It isn't and it does absolutely nothing. It was for achievements on the 360.
Okay, I stopped doing them then. Also Templars are buuuullllshit.

I go to attack and they block and parry my swords right away and killed me in like 4 seconds.

Also if they don't do anything (the flags and such) why is there a bonus memories thing at the end of the Animus list containing those things, what does it do?

Those help you keep track of how many you have found, like a completion list. Like I said, they were for achievements and completing them gives you absolutely nothing on PC.

Looks like a Nexon game is going to be added to Steam, any one want to take bets of which one it will be?

Also, a newer Dota 2 Beta Entry (Though its like a week old now), any idea what "VMC" could stand for? There is a video game QA company by that name, but that may just be coincidental.

Vindictus seeing as its a Source engine game and it has valve cross promotion stuff. Would be surprised if its something different.

I think I want grid, can anyone tell me if it will be on sale still come friday morning?

Sale ends thursday.

I played it back in my Xbox days, and I liked it. It hit the right spot between sim and arcade. If anything, it's worth the price of admission for the destruction derby mode, it's pretty fucking great man.

But but but that game is locked in several areas, Latin America is one of them: (

The play time for almost all of my games is way off. Very few are accurate.

Yah, I always knew they were off for really old games that I played right when they started tracking time, but recently I've been noticing even recent games can have pretty inaccurate timings so I've pretty much realized the numbers are meaningless. I started using Raptr and it seems to work better, although it does concern me that it reads times off of Steam.

Awesome so having uninstalled Eve Online on steam, it quietly decides to download the fucking demo anyway, STILL not showing anything on the downloads page except for a steadily increasing download amount.

manually deleting folders and restarting steam AGAIN seems to have fixed it by now.

Thanks steam you've wasted over half a gig of my bandwidth now. *rage

if this starts again I'm getting a fucking refund on that come hell or highwater

Bought dwarfs after watching the totalbiscuit youtube video of it, played the tutorial and two 15 minute games, and it's actually really great, especially for 2.50.

gameplay tracking has been a bitch to me, and i love that feature, but what are you gonna do

i mean its still a nice feature to have, even if some gameplay times screw up. There's been more cases of games tracking the right way though.

Duke Nukem Forever gameplay time went from 14hs to 2hs
Some Sam and Max eps went down to like 0.5 hours
Burnout Paradise the ultimate box went from something like 25hs to 0 (worst offender)

hope they get better support for this in the future

Stuff not appearing on the download page is one of my more aggravating bugs. I've not been able to pause downloads before too.

I've had Raptr times disappear too. Mostly for GFWL games, but some others too.

I've played none of these, so it might be an obsolete question.
Does any of them use a launcher? Or did you start a new save? New profile? (If Burnout Paradise is GFWL?) I doubt any of them will be yes, but there has to be some explanation for it, rather than just.. "oh, time reset".

nope

only games with no gameplay tracking because of launchers i have are Rainbow Six Vegas and Prince of Persia 2008

gameplay gets tracked fine, but after a while the number just goes down

You know how it registers your total time and your weekly time? well with DNF i had 2 hours of week time and 14 hours of total, after 2 weeks went by the numbers kinda swapped, and my 2 week hours became my total hours.

And my first time needing Steam customer support has left me angry and annoyed with them. I am locked out of my account since Steam wants to think my account no longer exists yet will gladly send me my info when I request it. Been this way all day and have not heard a word from them despite sending in a ticket early this morning.

So yeah...for today Fuck Steam and their total lack of a way to talk to a goddamn person I can find on their site.

I´m locked out from my account since sunday because of this "account doesn´t exist" bug :( .

But I just received a reply on my ticket a few minutes ago. Will try when i get home, but here´s what i got if you´r willing to try:

A staff member has replied to your question:

Hello, Thank you for contacting Steam Support. I have reset your account password and sent the new login information in a separate e-mail. Please login to the account using the new password. (Note: The new password consists of all numbers) However, we suggest you manually update your Steam client to the most recent release version. Please exit Steam and go to the folder called C:\Program Files\Steam\ (this is the default location for a Steam installation - if you set a different installation directory, you will need to browse to it). Delete all of the files in this folder except: The Steamapps folder and Steam.exe (If 'exe' is not visible, look for the black and white Steam icon) Restart your computer. Then, you will need to launch Steam.exe from within the Steam installation folder, and not from a pre-existing shortcut. With Steam running, re-test the original issue. Note: This process will not affect your currently installed games. Once logged in, please change your password, your secret question, and validate your email address. This will ensure that you will be able to use the Steam account recovery tool in the future to save time if you need to reset your password. This process is outlined here: Title: Resetting an Account Password and Secret Question Link: http://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=7058-AFZC-7069 Your new Secret Question will be set to "What did customer service reset your password to?" The answer to the Secret Question is the new password that we have sent to you as mentioned above. If you do not receive the e-mail and you are running a Spam filter, check and make sure the e-mail is not being filtered as spam.

Alpha Protocol is $4.99 US on Gamersgate today, so all those who missed out on the Steam sale due to region issues can get it there.

I'd say that's really weird, I haven't had that myself with my games... I've had the opposite, cause some games have logged twice as much time. I reckon you haven't taken it with support? I mean, it's a small thing, but hopefully they should have the true stats at hand and could revert to the higher(most likely correct) number at request. Might be a silly thing to request, but if it matters to you, they should honor it.

Damn. The other problem with raptr is it doesn't let you add games with .exe different than what it looks for. Raptr won't let me add my gog version of divine divinity.

God damn, steam is honestly turning into my platform of the year!
I played the alpha some time back! Awesome game, but does tend to get a tad grindie.

None the less, this game rocks, in a way it's the closest you'll get to a Starscape-isk experience!

(God I wish moonpod would make StarScape 2)

Can it be "unlocked" in Steam?

It's steamworks, so yeah! and people said that you can get the code directly from the site, without the need to download impulse.

Still can't decide whether to get it or not.

Boss Doggie

all my loli wolf companions are so moe
Now I can't decide whether I should sink my 25 for frozen synapse or simply just a few for Magika >_<

I am going to assume that this will be the first Witcher 2 update using the new CDN. Here is to hoping that it isn't another 16 gb download.

Well, it's Frozen Synapse for sure. Don't forget, you are getting 2 copies of game for such a price.

Serious Sam is a wicked gahbidge series for chowdaheads.

I'd doubt it. The new CDN is just serving videos a the moment.

I know this might be classified as bitching, but I have to vent.
Recently, my girlfriend went to a Gamestop and picked up a copy of Supreme Commander 2 for PC. We were both really excited to try it out, but when it came time to input the CD-key into Steam, there was no key to be found. Since its a PC game, Gamestop more than likely will not give us a refund.

I am so pissed.

They don't explicitly state that only videos are using it, just that all videos currently do. It was easier to recommend downloading a video then giving a list of games supporting it currently, and opening up all the "Why isn't my favorite game supported yet" comments. I could be mistaken, but that was my interpretation. I will stubbornly remain hopeful! :)
