You should expect to wait 2-5 business days. Since its an account related issue it should be the former but yea, Valve support stinks.
If you asked me at the moment, It's worse than AT&T's customer support, and until now I thought they were the biggest cesspit of terrible customer support on the planet.

If it makes you feel any better this is a fairly widespread issue so it's not just you being ignored.

They are probably working on it. Probably.

I'd take AT&T customer service any day over Valve's for the simple fact that you can speak to an AT&T rep on the phone. You want some great customer service? Contact Blizzard. Good customer service? Contact EA. Terrible customer service? Create a ticket with Valve.

You'd have to think that they're looking into this, surely. They're pretty community-oriented, how could they let something like this slip?

It's been that way for years now. I don't think they want to invest the resources into overhauling support.

I will say they are responding quicker to tickets now than a year ago but IMO a ticket system in 2011 for the company who runs Steam is inexcusable. With more power comes more responsibility and Valve has yet to fulfill the level of responsibility expectedof them.

Can anyone else double check that their EVE: Online (Incarna) game is updating?

I paused mine due to bandwidth caps but steam reported it was still downloading the Eve Online Demo, despite the tab not showing in the games list or the downloads page.

Sure enough it downloaded over 150mb of the demo (not listed anywhere!) despite the main game being paused.

I had to delete the Incarna files just to stop steam from downloading some 7.5gb in the background.

The fuck is this shit :|

So here's a question. Today, I lost internet connection. And lo and behold, I couldn't play any of my steam games. It said my PC has no saved info on it.

IS there anything I can do now to prevent this from happening again in the future?

If the future of DD is that you're required to have constant internet connection, then that's failed.

I know you can do steam offline, but apparently, you need to log into steam ONLINE first before you can turn it into offline

Yes, if you want to have access to Steam offline then save your credentials (password/account name). Next time your internet is out you will be able to access your games offline. You will have to go back online I believe within 3 weeks to reverify your credentials.

And my first time needing Steam customer support has left me angry and annoyed with them. I am locked out of my account since Steam wants to think my account no longer exists yet will gladly send me my info when I request it. Been this way all day and have not heard a word from them despite sending in a ticket early this morning.

So yeah...for today Fuck Steam and their total lack of a way to talk to a goddamn person I can find on their site.

If it's any consolation, at least it isn't Friday?

That's how it's meant to work but it barely ever does.

Me and a friend are fairly certain the game was designed for iDevices, but both of us are to lazy to actually check.

Someone is going to have to take them to court or start lodging complaints with the ombudsman (whoever that is in the States. FTC?) before they'll do anything, it seems.

I've been fortunate enough not to have any problems yet, but I know the minute I do, I'll be lodging a complaint with these guys: http://www.econsumer.gov/english/

Locking people out of their accounts for weeks at a time due to flimsy reasoning and slooooow customer service is ridiculous.

If you're in America, lodge a complain with the FTC or whoever.

yes. it feels like a touch device game since it's a match-all style. it's very limited. feels like a straight port from somewhere and only have like steam achievements.

They won't lock your account for any reason other than a chargeback being issued or detecting the account was hacked. If someone's account is locked for other reasons they will put their ticket to the front and usually it will take a day or two for the account to be unlocked.

Is it nessessary to find all the flags in AssCreed 1 on the PC? What does it do?

No, it's tedious and doesn't give you anything ingame.

All you get is an achievement, but since you're on PC you don't get that anyway.

There's no time limits and the scoring system is screwed up, you can sit there and grind forever, never advancing to the next level, and get a billion points if you feel like wasting that much time. If you actually do your tasks though and try to chain something big together, well then you advance to the next level just as soon as you start getting a good multiplier going.

Really the only goal is to try to get the achievements, but they're all either really easy, really random, or insanely hard. Has anyone managed to get 10 Million on the first level? It seems impossible without getting insanely lucky or grinding, my best so far is 6.5 Million.

