I want a Transport Tycoon / Locomotion style game, Cities in Motion yay or nay? Or should I just stay with Open TTP?
This is not it. Cities in Motion is a game you play when you want a Traffic Giant style game.

I have a question about the Magic 2012 expansions. I don't have this game, but was kinda confused by the new DLC today. So are the deck unlocks a faster way of getting the in-game content, kinda like buying stuff in TF2 instead of getting it via gameplay? Also what is foil conversion?

That is pretty much it.

The foil conversion just changes the way the cards look, it gives them an approximation of what the cards look like in foil IRL. Waste of money.

I was way overlevelled in CSTW, I beat the end boss in 2 turns =p

The game rullz. When the charm hits you, you will be thanking us.
I'll hold you to that.

In other news: I finished Eschalon: Book I over the weekend. This game is utterly fantastic for mid-90s rpg fans. I sunk a total of 25 hours into the game and didn't want it to end. Luckily I have Book II queued up and ready to go.

OH god, I hope it has a usable gui.

I would sure love that! Some guy was doing a mouse mod for the game, but I guess the hardcore enthusiastic keyboard lovers didn't care enough for his project, he has yet to update in like a year.

But this won't happen :<

Hey, so earlier this year someone posted a Steam library manager for transferring games to external drives and back (not Steam Tool)
Anyone remember what it was called?

Maybe? I'm going to try out all the ones people suggest and see which I like best.

EDIT: That one doesn't work with FAT32 though, and I can't reformat my backup drive since...well...its my backup drive.

http://www.stefanjones.ca/steam/

How about that one?

Wait, also seeing ntfs required

Edit: Windows XP and 2003 are incompatible with SteamTool because of incomplete support for junctions in Windows Explorer. If you're using Windows XP or 2003, you might try the Link Shell Extension instead. Link

If you want to do it the old hardcore way :p

Okay, it seems like it (Steam Mover) requires that Steam itself be installed on NTFS (which I have) but not the storage drive its backing up to.

Also the frequency with which I transfer large games back and forth has convinced me to buy a second 1TB external to function as a "safe storage" that almost never gets written to, just in case I kill my current drive.

Same setup here, although I just do steambackups and throw them on my external. 1tb just for you steam!

Anyway only two links I found, hope one of them helps (helped).
Bed time for me, work in 6 :>

Ooh, bought! Never bought anything from Impulse though.

Edit: Ugh, gotta install their client? Just want the key dammit.

I know. I feel dirty installing a GS product on my machine.

Anyway, nice catch. I purchased it and linked it to Steam.

I'm not having the best luck with the Tobe demo. The game is locked at 720 or something, and the control setup sucks.

So I'm pretty much enjoying Darksiders, it's pretty fun with the 360 controller. One thing though ... is combat supposed to be fuck hard at times? The dungeons are fun and I like the Zelda feel of that part of the game but I've never really played God of War or the like (in that vein of games I only ever played DMC4) so I am so green to the combat. Sometimes they throw at me like 8+ enemies, which I can do since I bought alot of the group attacks but then when you throw some of the other demons at me that have unblockable attacks or can chain you I'm lucky to get out of combat with one bar of life left not in the red. I can usually see some of the unblockable attacks being telegraphed and can counter them but then other times they just come at me from behind and take away a whole life core.

I just finished the subway dungeon but by god, the leadup to it with the angels attacking you was getting me in a controller throwing mood because their shots were all pretty dangerous even though reading FAQs seem to say those enemies are not a big issue.

Dodge. Use dashes. Airdashes and shit.

Edit: Also, with the angels, keep something between you and them, their shots can be pretty devastating otherwise. When they're close, they shouldn't be an issue.

Looks like xbla really aint worth bothering with for indies then.

CSTW is a really neat game, so it's not like they are a mediocre indy dev.
I think a lot of people forget XBLIG isn't world wide, while steam is. It's hardly comparable. We don't even have XBLIG in the Netherlands.

CSTW is awesome

Someone in the first town talked about a great warrior wearing so many belts they make him stronger, and it got a strong chuckle out of me.

I like a game that knows it's a cheap indie game and runs with it.

Those playtimes are according to Steam which has been been fairly off lately, they very well could have taken longer.

I think that the primary complaints against XBLIG are completely valid and have nothing to do with it not being world-wide. It is a mess of a marketplace and most Xbox users write it off as full of junk.

edit: if they even know it is there at all.

Get a 2TB instead, it's cheap enough for them

Best prices for drives: http://forre.st/storage#hdd

a 1.5TB for $60 or a 2TB for $80 (relatively the same GB per $)

So I finally got my computer back up and running today after 3 weeks of playing nothing, and it was right in the middle of the summer sale :(

Feels like a good time to start up bloodlines right guys? :)

Try the demo first :p It looks cute but doesn't seem very fun to play, at least as a first impression.

Also: If you're using a 360 pad, by default they've swapped the standard confirm/cancel buttons function as well as the colours in the GUI, so wherever you see a green button marked 'J' hit the red B on your controller. I'm only mentioning this because it annoyed me right off the bat before I even played the game. Also by default run is B and "action" is down on the stick/d-pad.

Yeah I only played until pretty much right after the tutorial ended and I kinda like it so far. Clunky but it's an older wrpg so I expected as much.

So War Inc. Battlezone is the latest Free to Play game on Steam. Is it good? Does anyone play? Is it not worth it if your from Australia/NZ due to lag?

I watched the store trailers for the Cthulhu JRPG and the other game, and the music seemed nice, so I bought the pack. The price was cheap. I hope you're all happy!

Wow, what's with the lack of actual gameplay screenshots and video on the steam store? I know the video says it's from in-engine, but that's just not the same.

It feels pretty janky, screenshots on the store definitely don't reflect how it looks ingame. Racking my brain, I couldn't really think of too many other free to play third person shooters though, that and it's only about a 1gb download.
