I'm assuming it's something you probably got for free, as THQ is always tossing it in with other games. I can understand wanting something in return, but as others have said it's on sale for 5 dollars every third Wednesday, and the attitude you seem to be exhibiting here probably won't have many people wanting to help you out by paying more for the game so that you'll get something you want.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with buying cheap/free and selling for more later. It's part of the general economic principle called arbitrage. If somebody takes him up on the offer, well, good for both of them.

EVERYONE remotely interested in the old Sierra Point and Click Adventures (and who can forgive the 4:3 resolution due to the gorgeous art), get The Whispered World. One of my favourite Adventures ever with quite a few interesting and later even hard puzzles.
Yeah, I bought it based on the trailer, it seems like something special.

Toma was just a gent and gifted me The Whispered World even when I tried to talk him out of it, haha.

Just thought it should be noted here :)
Just wanted to note that Toma still needs to grab his Wizard Card Game that's lying around here on my desk for over half a year :D

Of course. The post just reminded of the Dirt 3 entitlement that made people feel they deserved 30 dollar games for something anyone could spend 5 minutes filling out a form to get for free. This is a different circumstance, sure, just the "I'd rather let it rot" rubbed me the wrong way.

Well, you're right but I doubt anyone is going to take that offer.

I finally buckled and got Magicka thanks to everyone here talking about it and after watching TotalBuscuit's video.

Trying to buy it for my friends, but I can't get the 4-pack. I thought we could do that now after the trading update!?

agreed, only saying this post because of that comment. quick google of weenerz free to a good home site:neogaf.com shows he will take charity though, typical.

okay, enough of this rubbish.

1. This is low. He gave 2 Portal copies away.

2. Wasn't there something about Dirt 3 and you or am I imagining things?

Guys, back on track talking about the fantastic Whispered World, deal of the day.

New record! 4.2 million people online.

it's kinda funny that in a mp game of COD4 today a guy was mocked for using xfire instead of steam. If Steam releases the video recorder tool, then it's pretty much the end of xfire.

What view do you guys choose for your collection?

Funny you ask, I wanted to post about it today but decided against it.

I use list view with icons, the images have some inconsistencies. Grid view is ugly with Braid, Oblivion, TF2 beta etc. If detail view had any indicator if a game has cloud saves, I'd use that.

Is it really that good? I've heard some middling impressions and am leaning towards not buying it.

If you can get over the annoying sound of the character you play as, it's a great point-and-click game.

Middling impressions probably stem from professional reviewers who (for whatever reason) had a really hard time looking beyond the flaws.

Quick check:

Did you like old Sierra adventure games?
Are you bothered by a 4:3 resolution?

If you answer the first yes, and the second no, you should give it a try.

I still think Aquaria has the worst art work, was working out how many games I need to buy with the letter A at the start to stop it showing every time I loaded steam but the amount required was 30+ :(

So how do you play Magicka DLC when you get it? The outfits appear but it seems like I can only play the normal adventure?

Edit: Okay found it. I was thrown off by the options they give you. Made it seem like a different kind of mode. Neat that they let you mix n match your DLC.

I can't believe there's been an added robe and weapon in Magicka inspired by Maniac Mansion/Day of the Tentacle. I'll be buying that DLC and playing through it again right away.

i will stick to the default one atm.

but i'm insta changing to grid mode when controller/tv mode comes and i'll prolly actually hook up my PC to TV and keep it like that for a few days. i like everything to be streamlined.

Nine out of ten orphans can't tell the difference.
is it somehow possible to add icons to grid view games that lack one ? Or somehow customize your own?

Pretty much all the DLC, including the Vietnam stuff, is for Versus/Challenge mode.

No, I think steam did it purpose for you to buy your games off steam rather than another service.

Tempted to buy the Magicka DLC, but my friend and I never completed the base game. Got too frustrating

Most annoying part in the game is when you get swamped by the living dead, other than that if have 4 players the game is a breeze to play.

Still playing? As in, has been continuously since release? That would be incredible. Wouldn't be surprised if some come back to it once in a blue moon, though. I have it.

Detail View. With List or Grid I can't view all my games at once and decide what I want to play :D
I'd love to use Grid View, it reminds me of iTunes, but another fault is that some games lack a proper image and only show a crappy low-res icon.
