I wish there was a feature on GAF where if someone asked "Has the sale started yet?", when they clicked post it'd automatically direct them to the Steam homepage to see for themselves.

I think we've established that it will be "Your Wallet is Already Dead."

Or something like that.
I liked "You are already broke"

Which is in fact true right now, because my bank will not post my deposit!

Serious Sam is a wicked gahbidge series for chowdaheads.
It's a lot like dating a person for a month and having them put you in the friend-zone.

Which is to say that people here have a massive case of blue-balls. And it shows.

Perhaps a under the logo should be another logo. That is either "Steam sales ON" or "Steam sales OFF"

I swear this thread is about to become the virtual version of this:

I'll start the Facebook group that wrangles up the volunteers to help clean up the mess afterwards.

I was walking through downtown Vancouver towards Yaletown and passed by the CBC and Canada Post building where that occurred. If it wasn't for a few boarded up windows on the BMO and a Budget Rental Center (really?) you wouldn't have known there had been a riot two days earlier.

Yeah, "You are already broke" is a good title.

Have we established who's making the sale thread should there be a sale later?

Unless Valve pulls a fast one, I don't think a Summer Sale will start today. Maybe they will wait till the end of the week / Decide they have enough money for now.

I think they already decided to use my suggestion: "Meet the Repo Man".

Just kidding.

I'm pushing for it, though.

What third world country is that?

Let me show you through these halls, my friend, where treasures of indie gaming await...

chance that its happening today = 44%
If It doesnt happen today, tomorrow the chance will be 33%. And if nothing happened until thursday, there will be a 75% chance that it will happen this day.

However, this is purely his logic, I am only explaining =P

Why thursday? What did I miss?
I'm all in for today. If it is thursday I will be very unhappy.

It's when the Killing Floor summer event is starting up. Also a number of indie titles have achievements dealing with the summer sale but haven't been updated yet, so Valve probably needs a few days to update them all.

Percentage time.

44% Today
33% Tuesday
19% Wednesday
75% Thursday
23 % Friday
LOLwhat? You think there is a 94.15% chance that a sale happens this week? You're sooooooo far off.

As we approach 1EST, it seems likely the sale won't start today. The only problem with a Thursday sale is that it'd be more of a long-weekend sale than the summer blowout we've hyped it up to be (assuming it ends on the 4th).

I plan to buy the complete valve pack if it comes on sale, but I have one question. Does steam sell a game at a sale price one day and then drop the price even further a couple days later during a sale like this?

Yes, that has happened before. It's usually best to only buy games from the daily deal until the last day.

It depends, usually all the games go on sale so there is always something off of them.

But its always worth waiting to see if they're in a daily deal because then they might go down further.

Yeah. Pretty much everything is on sale like 25-33% or so, but sometimes during the daily deals they'll take a game that was already on sale a little bit, and make it like 75% off. The packs though, pretty much stay the same
unless they accidentally mark it down too much

Thursay or Friday is my bet for the Summer Sale. I leave on Vacation Thursday and will be up in the Mountains with no internet for 5 days so there are pretty good odds I will get screwed.

The only case they will do it is if they put an entire company catalog on sale, they may lower individual games even more. But they aren't going to lower a game to 75% one day, and 90% the next.

Now, they may sell a game on sale for $10, then in 2 or 3 weeks put it on sale again for $5, but what can you do.
