Which person is Olivier? Because every time y'all mention the name I just think of

Olivier Mira Armstrong from Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.
Uhm
Take undertale as your example. It was a mere $2 off and it sold a ton.

So yeah, devaluing your game gets you the least amount of sales in the end.
Especially when you can price your game at $40 or $50 and people will probably buy it- the major roadblock is people not finishing FC, not that no one wants SC at $30.

Well, keep in mind that, right now, Undertale has a level of hype around it that TitS will likely never reach. So it has no trouble grabbing interest with even a modest sale, where other titles will use the sales to capture just a fraction of attention for themselves.

To be fair, Trails in the Sky SC isn't being held back on sales because of price at all. Find me a few people who beat FC and aren't buying SC because it's $30-- no one I know personally is that way.

The issue is that while FC has so many owners, so many of them didn't get to the reason everyone loves FC, and as such, will never buy SC at a full price. Literally at $5 it's just the +1 crew who "may eventually play it"

I'm playing through Cave Story+ right now. It's quite challenging and really good.

(edit) My only minor grip so far is that the save points are sometimes a bit too far apart.

i like to use them as a sort of journal as i play the game

i finish up a session and upload all my screenshot and add some commentary to them

i like doing that, idk

This actually sounds kind of awesome to me. I really need to start doing this.

The ranger tends to be in the most danger, so...

Specialists die first, Rangers die after, which lets Grenadiers live another day. Meanwhile, Sharpshooters multiply like chrysallids.

This is the order of things in LurkerPrime's XCOM 2.

That goes back to the hype angle though. If people were excited about TitS they'd have completed FC and be onboard for SC. (Or at least I'm in that boat; I'm interested in it, but not excited about it. So FC and SC are still on my wishlist, rotting.)

They used the original image.

Still, he was mentioned in the site and their twitter often with stuff like
well someone in the original marketing for the game fucked up real bad then

Woo hoo!

After 4 years, I've finally become employed full time again :D

I'm thinking of celebrating with a giveaway.. anything under $10 that's popular at the moment or should I just do a $10 giveaway?

If you want to be popular, you could do a giveaway of this:

I'm always a fan of being the sniper elite...

majora's mask is my personal favorite

the time schedule stuff was mindblowing back then and it's still smart as hell today, and i liked the generally darker atmosphere of the game, and the mask hunting and turning into one of those plant dudes and stuff

but all the others i've played are really good too, i must've beaten ocarina like 5 times and i've played a lot of a link to the past and that original gameboy one a whole bunch too

i actually never played wind waker

but it's cute so i like eet

--

if you're not gonna give me unlimited storage (or even a reasonable amount for 2016) at least not make the interface for managing screenshots so awful

but like i said before, your screenshot limit should scale with your level just like your friendslist

Meant to reply to this earlier but I was on mobile, so it wasn't quite practical to do so.

Majora's Mask is great... it's absolutely mind blowing the stuff they accomplished with that game. However, it's uniqueness as a LoZ game makes it hard to actually compare it with the rest of the series (2D or 3D). However, it's definitely near the top for me just because it *is* different and it's so well done.

My favorite is still probably OoT, probably because I hadn't even been following it's development or release and just picked it up while on break from college when it released and got sucked into it. Maybe I didn't think a 3D zelda would work back then (sort of the same kind of thing where people were skeptical about Metroid changing drastically when they created the Prime series)... but being sucked into and floored by that game was such a pleasant surprise.

One of these days, I probably should decide to endure the terrible hardware and replay both OoT and MM on my 3DS.

--

The journal idea is cool... I get it, I was doing it with some of the MKX ending screens for finishing arcade mode; I also do it for games that have really cool concept artwork as unlockables and stuff now.

However, it was your journaling with TW3 screenshots that started my quest to have screenshots turned off for my activity feed. You never know what some people may consider to be spoilers and all that. Oh well, I'm slowly trying to forget and by the time that CDPR finally discounts the expansion pass and I play TW3, hopefully all will be well. :p

Wind Waker is one of those games that I am extremely vocal with my dislike for it because it was such a disappointing experience for me. I had no problems with the change in artstyle. I even was willing to give the ocean-covered overworld a chance. But what I ended up getting was something that felt cut short (because it was cut short, I believe) with a total of 5 dungeons or so (2 really excellent ones that left me wanting and expecting more based on the rest of the LoZ franchise in recent years) and an extremely empty overworld covered in silly islands that really weren't interesting for the most part in terms of exploring and a warp/travel system that was just a blend of annoying and boring. The game had such great potential and it was just kind of squandered at the end of the day because the team was rushed to release the game, I believe.

