If only we hadn't lost so much precious development time languishing into GaaS they'd prolly have more to show by now this far into the generation. What a shame. Truly. That's fair. I don't think this year is going to be it unless they decide to start showing things farther than a year out.
I didn't see the thread about B4 getting pushed forward. What does Marathon have to do with it? They're completely different games. Also it was just announced it's being pushed up two weeks. It's not 9/12, not 9/25. It's a chess move to get out of the way of GTA, surely, not Marathon, if anything.
Yeah like I said, they've done it before for major tentpole releases like this. Don't really know what else there is to say. I'm not the one hosting it, I'm just pointing out the information. BL is a huge IP. Each installment is a ~20+ million seller.a whole 20 minutes state of play.....just for a stagnant IP?

They did one for Hogwarts and several others in the past.weird for a third party game isnt it?
Technically, they showed third-party games in their previous State of Play. But if you mean a State of Play for only a single third-party game, then yes.weird for a third party game isnt it?
Borderlands is massive. Really simple to see whyA SoP for this?

(Borderlands 4 Only)
I think this game is gona flop hard. Just not a lot of love for this IP nowadays
Massive, yet 2K couldn't have its own stream?Borderlands is massive. Really simple to see why
I'm looking forward to what they show
I don't think it's gonna flop, but i'll probably pass. Didn't really like part 3.I think this game is gona flop hard. Just not a lot of love for this IP nowadays
weird for a third party game isnt it?
Nope. It's actually not weird at all. In the PS5 generation they've done it several times. Showcasing a specific major third-party game in a SoP format for just that game. Hogwarts Legacy, Suicide Squad, etc. Usually in April, too. Neither weird nor unusual.Technically, they showed third-party games in their previous State of Play. But if you mean a State of Play for only a single third-party game, then yes.
For sure. T2 owns BL and GTA, right? I'm sure the change was to accommodate space for both games to be able to breathe. An earlier release date huh? From the 29th to the 11th... GTA 6 is coming
FtfyConsole timed exclusive?
No, we must all suffer.console exclusive?
Because YOU said so? Borderlands 3 sold over 20 million copies. Don't like it, don't tune in.This is a franchise that might as well not exist anymore.
A dedicated 20 minute State of Play for Borderlands 4, a game that comes out on the same day as Marathon.
Sooo… What was your original point, exactly? You were hoping that this wouldn't count as Sony's summer showcase, which didn't make sense. This SoP wouldn't be Sony's summer event, because May doesn't start the summer season. I don't think… Any publisher has referred to their June events as, "summer" if they're scheduled before the 20th.…Neither is all of May or the first 2/3 of June.

Actual jumpscare
So, while sales don't always indicate quality they give a pretty good idea of sentiment regarding a title and the fact is that Borderlands 3 was a overwhelmingly massive success and a beloved entry into a beloved series (despite what the neckbeards at this site will tell you). Also, to the people who think people hate Borderlands now just because of a lame movie , that is ridiculous and void of any measurable data to back that opinion up. Why are you even participating in a chat for a game you don't care about? So what? I don't play "sales".
Let's deduce this with logic and reason.
They have a bunch of games coming this year that already have release dates. There will be other partnered games as well, I am sure. Thus, their marketing will put together a showcase with all of that.
This is just silly and unrealistic to even entertain Borderlands 4 is their only "summer showcase."
I know we are jaded bunch, but this licking of walls levels.