Edit: Nevermind, I figured out the trick is to make only 2-piece combos because they fill up your gauge slower, then you can get a bigger lucid bonus at the end. I got 14 Million on my first try like that.

I'm almost done with Aquaria. I actually beat it but the game even directed that I had more to find. I'll try to post detailed impressions once I'm fully finished (and I may need to cheat for the last achievement), but suffice to say, Aquaria isn't fit to swim in Super Metroid's spit.

Space Pirates and Zombies now have a store page up: http://store.steampowered.com/app/107200/

From the developer:

Hi All,

We are very happy to announce OFFICIALLY that we will be releasing SPAZ version 1.0 on Steam! It has been a long haul and literally hundreds of emails and comments asking us why we are not on Steam, but the deal is done.

This is a big deal for us because it likely means that MinMax Games will become a profitable entity, and we will be able to work on future titles and sequels and expansions to SPAZ.

We have confirmed that we will be able to move over people's keys to the Steam client upon release as well. So anyone who already has SPAZ will be able to import their key.

We have also been busily working on expanding out distribution net elsewhere. We will soon be on Green Man Gaming and will launch on Direct2Drive upon version 1.0 as well.

So we think we have our distribution bases covered now with Steam, Direct2Drive, Impulse, GamersGate, Desura, GreenManGaming, and BMT Mirco. Phew. Luckily now that we have our foot in the door, next time should be easier.

Patch wise, Specialists are coming along well and should add a big boost for those of you who have already completed SPAZ. We hope to be version 1.0 by mid August. Once August 1st hits, our focus will be on implementing Steam Achievements and Stat tracking, but up until then we plan on adding Difficulty levels, spicing up zombies a bit, and making a wide variety of game play changes spawned from these forums. Richard has also been spending a lot of time on Side quests, so expect to see some new story missions popping up.

We know that when version 1.0 hits Steam, reviewers will pile on quickly, so we need SPAZ to be solid.

Post v1.0 we will be putting out a free expansion pack including Bounty hunters and Arenas. Probably more side quests and new dynamic missions as well. One exciting thing about bounty hunters is that they have a new class of heavily modified ships. So expect 5 new ships (one per size class)

Finally, we have a television interview with Electronic Playground tomorrow. So wish us luck there. Once it comes out we will be sure to post it.

Today is certainly a great day for MinMax, and thank you all for being a part of it!

Well, they did take the online down so it may have never been much better than that. At least you can still get on and do some races with friends.

Tuungle is pretty good to use, played at 9pm last night EST and there were around 9-10 people.

That is awesome news about SPAZ, I was holding off in anticipation of it hopefully releasing on steam.

Already bought it on Impulse. D: If the key doesn't transfer I'll likely double dip, that game is pretty stellar.

Hows dwarfs!? Is it good? What kind of game is it? What do you.. do?

They have a good demo available on Steam. It's about managing dimwitted dwarfs who are good at getting themselves killed while searching for gold. Give it a try.

Anyone have ut 2k4 on Steam? Has that game always had low sound? Everything is high but the music always seems higher,i even had music at half and the sound effect high but the sound effects still sound low. Is that just how the game is?

So I guess you save $5 by buying SPAZ now from Impulse, since they say the final version will be $20. Although it will probably have some launch discount, and I don't really want to support Gamestop's digital effort.

Someone posted a "WTF is Dwarfs!??" earlier, and it looks fun.

Here's a review I found that really sold me on this game, definitely give it a watch if you're on the fence about this game, It really is a great little game and for 2.50 it is sooo worth it, you can literally play a game in 5 minutes which I think is great, and for what it's worth the dev's are very active on forums with their community, to me that's support worthy.

Its criminal how little time I have in this game. Great game.

I have played a shitload of it on Steam, and then I bought a version straight from their website because I liked the game so much. It can be frustrating at first when you're dying every few seconds, but when you get it together and can stay alive and do different stuff it becomes a lot more fun. One of the few indie games too you can find actual servers to play against people on. Too many of them have become abandoned.
