I love this mission. Reading about it makes me want to install SA. You think you did everything right, but it actually matters how you drive. If you're too close to the side of the train, Smoke gets a bad angle and tends to hit the train instead of the bad guys.

- PC controls are hit and miss. I'm absolutely awful at shooting... which is going to be a pretty big problem, later on. The issue is the PC version has no lock-in :(

What's lock-in? I see nothing wrong with the controls at all. Wait until you get the M4. Downing bad guys with it is awesome.

Valve should really formally announce those kind of sales a week before or so, would be more reasonable ad profitable for them.

Also less painful for us.

If people knew a sale was definitely coming, they'd be unlikely to buy anything though.

If we knew it would happen a week before we'd wait until the announcement to get hyped. If we dont know, chances are the whole internet is making bets about it 3 weeks earlier.
I'd say it works out pretty well for them.

Cheers, that helps a lot :).

I spent $250AUD at Christmas and ended up with around 150 new games. I think I'll pass on this one and wait for Christmas haha.

I managed to get my powerhouse beast machine working last night. Could have done with the Steam sale then. But no, I have to wait for you and your bloody pay check.

I think you got the same effect also without announcing it: people buy less during the entire month of June waiting for the sale.
Maybe some people could anyway buy less waiting for the formal announce, but hey, don't buy something cause you are waiting for something that will announce a sale a week later means you are really willing to wait a lot of time eheh. Mind trick.

Also people that don't follow forums or browse the steam page daily could easily know of the sale incoming.

My wallet is ready to begin catching those bargains, but my computer isn't. My new parts will arive today with the exception of the monitor, which will be another couple days (due to slow-ass Amazon).

Still, bring on the sale!

I guess if the people whose games are featured in the sale give these hints, its perfectly clear the sale is coming. They are contacted by Valve beforehand about these sales, I believe.

His first tweet reads like he just received a memo or notification about the sale. Maybe something from Valve letting him know that it's going to begin. He just didn't bother looking at the starting date.

People only are pretty sure that there is a sale, not when it might start though. Bets range from today to thursday or whenever its time according to Gabes clock.
