Yeah, arguing over who is in the wrong here is kind of weird to me.

Is it the guy who got X keys and is reselling them?
Is it the guy who got Y keys and is giving them away to members of a select group?
Is it all of us because, hell, I doubt a single person in this thread is from India?

It sucks that some people sucked up all the keys before we could cheat our way to one for ourselves but taking a moral high ground on the matter is a little hypocritical.

My $0.02. Still love you all. <3

Think of it this way, they'll think that there's lot of attention for better computer parts in those countries and investors will push in those zones :V

This peak could not have lasted longer than about 1.1 microseconds, seeing as how your total download was only at 135 MB.

Faerie Solitaire should be a must buy for that price. I picked it up during the summer sale along with 30 or so other games, but it by far has been my biggest time sink. Maybe its the sound the cards make when you start to get a combo, the satisfying feeling of perfecting a level, or the life saving power-ups. I'm like 8 hours in and am only about 40% through the story, and yet I can't wait to get home from work to go play it. Yes, I'm craving to play a solitaire game.

(note: it's not like normal solitaire that can be found on Windows, probably closer to spider solitaire.)

That's because as soon as I started my game download, I then began to download the ENTIRE internet.

Great post, I have fourteen hours on it myself.

It's based on the golf variant, actually.

? You can build a top-of-the-line gaming rig here already.

There have been countries other than india in these deals, and I'm pretty certain most people who obtained keys were not in those countries.

Fair enough, though PC gaming has historically been much bigger than console gaming in developing countries.

One more plug for Faerie Solitaire, according to the developer, anybody that has the game will will get the upcoming 2.0 version for free. It will actually be a separate release on Steam insted of an upgrade patch. The new version will have high resolution art (all repainted) and many additions and improvements, most of them coming from the iOS version.

I'd say no. You don't need the original if you have Warband and most fans of the series don't like the newest one because of how much the firearms break the game and the multiplayer. So basically just wait for a sale on Warband.
It's worth every penny for Warband; I've sunk 80 hours into it the last two weeks. I definitely understand waiting for a lower price though.

I don't have a spare one, just to prevent anyone else PMing me :) I only grabbed one for Stop It and he's playing it as I type this!
Oops, sorry.

I'd love a code for Dirt 3. I'm not going to bother anyone with PMs, but if you see this and have an extra I'd really appreciate it!

Is dirt 3 really 11GB, because I'm at my dad's house (350KB/s) and it's going to take forever on that connection compared to my apartment (2MB/s)

I'd literally have to have it downloading all day.

It sure is!

It's sad now knowing Dirt 3 was free to people, as I was interested in eventually picking it up, but not any "good" price it sees in a sale I'll think "yeah but it could've been free" and end up never picking it up. A shame really.

That's your own strange psychological issue.

Yeah, I agree. Dirt 3 is an excellent game and worth paying for. Sounds like you didn't really want it anyways except just to have on your list. *shrug*

Nope. Hell, a ton of other people react the exact same way. We had dozens upon dozens of posters over the holiday sale who when Terraria went up in price said "I'd have bought it at $5 but knowing others got it for $2.50 I just can't do it. This isn't an uncommon reaction. The CAG in me won't pay more knowing something was available for much less, especially with so much else to play.

I don't collect Steam games, I'm not that guy. If I want a game it's because I plan to play it.

If you want the game, you'll buy it.
Whatever mindfuckery is in your head because of it being free shouldn't affect you wanting it.
But if it does....

It doesn't effect me wanting it. It effects my willingness to pay $50 more than others in order to play it.

It means I'll likely wait for a price close enough to free that I won't feel slighted.

This isn't a psychological issue, it's a reduction of perceived value.

That's not really the same thing though. While Terraria is definitely worth full price (nevermind $5), I can see people being ticked off that they missed out on the $2.50 deal hours/minutes before they had a chance to buy it.

You are sad that people took advantage of a giveaway (aimed at developing countries) to get a free game, and that the codes ran out before you were able to do the same. This would be like saying "I totally would have seen The Dark Knight in theatres, but I read that some people in my city got invited to a free screening. I'm not going to pay to see a movie knowing people got to see it for free."

You are right. But it is a psychological issue, even if extremely common.
It is a very good game so I recommend it. Maybe not @ $50 but at $25 or below I wouldn't feel slighted.

That isn't the same, as if those people had been invited to a free screening, I'd have never had a chance regardless. Whatever the case may be, the perceived value of the product is lowered, oh well. Tons of other great games out there.

Ok, I sent the winners PMs. Congrats to them, and sorry for the ones who didn't.

It was really really hard to pick, but I narrowed it down to 4 at the end, and had to coin-toss since all 4 were great.

If I could get copies to everyone of you, I would.

Will repeat this in the future for sure.

Douchebag. Yes, me.
Has anyone played Legend of Fae? From the video it looks like some crazy mash up of Puzzle Quest and a side-scrolling RPG.
