for a PC exclusive by Painkiller and Witcher devs? yes i do
The whole "from the devs of" thing usually ends up being pretty meaningless. Metro 2033 was from the devs of Stalker yet it lacked almost everything that made Stalker good.

For every "from the guy who brought you Star Wars" there are plenty of counterexamples I can't think of. It's not unreasonable to expect that devs who made good things will continue to make good things, though expecting a bug-free jankless launch is pushing it.

It's not from the devs of The Witcher and Painkiller, it's from people who worked at the devs of The Withcer and Painkiller, but which people is anyone's guess.

So some dudes who got fired from CDProjekt and People Can Fly formed a studio of misfits and can slap that 'from the creators of" horseshit on there.

People who buy into that crap are the markiest of marks.

hey im not talking about the game itself, we're talking about its release status here. I think its gonna be much more solid in terms of performance and vissualy appealing that most of the games we've seen recently.

This is both true and wrong. It depends, every time. But we are talking about performance and stability here and the only reason im quoting them its because they have years working on the PC as a platform.

We also had Hellgate London from Diablo devs, and that had none of Blizzard's trademark polish or performance as I recall.

I agree it usually means very little, I remember when there were 8000 studios that claimed that their next game was from the people that worked on Diablo/or some other Blizzard game.

Your example kinds sucks though, because IMO Metro 2033 had most of what made Stalker good: the setting and atmosphere.

It was missing excellent gunplay, interesting combat scenarios, and open level design that was exciting to explore.

well its a different game you silly

but yeah, Metro wasnt too hot, but talking JUST about the tech (wich is what i was refering to in Hard Reset, since it started at bug/janky talk), it was great as expected.

Also, just got a word that my internet service is doubling download/upload speed but still charging the same, laawdddddd

Amazon has it for 35$

Its 10$ more, but you don't have to worry about it then. Right now, it seems like Russia VPN has to be activated from a Russia IP address and than can be played anywhere else.

My advice right now is to get yourself acquainted with GreenManGaming. They have been fantastic with delivering keys timely, customer service on DRM in titles, and they always seem to have the best prices. Games are 15% off to start, and they always seem to have a 20% code running. For example, both Dead Island and Batman AC will be 34$ from there. Day one.
They forgot my deus ex goty code, so they credited me the amount. They also forgot my tropico reloaded code... :D

In fact GMG claimed their version was going to have SecuROM, which would be very unusual for a Steamworks game.

I was one of those that bought the Borderlands GOTY edition.

How do I find the activation codes for all the DLC? It pops up and asks me for it. When I click on show CD key in library, it just shows me the one for the zombie island, which I entered...

Forked out for Hard Reset with the money I was going to use to preorder Dead Island.

Not sure it was an excellent idea, but I'll see how it goes.

You should have 2 cdkeys, the one for the zombies and the one for mad moxxi.

The other ones dosnt need activation.

By the one, if someone is having problems with the activation, heres the manual method:

https://support.securom.com/pop_borderlands.html

PS: i am looking into my steam account, and now, i just have 1 cdkey, the zombies one. Weird; because i activated 2

I didn't like the gunplay in Stalker all that much. (It wasn't great in Metro 2033 either though)

Stalker was more ambitious but it was also much jankier, while Metro was going for a more linear style.

You can always go into the DLC directory in where the game installed and manually activate it with the executable there.

My CD keys have also vanished, probably due to the steamworks integration that is coming soon. Removing Securom maybe?

SO quick question...

Having a really hard time figuring out what the enemy is in counter strike (source mainly..playing with bots)...

any tips?

I'm new to CSS too and have had the same problem initially. Counters all wear helmets and Terrors don't, as far as I can tell. Usually a big enough difference for me so far.

cl_minmodels 1

This will limit the Ts and CTs to having just the one model (per-side) regardless of the particular one players choose upon joining the game, and they're very easily distinguishable from one another. Works in both 1.6 and Source.

And did some things better than Stalker, things that ended making the game really good :)

The team didn't set out to make an "open level design" so thats not a fault with the game.

Could Activision actually be doing a full Steamworks conversion going forwards?
Most likely. Activision is usually hands off with the online. they'd rather have someone else do the work for them.

I don't know, to me it has some of the best gunplay ever, mainly thanks to the animations. The atmosphere is also second to none. One of my favourite FPS games ever.

Well that's pretty awesome. Been playing CS for nigh on ten years and I didn't know that.

How are you guys posting the links to your profile page with your Steam ID at the end of it? Mine has a mess load of numbers at the end.

Also, is it possible to make friend list groups so I can put all the GAF people in one list and my RL friends in one list?

I wouldn't really recommend the Polynomial. It's basically an interactive screensaver with bad gameplay.

On your profile go to edit profile and there should be an option there for "customizable URL".

With the current version of Steam it is not possible to make friend list groups. However the current Beta Steam (Which you can opt-in) allows you to do so, so that feature should be added into the regular version of steam soon enough.
