STEAM- Announcements & Updates 2011 Edition |OT2|

Picked up Gatling Gears. Played a few of the prologue missions. Love it. Reviews liked to call it "mindless fun," but I disagree -- if you aren't paying attention you'll get hit a lot and ruin your multiplier (it's a dual-stick SHMUP).

Those whining about it requiring online/EA activation -- what are you doing on Steam? Steam offline doesn't even work right, so you have to be online to play any Steam games too (basically). Also the "5 activation limit" thing has never been a problem for me. Even if you run out, you just email them or call them to give you 5 more.

haha fuck EA, not buying that shit.

I actually feel bad for the developers. Oh well, hopefully it does well on XBLA and PSN.

Edit: Oh shit, this is by the Greed Corp. developers. Didn't like that game at all. :lol

I just don't support stupid DRM at launch.

No no no no no no no no NO.

There's no reason or excuse for this ever.

Works just fine for me. I've never had a problem with playing a game offline.

You are able to start your computer when it is not connected to the internet, launch Steam, and when it can't go online go into offline mode?

So how is Serious Sam Double D?

Avoid atm... Changing the res is messed up and they need to fix it

Its like it wont let you pick a res, you have to cycle through them and each time it changes it on your monitor, and there was no 1920x1080

Yeah. I just disconnected my router, restarted my computer, load up Steam and it asked if I want to go into offline mode. I choose yes and it loads up like normal but without a connection.

I'm jealous. When I do that it says "Can't connect to Steam." Throughout this thread others have had the same experience. For us the only way to go into offline mode is to be online and tell Steam to go offline. Curious what the difference is and if there's some way to save your credentials or something.

Well, I have it set to save my password. From what I've read on the Steam forums that is what's needed to successfully do it.

People excuse it on PS3 though? (Not expecting an answer, just sayin')

I just don't see the point of complaining about install limits unless you're someone who has actually been hindered by this before.

It's not going to keep me from picking up a fun, cheap, quality game.

It's Serious Sam alright. It controls like Abuse with kb/m (aswd for movement, mouse for 360 degree shooting). I have to try the Xbox controller later. Gun stacking is damned cool. Tommy Gun/Shotgun powers, combine!

Edit: Yeah, the resolution changing is fucking stupid (and no 1080? really?). They need to change that.

You guys better get FarCry 2

screw the haters
I tried liking the game but its flaws overshadow the positive things the game has. The first few hours were amazing, though, until the shitty checkpoints and the long distances between objectives (which is affected by the checkpoint issue) made me put it down fir good.

Dice

Pokémon Parentage Conspiracy Theorist
I tried to like Far Cry 2 but I kept turning it off and playing other games to have fun.

Okay, the problem of no key showing for the Borderlands DLC is apparently some sort of Steam bug that they are working on.

Thank you for contacting Steam Support.

The issue with the Mad Moxxi will be resolved shortly, we are aware of the issue and working on a fix.

You will be able to view the CD Key and access the content within a day, we apologize for any inconvenience this issue may have caused.

As promised, the first of my Steamgifts points will go towards generating invites for SteamGAF. Hopefully those who win will do the same. Thought I might do a little game related riddle to amuse myself, whoever answers correctly first will get an invite.

Riddle: Despite what science might say, Ark is tied to the evolution of life.

Hint: Snes game.

Heads up for the GMG lovers. Facebook:

hold on to your pre-orders (was just about to bite)

Have i ever said that Robert Clarke from GMG is fucken awesome? He single-handedly puts Valves support department to shame.

I have had dealings with him over FB, the forums and the support page.
