Which is why I bought Dragon Age 1: UO during the summer sale even though I may never play it. Was also hoping for cheap DS 2 and Dicktits for this reason.

The writing has been fairly obvious for a while now.

Scalpers are assholes, I was referring to the guy who got one free game and wanted to trade it, only to get shit by Stallion Free. He doesn't have some moral obligation to give out that copy for free, and like he wrote, the reason he got it was to gift it to a friend and not to sell it.

So as long as I only quadruple the price of a ticket once, I am in the clear? Taking advantage of a promotion for a game you are not interested in with the intent of just flipping it for games you are interested in is morally identical to scalping regardless of volume.

I feel a little bad for the original poster too, but he came at a bad time. The thread had just had a bunch of people scalp their Dirt 3 codes. Coupled with a history of people trying to flip 1 penny Humble Indie Bundles and complimentary Portals, it's just a recipe for a bad situation.

But that wasn't clear in his first two posts. Then the ire switched to his seemingly entitled attitude (e.g. What I'm owed.)

If he had intended to give it to a friend (and it cost him nothing) he should have no problem giving it away for free then. The moment he decided to flip it for more than it cost him, he became a scalper. Whether or not you have a problem with that is fine, but don't be surprised that people don't like it.

A little OT, but this summer I have been wading through my Steam backlog and playing a lot of my more graphically intensive games before I go off to school and am relegated to my lap top!

So far I have beaten Crysis, Metro 2033, Darksiders, Medal of Honor/Airborne and Assassin's Creed Brotherhood.

Now that I am done bragging about how I am actually (beginning) to play the games I buy instead of just playing Team Fortress 2, Black Ops and Terraria I have a question :p

I am about to start Mirror's Edge and I was wondering, should i be playing it with a gamepad or M/kb? The aiming with be better with the mouse, obviously, but I would think that movement would be better on the gamepad. What say you GAF?

Play with the pad and when you get to a section that requires shooting, hot swap to m/k?

Play with the pad. There's not much shooting in the game anyway.

I was fine playing through the entirety of the game using the pad. The shooting sections aren't that frequent and aren't that great anyway, so you can force your way through it.

Having said that, I have friends who played through on M/Kb and it controlled perfectly. It really is just a preference thing.

That's an extremely black-and-white view of the situation. Scalpers are typically people who buy tickets in mass quantities to sell them for double the retail price or more. I think most people agree that's wrong. This is a guy who got one game for free to gift to his friend, then decided to sell it for significantly less than the retail price when the friend was able to acquire a copy for himself. If you want to condemn him and call him a scalper, that's fine, but it seems pretty judgmental to me. Personally I would probably gift the game to a GAF:er, but I won't hold a grudge against this guy because he didn't.

Eh, the way I look at it is that he potentially took a free copy away from a person that may have really wanted it. So, instead of getting the game for free like he or she should have, they have to pay $10, $20, or whatever.

I agree that the original post wasn't particularly egregious and that he didn't act with bad intentions, but he came in at the wrong time with it. Someone was bound to get crap for it and it's unfortunate that he ended up receiving the brunt of it.

Anyway, I think I've made my position reasonably clear, so I'm done sullying the thread with it.

It's an unfortunate trend, and taking advantage of the Humble Bundles is downright reprehensible, I agree.

LEt's wait and see. Ubisoft routinely delays the PC versions of their games shortly before the scheduled release date.

If you are at all familiar with M/keyboard controls, try those to start with. You should be able to look around and do more precise movements, and I really feel they did a good job with the controls.

If you prefer gamepad for non-shooting than okay, but I really think it might be easier and better with mouse precision for jumps.

I'd say no. You don't need the original if you have Warband and most fans of the series don't like the newest one because of how much the firearms break the game and the multiplayer. So basically just wait for a sale on Warband.

It seems a little counter-intuitive, but having tried both I think keyboard and mouse works better, even in the platforming sections. You have move control of where you're going, and it's easier to change direction in mid air. You're always going full speed, so you really don't need analog movement.

I second this, just get Warband. Also, make sure to get the Polished Landscapes mod right off the bat. Makes the game look much better, but it's not compatible with saves from before it was loaded.

When it comes to Mirror's Edge, or any game that's First-Person, I think M/KB is the best come. Makes the looking feel more fluid.

3rd Persons on the other hand feel (most times) best using a Pad. Just Cause 2, for instance, is beyond better using a Pad over a mouse.

This makes no sense at all. How are 3rd person games different from 1st person games when it comes to playing? You still aim with the mouse. And you can move the camera view with the mouse (something I wouldn't want to trade for anything). Just Cause 2 in particular plays MUCH better with keyboard and mouse.
