lol. I came in this thread 30 minutes ago when the first steamgift key was announced to be given, so I stayed for a while to see if anyone else shows up.

Maybe it's just a slow news day or they're waiting with bated breath for Steamgifts codes? I'm only quiet 'cause I have like three pages backlogged of people to add to my friend list. (If I missed anyone, add me.)

Also, I had other chances to grab a free game or an invite or whatever in this or other threads but I always decided to ignore them "just because I was a junior"...so I don't feel bad for taking this one :p

Anyone ever have this problem with Source games? Currently happening with DoD:S. When i use the steam server list manager OUTSIDE of the game, meaning DOD is not launched, i can see a ton of servers. But when i try to find a server within the game, after its launched, nothing shows up. Weird!

I like the DLC listing, especially if it's a co-op or MP game and you want to play the DLC content, makes it easier to see who has it.

This is the first I've even heard of it, but does anyone else think it's weird that we're seeing a LOT of games (seemingly) that completely focus on single player? I have zero problem with this but after flogging the shit out of games like Vanquish and seeing what can be done when MP is taken out of the equation... I'm even more excited.

Do you guys get release dates on these pre-orders? My Steam just says "September". I really hate handing over money when I don't even know when to expect it.

How dependable is Steam cloud? I'm upgrading my HDD, and I'm only really worried about my Deus Ex save. I should probably just manual backup shouldn't I?

I think it saves to both the HDD and to Steam Cloud with Deus Ex. Last night I got a "cannot connect to Steam Cloud" (not the exact wording) error, but I was able to access my saves just fine.

It syncs every time you close the game, but if you want to be sure the savegame data is in this directory

Steam\userdata\<id>\28050\remote

I'm so tempted to hop on the GMG $34 deal for Dead Island. Part of me thinks the game is going to be a buggy/janky mess though... :( Makes me wonder if that $30 would be better spent towards Hard Reset pre-order :O

A PC exclusive shooter with no MP is ballsy, not sure if that is the same thing as ambitious. I'm buying it for that reason anyway.

so g2play.net has Deus Ex keys for sale for $25 (cdn) but it says they are Russian keys so you need to use a Russian VPN to activate it, then you can play it anywhere. Sounds kinda... fishy to me. Anyone have experience with that kinda thing? I have heard the site is legit but yeah... I dunno... seems off.

It's legit, just regional restriction on the keys.

I think it's probably advisable to just make a new Steam account and give them that if you are going to do this. They probably won't do anything but...

Hard Reset aint gonna be buggy or janky in terms of performance, i can say that much.

It'll probably be on par with The Witcher 2 visually as well. Im expecting great things.

Amazon has it for 35$

Its 10$ more, but you don't have to worry about it then. Right now, it seems like Russia VPN has to be activated from a Russia IP address and than can be played anywhere else.

My advice right now is to get yourself acquainted with GreenManGaming. They have been fantastic with delivering keys timely, customer service on DRM in titles, and they always seem to have the best prices. Games are 15% off to start, and they always seem to have a 20% code running. For example, both Dead Island and Batman AC will be 34$ from there. Day one.

Hey dudes, I bought Borderlands from steam but it will not run! I tried redownloading it and i googled for an answer. Theres no err it just says "preparing to launch" then doesnt/

Heh, Witcher 1 was so buggy on release they had to rerelease it!
Hyperbole there, but it was incredibly buggy on release
Witcher 2 was better, but still had major problems (like the DRM, which they had to completely patch out of it.)
