hard time describing the game to them.
I am, however, going to stream it to them while they party chat me after work tonight.
dat new gen smell.
Can someone actually describe how it's different than other zombie games?
The best I could give them was that it ultimately becomes a management game on a rather large scale. You, as the player, get to play camp leader. Order people around to gather various supplies to handle the amount of randomized craziness the game throws at you. While you also get to swap between actually playing as some of the survivors and doing a lot of the gritty work yourself.