Yeah, that could be a good way to enhance the Steam profile level system. In addition to more friends, giving people a little more storage when they hit certain levels would certainly promote badge creation and give people who did want additional storage a way to get it at the very least.

It's a solid idea... so it will probably never happen. :D

If you want to be popular, you could do a giveaway of this:

I would enter and hope to win, after the comparisons to Earthbound.

Throw in an extra 10 and do disgaea pc :)

DMX needs to have a word with you... stop being greedy. :p

Fire sale for a a fight stick, awesome! :D

If they did a clearance to help offset any bankruptcy issues, I would consider getting a PS4 SFV stick to use with PS4/PC.

Bought an xbone controller and straight out the box the left bumper doesn't work properly. Doesn't make any clicking noise when pressed, just sort of sponges in.

Just tried it on SC Blacklist and it kept spamming gadgets at everyone as the bumper was sticking

Shit

Not sure why, but lately I keep wondering when You Need a Budget will go on sale (again) for a decent discount... I'm not sure why, but I kinda want to make a budget. :3

i think the biggest blow to tits 2 sales is not having olivier on that banner

i mean when you leave the single best thing of your game out of your big marketing graphic you're kind of setting yourself up for desaster

Olivier is really the best thing about the game. Thank God he shows up in the following games too.

They should totally do the Vita Evo version and sell tons then. :V

idk, i never really post spoilers but idk, ppl are too touchy about that crap for my taste

yeah idk, i never had a gamecube so i just like how it looks

it just makes sense for me cos i have 500 games and it would just make sense that the room i have for pictures scales with how many games i got

:)

I knew I could count on you.

Honest to God, I was out with my friends the other night, and one of them (who I have as a friend on Steam) asked me about the game, so I told everyone about the insanity of Melinda Megamelons and the nightcrawling/torture games. They thought it was hilarious.

I hope you also told them about the amount of customization options, story branches and nice gameplay :)

I wouldn't want WotS 4 to be remembered for its quirkiest aspects.

Let me tell you a little story (about the first major mission in xcom2)...

I decided to do both the mindjack and blacksite missions together. Rookie Semyenova there didn't know it, but she was being set up to die. Well she was having nothing of it.

The team dropped in and acted like a well oiled machine, scanning for enemies to avoid surprises, watching corners and setting up ambushes. After dispatching a small team they found a captain with 2 grunts overwatched by a turret. They blew the turret up, took out the weaklings and then Semyenova cornered the Captain and jammed a mindjack into its skull. With a sniper up high, and everyone else in cover, the codex was dead almost immediately.

That's when things changed. This is where we learn that Codexes blow up when they die. Well, Corporal Kelly, the very first soldier on the team, the one you get in the very first tutorial mission - she goes flying through the air. Everyone looks at each other stunned, not even realizing what the hell just happened. The commander is just staring at the screen, finger over the esc key. But, no, we had to keep going.

The squad moves on, finding their target and deftly taking out 2 mechs, a viper and a bunch of grunts. Everything is going perfectly. They've got their loot and are heading for the evac. But wait, there's still more coming! Everyone tries to get back into a good position and fend off the opposition. Barnes is taking guys out with his pistol while retreating. Robertson is knocked out and Edwards tosses her on his back and hauls ass to the evac zone. Semyenova, a rookie(!), is tearing things apart and winds up with 7 kills. Everyone is getting out of here!

But wait, no sooner have the last group of enemies been put in the ground when another dropship comes in right on top of the evac zone. Soldiers start roping out, but Barnes can't reach the zone in one turn so he hunkers down by a rock one square away, hoping to just make it one turn. In that turn, a stun soldier climbs up and bashes his head in.

This game, man.

i think i'm gonna fire kelly

it feels kinda lame to have the same character as everyone else

also man you took a lot of time to get to that blacksite mission? or is the 5 man upgrade not a lategame thing?

like i've beaten that mission already (also went back home with 1 kia and 3 gravely injured) and i only have 4 dudes :T
